It's a shame you haven't gotten to play it... I'm torn on whether or not it's even better than Raiden DX, and that's my favorite shmup ever. The difficulty balancing, enemy and bullet patterns, music, graphics, art design, and pretty much anything else you can think of are just flawless. Plus, it has a global leaderboard system that is actually worth tracking, as high scorers usually have replays saved of their runs.
Also, Double mode is insanely hard and insanely fun. Piloting two ships with one controller? Count me in!

My cellphone camera is worse than your iPhone~! X'D [My pics are so badly taken that.... I think I'll just stop even trying to make them nice~ X'''''D]X'D The Tactics Ogre artbook finally arrived in le mail today! And... my god... it is SO gorgeous that it is almost... unbelievable. When I automatically, and without thought, placed me order for it, the moment I saw it on Play-Asia, I was expecting a normal paperback, okie looking, and a nice (but certainly not jaw-dropping!) book. Much like that Ys Seven one, next to it there. :'D What arrived in my mail though.... wai! :'D I don't think I have felt this obsessively excited about any artbook since the last... nunuu's RG Veda ones. I can't believe this is so amazingly designed and hardback~! *___* *insert more hyper fangirly babblings about beautiful papers and printings* *kicked* X'D I almost feel bad though that the poor Ys Seven artbook is being ignored by me because of that. It really is super nice! (I'm most amused, somehow, by one portrait/profile page of Tia. :'D She's still smiling as calmly and serenely as she always is, even when in Altago-destruction modes?! X'D) Also.... when thumbing through the Ys book I found this in there. What... is this? :'D? A Ys card game? Did you all find one too in your artbooks (all of you guys who have it, atleast!). And is it the same as mine? Or different? :'D And while I'm spamming the artbooks over here... The books from SkyeWelse also came in the mail last week. Yay for things from the US still making it to Pakistan?! *got greedy and grabbed the extra books that SkyeWelse had, since the artwork was so pretty~* And.... since I'm spamming away all that.... slightly older stuff that I never when 'whee~!' about because one was too lazy~! (Would anyone want proper pics/scans of the cards? I remember Kimimi mentioning something like so, waaaay back? Ye still want them? :'D?) [Also! What grand page-pic spamming by me! Sorry! Either I don't post anything at all, or I post essays! D:]
*spams more purchasey pics just for the sake of spamming* *kicked by all*
X'''D♫ On a side note, I want that Radiant Historia. ._.' I thought only pre-orders got that CD! :'D

The soundtrack won me over first! Then I got hyped enough to actually jump off and buy the game!

SO...WANT...THEM... *___* Can you scan those books? I can always try? X'D They really are super super pretty, and I would love to share le prettiness with ye all if I can. X'D (I'm still super grateful to ye, SkyeWelse!!!) I'm not sure how much of them I would be able to manage before either me or me scanner conks it though~ X'''D (Or how good the scans would be, since I don't want to break le spine. :'D) *shall try though!* That is a LOT! D:! I almost wish I was in the US and could help ye grab them somehow! :'D .....Can't you grab them off the PSN though? I.... have never accessed that (ho ho ho~! How backward am I?! *the ignorant*), but can't people outside the US set their region to US and buy off there? I think the XSeed releases seemed WAY cheaper! (And even more affordable for a present asking! *bad idea giver*)

Yakra, if you like exceptional writing, a moving story, and fantastic character interaction, you'll probably like Nier. Just don't go being a depressed wreck for weeks after beating it, like I did.
I liked the writing so much that I did all the sidequests I could without a guide just for the dialogue.

I just RealityLapsed that entire series last week, but am waiting to finish Guin before starting it. *beaten for posting in wrong thread about anime* You should share some thoughs (so I better know what to expect). I've read some mixed opinions; many stating that it's very slow paced, but also that it's very tense, and carries a strong presence of psychological thrillerness. I'm assuming, from that, that I'll like it.

Ah, silly sleep deprived me! I failed to realize you were talking about the manga. I plan to watch the anime. Of course, they're sure to be fairly consistently related. . . but maybe the pacing will be a. . . bit better. (74 episodes! And not Bleach, Naruto, or Inuyasha!) I'll be sure to share my own opinions on the active motion version of Monster in a week or two!

Glad you got the books Yakra and that you are enjoying them! : ) They are really nice and the artwork inside is nothing short of amazing work. But, and it's completely up to you if you want to go through with it or not, but on the last page of each of the doujinshis the artist asks that the books not be scanned electronically and distributed. That's been the one thing holding me back actually from sharing them with the entire Ys community, but if you are going to go about scanning them, I'd take photos of them personally rather than mess up the binding or bending the pages. I think a photo would probably be the easiest too.

