Does anyone else here play the DJ Max games?
It is one of the only game series I like almost as much as Ys.

I play DJ Max! Currently playing Trilogy and grinding levels in DJ Max Portable 3.
Wish I had a copy of Black Square though. I personally found that to be the best in the PSP series. Though I suppose Trilogy fills in the void nicely with the amount of songs, customization, features and the online content.

The only two I don't have are Trilogy and 3, but I plan to pick up a japanese limited edition of 3 before too long.
I really like Black Square, however I think I like the first game better. The first game had my favorite songs, and I liked the simple tour mode; my only problem with the first game was its horrible unlocking system.

The third game is the weakest entry, in my opinion. I paid 150 bucks to get my copy shipped (I bought the Limited Edition when bemanistyle were taking preorders for them. My location also increased the price) and the game wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
The game forces you to song grind an insane amount to unlock content, and unlike the previous games, the whole game is kinda easy. I wouldn't mind the song grinding if the selection was bigger. There's no hard versions of each songs, and there's no 5 button mode. The tracklist isn't very strong either, imo. Not to mention, there's barely any "new" songs, so to speak. A very large chunk of the songs are remixes, and besides Whiteblue and the NB ranger, I wasn't impressed with the other remixes.
On the plus side, they recently released a patch that improves the leveling system so that it's a lot less tedious. The DJ Remix system thing is pretty neat, even if it doesn't change much. Lastly, it's still pretty fun, even if it is more flawed than the other entries.
My opinion of the series is... Top Tier: Trilogy Best on the PSP: Black Square, and DJ Max 2 Good: DJ Max 1 Still DJ max, but not as good as the others: 3, Clazziquai

Uh yeah, every now and then, some folks (re: mostly me) will yak about music games in this thread. And yes, DJMP3 kind of sucks. I think the thing held my attention for probably less than a week before I shelved it. I believe I even played Hot Tunes more than that bloody thing. Trilogy is worth shelling out money for mainly cuz of its tracklist. To me, it's the equivalent of a "best of" album! I love so many tunes on that version and playing the game on the keyboard is a different experience! I do wish my keyboard wasn't so freakin' loud though. :P Sometimes, I end up using headphones since I can't turn out the speaker volume too loud. >_>

Hmm...Now I'm not really sure if I will be getting 3. I really enjoyed Hot Tunes...until I unlocked Bloody Manicure.... I do really want Trilogy, but I haven't been able to bring myself to pay $70 shipped for it.
