I also have a piece in mind that I think would be fun and new to illustrate for the Ys series, but I don't think I'll have time for this run. Maybe a future contest. : )

Thanks to the wonders of technology even though I haven't seen my brother for a week he was able to pose for a few reference shots for my picture so I was able to get that started - yay! I'm trying to do a little bit a day so that I don't panic and scare myself off ^^~

Yay! I got the blue-line rough of mine done the other day. Gonna let it stew for a bit before I lay down the final graphite lines, though. The whole composition turned out a little fancier than I initially planned, but hey.  |

Shining porn is pretty great -- Jack Nicholson is hard to top though, so it is a little underwhelming when he smiles.

That does look awesome. I'd get one if I still drew at all.
When I was working on my web comic book I played around with doing blue pencil layouts.. though that was mainly because I pencil in .5mm and tend to draw my lines hard (as in almost etch them into the paper) so it was hard to erase my sketches after inking.
On top, I do have a few ideas for this.. One idea for line art sketch (since I suck at coloring) that I just need to get a day or two on a weekend free to attempt. Then something else I just happened to work on and thought hey, this applies to that Falcom art thingy!

I was wondering what blue lining pencils were too until I saw this! Wai! I want these!!! *___* ....I once saw one of my students with one of these... but ever since then, I've never seen any in stock in the shops here. (How lovely a brown pencil like so would be!) On topic, about the grand painting - I ended getting too swarmed with work and.... my grand painting plans seem to be reduced to a... not so grand form.  *makes something anyways though! even if it is simple!* |

I was able to lay down a good chunk of work today so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself, now I just have to fiddle and hope I don't much up what I've just done |

Well the image I was going to do was going to be an 18x24 awesomesauce work. Unfortunately, I have to reduce it to a standard 9x12 sketchbook size due to both time and material constraints. Detail will be mourned.
