Yep~! It's about that much! I heard Amazon Japan is a wee bit cheaper...? But I wonder if you can access that. I couldn't atleast.  I can buy books from them, but they have all these ridiculous fees with imports these days (and force you to use EMS), so I haven't bothered with them for years ;_; ... Just checked again and for a single £5 book they wanted £29 in shipping. Seriously. |

Kimimi: Amazon Japan actually ships via DHL (at least to Canada.) But yeah, their shipping prices are AWFUL. Sucks because they have such a wonderful selection...

Good question. I was thinking this morning about how to explain the series to someone, but couldn't come up with an answer. It's an anime about growing up and the reality of childhood dreams set to sword fights and enough symbolism to make Evangelion proud... Also features one of my favorite uses of Greek Chorus I've seen in anime. Top it off with an amazingly eclectic soundtrack that you can hear examples of in the anime BGM & OP/ED topics. And then other times it's just silly and chock full of stock scenes and filler episodes. Suffers from a little bit from the age from whence it came, with stock footage and filler. The entire second season never happens (though in this case that's not a bad thing). |

I was aghast when I found out that the back of the case had equally awesome art, but it was covered up by a sell sheet. And a magical girl show? In the very loosest sense, yeah maybe you could call it that.. there's a Sailor Moon-esque format about the episodes, especially in the beginning, there's a transformation, there's a cute pet thing that doesn't look like a real animal I mean, according to the translated liner notes in that DVD box set, most of the premise was inspired by this excerpt from Herman Hesse's Demian: "The bird struggles out of the egg. The egg is the world. Whoever wants to be born, must destroy a world. The bird flies to God. That God's name is Abraxas." |

You have Ys V!!! That's such a pretty case... Yep yep, surprised I found it myself. Pretty cheap too. Its a weird case though. Its a cardboard box that unfolds through the back, not the top or bottom :/ Still made well. |

A reasonable £150 Technically there were some slightly cheaper/better value deals abroad, but none that were so cheap that customs tax wouldn't have wiped out the difference. Currently have Garou Densetsu 2 and Blue's Journey here at home, Samurai Spirits 2 is in the post, and I've got my eye on a few eBay auctions too. I'm taking it at a much slower pace than when I previously owned my old AES (and MVS) - I kinda burnt myself out financially with the excitement of it all and ended up with a pile of awesome games... that I paid far too much for. I have an actual plan this time so I can savour every moment without feeling guilty |
