It's getting to that time of year again! Hell, a lot of stores around here are already in Christmas mode with the lights, trees, and the same bloody music that we've heard 29384723987 times in the past.
It just drives me INSANE how the SAME song by the SAME damn artist is played over the PA or on the radio year after year after year. I mean, come on, there are a billion variations of Silent Night with AND without vocals. Why not cycle through them?
Anyway, one tune that makes me want to take a sledgehammer and smash the speakers is WHAM's Last Christmas:

If there's three songs I hate, it's Last Christmas, Dominick the Donkey (though I can at least understand why people like it), and Santa Baby. Especially Santa Baby, it's everything that can be considered wrong with the holiday in one neat little package.
Yep, love Christmas, hate those songs.

I can only remember some stupidass Britney Spears christmas song that played every time our "radio" looped at the grocery store I used to work at. Every song sucked, this I assure you, but that one was especially grating.

My mom wants to put up decorations and bust out the Christmas-y music halfway through November, and I can never really stop her. So to get back at her, I always tell her I'm not going to put up decorations at all when I move out. Also, the very premise of this topic is flawed, because the list of annoying Christmas music is nearly endless. It would be much more efficient to ask people if there are any Christmas songs that they do like, because then I could have simply said "no" instead of writing this.  |

Endless amounts of Christmas likes. :D! I mean, I LIKE many Christmas tunes but there are specific ones that drive me insane (as noted in my previous posts). I tend to avoid radio stations that pump out the stuff 24/7 during this month because it's apparently an unwritten law that they same 10 songs must be played over and over! I know the excuse is that they're popular and you only hear them during this time of the year but ... grr! |

I hate most pop renditions of Christmas music, or modern-styled Christmas songs on principal.
HOWEVER! Two songs in particular drive me to a vicious, seething rage of hate when I hear them:
- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
- Jingle Bell Rock
I don't know why, to be quite honest. But I've always despised them.
My preferred Christmas music is pretty much all traditional choral stuff. Coventry Carol, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and so on.
