There's a trailer for Ys IV that never got produced. Kind of a bummer.

It was going to be based on Dawn of Ys too...

The trailer was for investors and has no voice acting, only music. It introduces the character. If I recal correctly it was going to be a 24 episode series with two OVA's.
it's everywhere on youtube

A bit off-topic, but a bit on-topic... www.rpgamer.com/news/Q3-2010/092810e.htmlThe RPG Gamer article reports that Recetter has sold 26,000 downloads - this is data from the guys handling the release, not some NDP 'poll' on digital downloads. What got my attention was one of the replies on AOD on it, was about some Falcom games really needed to come to the US via digital download. Given the criteria of low-cost and PC exclusive, leaves only...Xanadu Next. Hmmm... C.T.

My criteria of PC exclusive is subject to leeway, but it is hard to see any digital download of a Falcom game succeeding if the cost of localizing it is high. Xanadu Next and VM Japan do sound like good candidates, especially since they probably have more appeal to US computer gamers. Zwei II...possibly not so much.

Okay you know what. Falcon failure is within all of your posts.
People downloading games, instead of buying them directly from Falcon. People downloading the animations instead of requesting for VHS, LD, VCD copy. Falcon porting from the PC engine to the Super Famicom Falcon releasing that god auwful Island game, instead of just making up stories. Network gaming, that makes people wants to play together. Falcom comming up with all kinds of crazy idea's like allowing people to play as Dogi, Fact, etc. Falcon dissing there original series, like with everybody else trying to gain sale for rereleases. Whwere is Falcons main mail order page
Falcom should just release PC engine games, and and give one big lugi to the god forsaken future consoles. Everybody knows that was there prime. They should also drop the Newtype and just continue the original animation series. They should translate a page into english for us to order from.

regalsin crankin' out those quality posts lately.
It was already proven that he's a well-known troll though, so I guess the staff just keeps him around for laughs or something like that.

Yeah Falcon sucks. Stupid bird! Death to Falcon!
But, Floof, I don't really think a desire for an English page is an entitlement statement. Any business that gets traffic from foreign speakers tends to pick up some of the language in order to increase revenue; considering they actually teach some rudimentary Engrish in Japan, I don't think catering to English speaking fans is out of the question. There DOES seem to be a fair number of us.

His history with other forums isn't relevant to ALoY; he has to do something offensive here. Until then, it is not yet his time. regalsin: Please, feel free to click the 'delete' button when you accidentally double-post. I'll do it for you this time, but next time, be careful with that post/back button.

They should translate a page into english for us to order from. After reading your post, I'm not confident that you understand English so I'm not sure how this would help you

They should stop insisting on EMS only shipping for foreigners - that's what'd get me back and ordering from the again; I can't afford to pay triple shipping costs (plus customs charges!) just for a set of bonus postcards these days.

Funny, I thought he was banned after the mess that led to the death of the Storyline FAQ thread, seeing that all his other posts went down with it.
Anyhow, not sure why he cares about anything since he seems to think that nothing Falcom has done since the PCE games they didn't even make are worth anything. Love how he talks about 'Falcon failure' by downloading games instead of ordering direct from Falcom (even though most of us do order directly so I dunno what paint thinner he's huffing) but he can't seem to figure out how to order from Falcom himself. Then again, they probably wouldn't understand him even if he could figure out the right email address. I'd pay to see the conversation where they tell him that they know their games better than he does though.

Wish I knew what happened in that thread... xD I couldn't check in time.
Anyway, to me, he seems to be a member who has trouble trying to word his thoughts, and seems to be very narrow-minded, but I don't think he has bad intentions nor anything like so. I'm with Unsavory in this, personally.

I would be inclined to agree if circumstances were different, but someone who's a well-known troll with a wiki page dedicated to him, going on an Ys board and saying all the newer games are non-canon fanservice games and other nonsensical stuff like that? Seems pretty clear to me that he's a troll employing the "so stupid you can't help but flame him"-tactic. But if the staff thinks differently, there's nothing I can do about that, and I'll just have to respect their decision.

I know this post is contradicting to its own existence, but should we even care if trolls come onto the boards spouting shit. I've seen my friends do stuff like that in a random spare minute, just to see how people react. It's a sad waste of time, but I've got to admit, it's also kind of funny. On that note, shouldn't we just ignore people like that and not give them the satisfaction?

The first thing that came up was the phrase "batshit crazy." Evidently he's been 'round for years, banned all over the place. There's even a forum dedicated to "figuring him out." Popular vote seems to be that he's either mentally disturbed, or performing a long-range social experiment. Why ban him? I welcome the entertainment. Who here's really sane anyway? FIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Und Wyrd, big surprise you'd pick MY post to contradict *grumble grumble*. I wasn't saying that Falcom necessarily SHOULD have an English page, just that I don't think it would be wholly unfitting. While I have no idea as to sales percentages (obviously native is infinitely higher than foreign), I actually think that basing their English speaking fan base off this forum is quite an insult to Falcom. I was a fan long before discovering this forum, and I don't doubt that a great big ole number of people purchase from them without any desire to post about them. While I'm admittedly ignorant of Japan's present economical status, from a general business sense I just think that hiring SOMEBODY to aid in foreign affairs would economically balance out. But as I said: Ignorant. So I don't really know how much the upkeep would hit their wallets contrasted with the obvious increase from their expanded services.

Also, while rudimentary English IS mandatory education in Japan... well... you'd have to work within the Japanese education system to understand, but trust me: you can't count on ANYONE retaining ANY of what they supposedly learned in English class. Unless a Japanese person actually wants to get a job in the international marketplace or overseas, he/she basically has no REASON to learn English... so in most cases, he/she doesn't! That's very interesting. American English is kind of the universal language (don't mean to sound arrogant or anything) so it seems like everyone would want to learn it. At the same time though, I could see myself not wanting to take the time to learn another language as well. You worked in Japan, right Wyrdy? If so I guess you would know all about it.

FIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <Showing my age here>He is still nowhere of a legend compared to Archimedes Plutonium - a reference only those (current and former) denizens of UseNet would understand. At least AP was generally benign - he just posted very strange things (And from a graduate student account at Dartmouth University.). I think Falcom would benefit more from having a Chinese and/or Korean language page, over an English language one. I would hope that XSeed can change that, but it is easier to imagine more Chinese and Koreans been fans of Falcom games right now, then English speakers who share the same interest. C.T.
