Yeah wasn't PC Ys Chronicles released on Christmas Eve last year?

It sounds funny until you remember that it's Japan we're talking about. Niether Christmas or its Eve is a holiday there and the percentage of Japanese who actually care about the holiday for its religious significance are so few in number as to be almost statistically insignificant so... no real problem with releasing games on that day.

Okay, so they dropped the ball on that one. That should give them extra incentive to make sure this year's Xmas release is an awesome one.

Hopefully, they won't pull another dickass move like porting PSP games to PC without optimizing them or re-releasing games for Windows 7 with minor new additions.

Yeah, they just won't port or release anything on PC ever again.

Well, it must be a strong PC to run Jpcsp. And look at the FPS in the picture, it's 28,4 ! It will not "smooth" like playing on PSP, but better than nothing !!

Or you could like pay for Ys Seven since it's the best portable game of the past decade Can we not assume everyone who wants to emulate the game has pirated it? Yes, most people probably have, but there seems to be this idea around the internet that only pirates use emulators. Which is nonsense. If you have any actual evidence this guy has no intention of buying the game though then by all means.

I don't believe he said ANYTHING about pirating Ys Seven -- he could just as easily own Ys Seven, and rip it via PSP utilities, and then run it on his computer -- no? ...but at 28 FPS?! Pfft!!! See, that's why I use RemoteJoyLite! I can assure you I've played Ys Seven entirely with my PSP hooked up to my laptop, thanks to RJL, and it doesn't look THAT bad at all! By comparison, I'm sure RJL looks more like a chocolate glazed donut; to hell with the emulator! // Varion beat me to the punch! This pleases me.

k, I take back what I said before
I dunno, I'd rather just wait for a full console or PC release to play Seven on a big screen. I'm not a fan of how it looks blown up on my monitor or the TV either =\

It's still a holiday in Japan, it's just... not a RELIGIOUS holiday. Christmas in Japan is like Valentine's Day II. Or III, I suppose, what with White Day and all. Exactly. Hence Christmas editions of games over the years. -ud

Ys Seven for the PS3 would be ridiculously cool. I would buy it again right away if that version got localized as well. Change the console to XBox 360 and I am right there with you. Since I absolutely refuse to ever purchase a Playstation 3, getting this game again for that platform is a no-go. Then again, Ys Seven is what prompted me to get a PSP; so if the game were debuting on that console, there is a good chance I would have caved in this stance.

Why do you refuse to get a PS3 now? I mean, it's not a bad console at all anymore; it actually has some really strong exclusives

I hate the company that makes it. I also absolutely refuse to ever pirate games, so I had no choice but to buy a PSP since I wanted to play Ys Seven. Had it come out for the PC or Wii instead, I would not own a PSP at all.

I'm sorry, but what kind of reason is that? >_> If the PS3 was made by Nintendo and the Wii by Sony, and everything else about the consoles (including game libraries) was the same as now, would you instead despise the Wii? That seems rather silly, tbh. Nintendo doesn't give a damn about you either... you're nothing but a walking wallet to all three major companies. What really baffles me is that you apparently don't have an issue with Microsoft, even though they're just as bad (if not worse) as Sony.
But whatever works for you, I suppose.

I know people have strong feelings about different companies and all, but objectively speaking, it seems like a quality device. Money's one thing, but not buying a system solely because of the manufacturer feels block-headed. To each his own I guess.

Laharl isn't ever going to the 360, you know.
Nothing too wrong with Sony, except the Move, but then Microsoft is doing the same thing too.
HJ does have a point, it does have quite a few good releases now. I'd sooner get a PS3 over a 360 now.

Gosh, this sounds like someone that refused to buy the PSP because it was not a comfortable system to play on or something. :P
I find it strange that people would deny themselves good and fun games solely based on the system that they're being released on. Well, at least they're saving money. ^^
