Guh.
Was reading the GameSpot comments for the news of Birth by Sleep's release this summer and a crap ton of people write "I bought the PSP just for this game!" or "Thank God for this game! The PSP has no good games!"
Seeing people write this sort of stuff makes me sad. ;__;
There are SO many games on that system -- in both Japanese and English! There be lots of demos! They should try them before making such generalizations! >:(

Yeah Serpentina I kind of put on there as a bonus, but this is my first time burning an Ys-related CD so I forgot how many GREAT songs there are and how few of them will fit on one CD. I'll probably axe it
Crimson Ruins is gonna go on there now that I think of it. V had some really good music! I like how In the Cradle ended up right in the middle of the playlist, as a sort of intermission. Vacant Interference would be a nice pick too I can't believe I Forgot that one, actually. The Depth Napishtim is still by far my favorite boss music in the series but Seven's were actually very, very good as well
And I agree so, so hard about the PSP. I don't use mine as much anymore because I feel like I've beaten everything I'd be able to play to the end, but seeing as that was like 40 or more games, I DEFINITELY got my money's worth out of the system and its software library. I actually did buy PoPoLocrois and Aedis Eclipse for like 4 bucks each the other day though so I need to tear into those pretty soon.

I'm just glad there's someone else out there who knows the greatness of The Depth Napishtim. I freakin' LOVE that song, but as I believe we've discussed before, it always seems to go unnoticed... but as final battle music goes, it's probably my favorite in the series! ... Well, actually, I dunno, The Strongest Foe gives it a run for its money. But it's a close second, at least! Oh, and since you say you just purchased PoPoLoCrois... I've given you my whole spiel on the differences between the PSP version and the original PS1 games, right? Not that I want to detract from anyone's enjoyment of the PSP game, I just want to make sure they're at least aware (A) that the game is woefully incomplete, (B) that it gets significantly better after about 8 hours, and (C) that the series is better than the PSP game might suggest. -Tom I want to hear all of this but after I finish the PSP one. I don't want to play through the game knowing I'm playing a gimped product, I'd rather hear all of that after the fact

Aah, yeah, I got it. I'm gonna revise the tracklist this afternoon. I'll mostly make the 4, 5 and 7 changes. I'm pretty set with my favorite picks from the other games, especially VI! Thanks for the input

Seriously good choices Lunar, but I would (since you have Serpentina from Zwei) suggest Warriors if you own VMJ OST. I have no doubt your friend will be utterly utterly impressed!
If not, Evildoer from Xanadu Next? Just because it's VERY Ys. xD

I think if I listened to it 100 more times, I may like but upon first listen, it's not something I'd put into my Falcom compilation CD. ^^ One day I'm gonna try and force myself to listen to as many Falcom vocals as I can just to see how many of them I actually like because I'm convinced that Falcom vocal versions are generally mediocre to horrible. For yakra or anyone else: Big fat Zwei!! image: pics.livejournal.com/nunuu/pic/002htrdp/Sorry to anyone using a desktop that's 1900xwhatever as the image will be a tad small for that resolution. :P

Put THE PLACE WHERE SOULS RETURN on it 25 times and you'll have the best Ys mixtape ever.

Fuck I wish I could fit the YsO version of Termination on there. The violin part right around the 4 minute mark is heart melting

The first set of solos is by far the best part of Origin's Termination. I seriously love that.

Really, the Chronicles version of Palace of Solomon? It's not my favourite version, but Palace of Solomon is one of my favourite tracks of all time. It might fall behind Palace from Ys I.

I dunno, I surprisingly like the Complete version of the song a lot, and then the TG-16 version. The way the synth wails is beautiful.
Chronicles version is dandy though.

Thatone wasn't bad. It's not great but it's not as offensive as like Mighty Obstacle: The Wind of Zemeth or anything

I can see why you'd like it, but for me I think it's the kind of thiing I have to be in the right mindset to fully enjoy. Maybe someday I can go to a JDK Band concert

You know, learning "tough Texan" is a lot harder than learning any other dialect. Reading between the lines, trying to figure out "Hey, this isn't meant to be insulting, it's meant to be helpful!". But damn if I have a hard time believing it's not meant to be insulting sometimes!

I'm fairly certain the dial-up service my family used before cable was the new big thing ran faster than this. FFS, pages should not take minutes to load. My uni's wifi is absolute BOLLOCKS.
..Which is a word I like to use an awful lot even though I am not British. *hits post reply, and waits 2 minutes for page to load*

You need to start using Opera. I find it loads pages 2X faster than Firefox, and the way it handles RSS is awesome.