Bad pics taken! And.... they're REALLY bad. I'm almost feeling ashamed by their quality. ._.' But no matter how much I tried, I couldn't manage to take better shots.... ._.' *reminder to self: invest in a good camera finally please!* I hope no one minds me posting them in this very thread? Say hallo to lots of picture spams~ X'D I tried to take a bit from each section. (The book is sort of divided into 5 parts - publicity arts, character arts, concept sketches of the characters, world setting, and old arts. One of the most fascinating things that I'm seeing from this whole book though is that... apparently, despite all the super crediting to Akihiko Yoshida, and almost nu credit to Tsubasa Masao, apparently most of the character artworks, the world sketches, and everything that one sees in-game, and in concept artworks, are done by Masao, based off Yoshida's old designs. :'D Seems like Akihiko Yoshida's just done the art direction and publicity artworks (like the tarots!). (Sorry if I'm stating the obvious. X'D I was just surprised seeing how much Tsubasa Masao had a hand in! :'D *ignorant*)Um... anyways, less babbling, more pics. ^ ^;;;~ Le book starts off with the publicity artworks by Akihiko Yoshida. Followed up with the character arts. Hirm.... I hope none of those would be considered spoiler worthy? (A Random Law Vyce/Vice included simply because, despite how much I hate him [though he's more bearable and actually likable in this Law route I'm going through now!] he looks so... em... nice [X'D], and a Iuria, because I see no official art of her online~ I am a bit disappointed by how there is no proper coloured art of <spoiler class!> Princess</end spoiler class Catiua/Kachua or Divine Knights. ) The next section is my most favourite part of the book~ <3 Concept arts! The... next particular images could be a bit spoilery (for any who are playing for the first time ever?) so.... I'll just put them under spoiler tags? :'D For some odd reason, Raveness' concept page is REALLY fleshed out. X'D The creators seem to be VERY fond of her! Next be the world setting section! This section has the world maps, emblems and banners of each nation, and.... arts of each location. To be exact, proper clear pictures of the backgrounds that are used in the stages which have more than one map in them (such as Hellgate, or the fortresses). Somehow.... actually... this is my least favourite section out of the whole book...? There's nothing wrong with it! Somehow though, compared to the rest, I just haven't felt much compulsion to ogle at it most. :'D I ended up taking (super bad!) pics of all the area paintings/pictures though, as ye seemed the most interested in those. X'D And the last section~! ...Would this count as the 6th section? Interviews of the artists. :'D This is probably the only most wordy section of this book. Though I can't understand a word here, I kind of like such sections to see... what the artists' workplaces look like. X'D And if they are as messy as me. *shot* I ended up taking pics of all this section too, incase there are someone actually wants to read what they said (if my bad pics are actually readable!), since... as with all Japanese stuff, it's just wasted on me. X'D The end~! Sorry again for such... horrid pics. Maybe some good scans will come out someday...? ._.' I have such earthquake hands! D:
[Extra! Just incase le Kimimi wants to see, more pics of the actual outer bit of the book here and here. :'D]Cards shall be scanned tomorrow! :'D Sorry for such a huge wall of text! D': Also~! (Let me make this obnoxious wall of text even more obnoxious X'D *shot*) Glad you got the books Yakra and that you are enjoying them! : ) They are really nice and the artwork inside is nothing short of amazing work. But, and it's completely up to you if you want to go through with it or not, but on the last page of each of the doujinshis the artist asks that the books not be scanned electronically and distributed. I think a photo would probably be the easiest too. -Thomas Oh.... O___O''' A good thing you mentioned that, as I never read that. ...Or could read that. X'D :'D Um..... would Karura be too upset then if... I.. didn't scan? I'm so sorry... It's just that, even if I'm a rotten pirate around games, when it comes to artwork, and the artist asking for no distributions, I can kind of really relate. X'D *odd Yakra honours of treating other artists as one oneself would like to be treated?!* I can take pics of a few pages inside though! The one's I find the prettiest! :'D I'm sure that can do no harm! :'''D And... Yakra, if you like exceptional writing, a moving story, and fantastic character interaction, you'll probably like Nier. Just don't go being a depressed wreck for weeks after beating it, like I did. I liked the writing so much that I did all the sidequests I could without a guide just for the dialogue. You've made me even more super excited about Nier! Now I just need to find the time to sit down and play it. X''''D A good story is just what I love! (I was also excited about the fact that it apparently ties in into the Drakengard-verse? I actually loved that game, as morbidly depressingly disturbing it was... X''''D *shot*)

Glad ye enjoyed them despite my bad photography! X'D (Annoyingly, for my wallet, there's another companion book to this, which shall be out later this month, which seems to be a collection of texts on the world the Ogre series takes place in....? I'm not sure if I can afford that too, though....)
