Hahahaha. =D
Like I said, I don't know dick about Canadian TV. The fact that PBS is pan-national pleases me, though. I don't watch TV regularly at all anymore, but when I decide to, normally it's PBS. Because I like britcoms and being a smartyman. But as I was saying earlier, the BBC news there is pretty good, and covers European stuff as decently as can be expected. My region also has a German-based news broadcast as well, which is pretty good. Especially when compared to US media >_>

Britcoms. :O
I can never get into their goofy stuff. I mean, the only thing I watched was Monty Python and the Flying Circus and Mr. Bean. My brother and sis-in-law are more into that sort of stuff though. And they're big Doctor Who fans (like from way back when) as well.
If there's something British that I want to watch more of, it's QI. I'm thinking about buying the first season DVD soon. :D

Yeah that's true. June-july are definitely the best months. I don't know of any websites I'm afraid, but I can ask around and post the results here later when I find something. I haven't been in either of those cities much, so I don't really know what you can do there. At least there's a great video game store in Stockholm. They had Ys 3!

Thanks. no worries we will buy a lonely planet so we will plan our trip. I may not enter in a videogame store. You know we have more than 1200 km from france to drive... so there are some others priorities (does that word exist...? )

I would think that mudane would be a fairly good thing, really. Sad thing is, we don't even get decent news coverage. Do you have any equivalent of the US's PBS up in Canadia? IE: Publically run television that tends to show BBC news and the like? If so, watch the news on that, you'll get a somewhat less sensationalized and significantly less sloppy news report than one does from US networks (Cannae say about Canadian News, though). In BC we have "The Knowledge Network", which is basically a local PBS. I used to watch cartoons like Count Duckula and Danger Mouse on it as a kid. We also have PBS and BBC Canada. Of course, theres still the CBC. The news here is skewed like in the U.S., but not as bad. Still, bad news is still news and good news still isn't news.

I wish my country wasn't in the news all the god damn time. I'd much rather have a friend or two freeze than PRESIDENT KILLS BY THE THOUSAND DAILY WHILE SPEAKING OUT AGAINST ABORTION AND THE EVILS OF GAY MARRIAGE. Also, black metal ist krieg! Ulver are probably my favorite from that lot.

Denmark? Isn't that the country where Hamlet and Macbeth tried to team up to kill King Lear?

Hey, swedish people , here is a question for you. We are still planning our holydays in sweden for this summer. But the hostels are so crazy expensive !!! do you people know some good and cheap adress between Goteborg and stockholm ? Or do you have a brand of "normal" hostel with average prices. When I see normal hostels at 1000 kronor... I feel it's a bit expensive. We are seeking rooms for two at 500 -600 kronor "ungefär". well c'mon up to you.

Guide to hostels in Stockholm: www.vandrarhemstockholm.se/Guide to hostels in Gothenburg: www.vandrarhemgoteborg.se/Both sites are in Swedish, but should be easy enough to understand. The links on the right are various hostels. Click them for more info. Most of these hostels have their own websites as well (sometimes in English) which can be found via these pages. Let me know if you need more help/info/translations. You can also manually search for hostels here. Just type the town (or an address) you want to find a hostel in under the "Var?" (Where?) text. A list of results should come up. Click any result for info, website and a full map to its location (this is a full map of Sweden, zoom in/out as much as you like). Also, if you're having trouble reading the text, you can use www.systranet.com to translate Swedish texts/websites to English (it actually works really well, much much better than the typical japanese to english translations).

Am I gonna have to know a lot of Swedish when I visit Stockholm? Or do many people speak English in Sweden? It's going to be quite an adventure.

Well thanks so much seldane. Really that's great. factly i shoulnd't have many problems with swedish on the websites. Well to tell the truth I am visiting sweden ...again. My mothertongue is swedish. Have still some family in Gôteborg\Stenungsund, where I spend all my summers when child. Last time I was up there was in 1998.... fact is I understand the language very well But too talk is quite a challenge right now. Nobody, (except my family naturally) speaks swedish here in France, so to entertain it it's quite hard. he, Seldane, I stopped reading Bamse comics at 16 !! (quite easy to understand.) Does Bamse still exist ?
