Thought up this bright idea a little ago.
Post your reasons for creating your username! ^_^
My name, Lence Grey, is created from well, it started as a possible internet alias. However, I got Ys fever, and decided to use the name in a fan Ys story I've been writing.
Well, what's your story?

Well, my original username was nunuu until I noticed there was a field in the Modify Profile thing that allowed people to change nicknames. :P
But about nunuu: it was simply my name for StarChild/Starky in Chrono Cross. :P
Zuu~ is just some random noise. Or one of those damn giant bird enemies from the Final Fantasy series. :3

Wasn't there a topic like this a long time ago? Or maybe that was some other board... ah well, whatever. Basically, "Lumineux" is the Japanese name for that lamp-making harpy NPC in Legend of Mana. (She was called Monique in the US version.) I didn't really give a darn about the character beyond that she had a pretty design, and I liked the name, so I swiped it. No, you don't pronounce the "x." The Japanese is something like リュミネー (ryu-mi-nee) or リュミノ (ryu-mi-no). I don't remember which. But there y'go. Lumi works. XD

Well I just use my real name now, but it used to be Justinzero, which is an evolved form of ZeroDeath, which was a combination of me liking Mega Man X and being 13 years old. Suffice to say its changed for the better, but my email is still the same. Got it waaaaay back when Hotmail only gave you 200 mb storage, and that was if you had an account for a while ha ha. I use my real name here, because I prefer to think of ALoY as my home on the net.

Lumi is also a Finnish word, meaning "snow" in English. Yeah, I know. I have said that once before. Which is totally awesome, I have to say. Perhaps I'll just yank the Frenchy part off my username someday and pretend I'm Finnish. XD!!

I got my user name by combining my favorite Fire emblem class and my name put together thus making MichaelGeneral. Beside most of the games I've played lately your the general in it so when I play I imagine myself as the leader of the team or army.

It's a slightly improper romanization of サイバスター (the correct one is Cybuster, although Banpresto always writes it as Cybaster - a pet peeve of mine BTW, JP entertainment companies can be TERRIBLE at romanizing their names). It's a robot created over 15 years ago to be piloted by the main character of Super Robot Wars 2 and will go on to make many more appearances. Funny that you mention that you're writing an Ys fan story, because I am too, heh. Well, sort of; I'm more so inserting it into a crossover with, yep, you guessed it, Super Robot Wars (which are basically gigantic professional-level fanfics turned into SRPG games) into my own little rendition for fun. Not that it really makes any sense but I think I can work Ys lore, particularly Emelas and a rather...off the wall version of Eldeenian history (to be combined with other anime/game series, of course), into it. Worse comes to worse, since it's supposed to be completely impossible, I'll just play the "alternate universe" card since dimension-hopping isn't terribly uncommon in Super Robot Wars to begin with. Anyway, I'm almost done with a "prequel" to it so this might start kicking in soon. A sign of things to come, whenever I get around to it:

My story is actually a fantasial regress in the story. Return to Felghana is what I call it. Lence Grey as additional hero lad. More Felghana lore and diddies ahoy. Galbaran part 2 electric boogaloo ah well.

At this rate someone has to pretend being Finnish, because I'm starting to feel pretty lonely with no other Finnish members here beside me. <-- Finnish pretense mode engaged. XD ..Although my little arrow seems to be pointing (currently) at snarky Luke's washboard tummy. ; Whatevers~

MonoTekETeA - Supposed to sound like Mono Tiki Tea Ah, but since I didn't know how to spell it, I capitalized it in each spot I wanted there to be emphasis. People never got it.
Anyway, MonoTikiTeA or how ever you spell it, was a witch doctor in Scooby-Doo. On my 10th birtday, we went out to a lan-center for my birthday party, and first discovered Counter Strike. We were all thinking up names, and I thought about the witch doctor from Scooby-Doo and thought it was cool. From there it kinda just stuck. I has been available everywhere and thing I try to use it in. So most likely, you see "MonoTekETeA" and it is me. Except aim...who the heck decided to use the same name, except spelled wrong, anyway? Do a search for MonoTekETeA, and you get a lot of just me. (Bummer, just did it myself, and a lot of the old roleplaying boards I used to be a part of don't exist anymore, or atleast by google's standards. Hmm, Did a Dogpile search and got a few more, but nothing like back when I was 13 or so, bummer. I liked being a Squirrel in the Redwall Universe.)

