Well, this makes me sad (& sick to my stomach thinking about it) but, here is an example of the hate that people have towards Christians, at the very least, in Bulgaria:

Apparently, the political group that did this disgusting thing, was also the same people that put this on the web, as if it's something to be proud of! Also, apparently they are chanting "First a sect, now a mafia" or something like that. First of all, we've never been a sect. A sect is a group that splintered off from another religion. Though it wasn't mentioned, for reference, we're also not a cult. A cult is a group who follows a human leader.....& then kill themselves to achieve sainthood or whatever they call it.
As for the mafia thing? I have no idea what orifice they pulled that out of. I'm guessing that's just a combination of pure ignorance, & someone telling them we're violent or something? That's my only guess.
I do try to put myself in the situation as the bros. & sisters that were attacked in Bulgaria. Especially since I believe that religion in general will be attacked soon. Many relgions have done horrible things in the name of God. Who knows how many wars, genocides, etc. were instigated by religion? It gives other religions a bad name.
This kind of stuff ofcoarse hasn't happend in the US for awhile. I think it was primarily in the 40's when JW's were persecuted, some were even tarred & feathered, as cliche(& horrible) as that sounds. And children were kicked out of school. I think it had to do with us not fighting in wars & not getting involved in politics & just staying neutral.
And at the same time, thousands of us were thrown into concentration camps in Germany, since, like their US bros. & sisters, wouldn't fight in wars, nor would they even heil Hitler. I do believe, this kind of stuff will happen again. I don't know that religious people will end up in concentration camps in the US, but I do personally believe we'll all be persecuted greatly in some manner.
Some may doubt this, but, a country can change fairly rapidly. And there's already plenty of hate against us in the US now. Between people flipping out & pulling shotgun's on us or just cussing us out. A friend of mine a couple weeks ago in my area was handing out invitations to the memorial of Christ's death/the last supper, & a guy yelled at him after he left it at his door, & wrote *f*%# you" on the invitation & handed it back, & as yelling at him for awhile. Thankfully, depsite his great anger, he didn't get violent!
