Listen to Faceless Enemy here. The greatest vocals ever, all done by the same guy. It's probably not your style--but holy hell do I love it. Nothing beats gruff metal falsettos with dirty screams and growls interspersed at the perfect moments.

Nothing beats gruff metal falsettos with dirty screams and growls interspersed at the perfect moments. Sounds almost exactly like Symphony X in all aspects. I don't like prog very much, usually prefer power if I HAVE to listen to sth with falsetto vocals, but this one's not bad. If you say so

Ziggy Stardust, yes.
Ziggy the Japanese band that I just had to look up because I'm quite certain you didn't mean David Bowie? No. >_>

Okay. You guys remember when I recommended To-Mera in this thread?
Delusions has become one of my favorite albums ever.
Seriously, any band that can perfectly blend elements of every metal subgenre with jazz, classical, lounge, and even pop (with soft female vocals!), and I mean PERFECTLY, deserves a medal just for that--not to mention that every member is EXTREMELY talented and the songwriting is absolutely sublime.
Listen to how this song twists and turns in apparent chaos, yet stays completely coherent and manages to come full circle--that, my friends, is true talent.
Check out how this song manages to go from crushingly heavy prog that would make the likes of Meshuggah green with envy, to a beautiful, jazzy ballad with no feeling of jerkiness whatsoever. And it goes back just as smoothly.
This... is one of the greatest opening songs I've ever heard. They went from a thrashy riff with a blast beat to lounge jazz instantly. And it worked. Even more bizarre, the second chorus sounds like black metal with poppy vocals--and guess what? It freaking works.
I'd love to post more, but it's best if you hear the album in its true glory. And it is GLORIOUS.

The new Lacrimosa album is somewhat strange. It's the same, yet it's different. Some of the stuff is outright laughable, but there's gems too, like the intro, or this (one of their catchiest songs in a while): v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTQ5MTU1OTU2.htmlThe last song would rank as a gem as well, if the violin wasn't recorded with an absolutely horrid sound.

djpretzel's the founder of OCremix, dude! That's internet fame, right there. I'd be shocked if you hadn't heard of him. As for Kaleidoscope, it's an indie Xbox 360 game. I've never played it, no less heard about it before the soundtrack was released by AnSo and djp. It's pretty, though~!

I found an old recording of a staging of Prokofiev's War and Peace online. Awesome stuff. Just got the the Ball - the selections I've played with my orchestra. Ah, the memories.

Was it different in year 1? Guess I need to watch more Stargate Atlantis! (: You know, I have no idea. It doesn't sound all that different. For sure though, by season 4, I believe, the music changes a little. :|

How can people not like this song? :(
I think it's 23948723947 times better than the boring Working Designs instrumental tune.

Is it just me, or is the art style in that video vaguely reminiscent of Futurama? I always thought it was just bleh. But now that you mention it, it does have some similarities!
