Yeah, it seems kinda pointless, and not really 'perfect' if it removes part of the song. Due to my raging fanboying of A Great Ordeal, I was pretty pissed when they removed several guitar riffs from the song in the Perfect Collection.

Given the number of Ys 7 songs on this album, can we think of this as their way of saying that the multiplatform version of the game will have an instrumental soundtrack? I mean, for the 2008 cd, they had 'Tower of the Shadow of Death' and a year later, out comes Ys Chronicles.

It hasn't. I don't think a JDK Band version of the more electronic-y Ys VI songs would do the tracks justice, either =\ . There's a lot going on in those songs that's really only made possible because of the synth sounds and how they're layered on each other.

Ancient Disputation was a bit disappointing to me too. It's not bad, it's just not as amazing as I'd like for a final boss theme.

Especially after the 3 previous Ys releases having The Depth Napishtim, Termination(YsO version) and the new version of The Strongest Foe.
It's not the WORST final boss theme(lol The Ordeal Becomes Great) but I wasn't as impressed with it as some of the others. That might also be in part because the songs you hear in the game that lead up to that fight are pretty amazing.