Mine was created for FFXI - My friend liked the name Kim, and as Tarus tend to have a repeated consonant/vowel at the end I added the "mimi" to make it more Taru-ish.

Pulled from a line of dialogue in the 1966 novel Cugel the Clever by Jack Vance: “So now, be off! Or I inflict upon you the Spell of the Macroid Toe, whereupon the signalized member swells to the proportions of a house.” Always available.

Its funny to read where everyone's names came from. I just always read them and interpreted them oddly into something or the other by myself. (I always assumed Lumineux must love lights, or some particularly light-ey character since Lumineux means... illuminated, or something, ne? And was curious if musa was extra religious or if there was again some character behind the name! X'D [And before my brain clicked into place, I wondered if Majuunun loved Persian stories or something... *idiot*] wyrdwad and nunuu's names made me the most curious though. Somehow nunuu's name always sent visions of happy zipping tiny cute blue aliens in my brain. ) Em... I'm assuming everyone here probably knows where my name comes from, ne? (The chancellor abducting, deviously plotting, kingdom overtaking monster from Chrono Trigger) I ended up picking his name ages back, while registering at some random forum since I felt this poor guy received no love amongst all the Terras and Clouds and Tifas. And stuck with it. So now... this name pretty much gets used everywhere (along with one other, in some places where apparently Yakra is unavailable!).

Mine comes from the liner notes of old Konami CDs, where it says "Dedicated to all game music freaks." I always felt the name described me. In middle school, whenever someone asked me what kind of music I liked, I always said "video games and cartoon music". When I was little and played Pac Man on the Atari, I used to make recordings of trying to mimic the sound effects as I played, it fascinated me! I've been using it online since 2002.

Because I love old, unusual computers with cool games released for them. FM-77 is one of those.
It is username-worthy computer. It's just that cool.
It has no other meaning, to me. In the username I have. It is also permanent. It will never be changed.

My first and last name both start with a D, was quite the nerd (without the 64 in it, it was my nickname in high school), and the N64 was my all-time favorite machine.
So, hence the username.

Post by Red Hairdo on Oct 6, 2008 12:58:12 GMT -5
Well, it was on a hot summer day...OK, I started using this nickname since the beginning of 2006, when I had registered on NightWolve's blog as "Red Hairdo". Before it, I always had used the nickname "Glato", since 1998, when I had to give a name to my Diablo warrior character. I came up with "Glato" using my Italian surname, which is "Bigatto". Nowadays I only use "Red Hairdo", except with VERY few people, who still know me by that nickname. I gave myself that nickname ("Red Hairdo"), because since 2002, around the time I started playing Super Smash Bros. Melee, I started to main Roy and I really, really liked all his style, etc.. When I was a kid I really really liked swordsmen too. So, it was then when I stopped and thought to myself "... Hey, my all-time favorite character is also a swordsman (Crono from CT) but... what do these two also have in common??". It was when I noticed both also had red hair and that I had a tendency to like red-haired people. "Let me think of another character I really like... why, Adol Christin!". The reason I nicknamed me as "Red Hairdo" instead of "Red-haired" or "Red-haired swordsman" was because Crono was often referred to as "Punk Hairdo" whenever Spekkio (from the End of Time) talked about him. And because "Hairdo" was much less common in usernames out there, as well as shorter. That's how I came to use "Red Hairdo" as my nickname. It was kind of problematic though, as some people thought I had red hair and were surprised whenever I posted pcitures. xD ( ) I also always keep "Akage no Kenshi" as the sentence under my avatar, because it literally translates to "Red-haired swordsman", something I came to know when I checked Deuce's Walkthrough for Ys IV DoY a long, long time ago.
