A topic for all things Wii? :O
Well, actually, I wanted to ask if any of you actually make use of the Internet, Weather, and News channels. I think each channel held my attention for about 2 minutes each.
Power to the people that have embraced them.

I got the Wii because of Wario Ware. Ironically, I still haven't gone out to buy it yet. :P As for the PS3, I just read in the paper (well, more like the paper online) today that Sony may be considering a price cut. I hope they do cuz I can honestly say the price tag is the main factor that's keeping me away from it. :/ I mean, I will get it. Eventually.

I got my Wii cuz I really wanted Wii Sports, Metal Slug Anthology, and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (that one was a big disappointment), I loved the idea of Virtual Console (Bomberman 93, Castlevania IV, and all those Turbo shooters are friggen AWESOME), and I eventually want Mario Galaxy (my most wanted game) as well as Super Smash Bros. Brawl (i know this game will last me 4 years, cuz SSBM did). looks like im at opposites with you, deuce, as nothing interest me that's coming up for PS3 (except maybe KOFMI3, which wont be out till 2009... and probably will be ported to 360, at least). I'm trying to gather cash for Wario Ware at the moment. But then, 8 player puzzle bobble and SSX come out soon too I love wii sports though... it's awesome when my mom and dad come up to me and ask me to play some wii sports with them. Which US-released TurbografX 16 games should I be waiting for? Which should I already have?? You guys are the Turbo-geezers, so I'm sure you should know

Wario Ware is nuts if you've got the friends for multi-player.
I got mine on launch for Metroid Prime 3 and Dragon Quest Swords.. then both of them were pushed back but I still picked my preorder up and settled for Zelda.

I wasn't planning to buy a Wii, but I ended up camping out on launch night with friends because I was bored, and in the morning I had made up my mind to do so, and I'm not sorry. Trauma Center and Elebits are what I'm playing on it now, but I loved the hell out of Excite Truck and I will probably go on to try to complete mirror mode with all S rankings. It's a lot of fun. Haven't played Wario Ware myself yet... As for the TG16 games on VC, get Super Star Soldier and Soldier Blade! They're awesome. Word has it that Dragon's Curse is coming. Being that I have the hucard, it'd be hard to justify buying it again, but I just might.

Soldier Blade is much easier, but both are great games. I'm on the fence about which one I like more, as they're different, but you can't go wrong with either. Haven't gotten Dungeon Explorer or Bomberman yet because my apartment's so small, but I'm pushing for friends to pick up either one so we can play on their bigger TV. I've heard DE's quite good, like Gauntlet with some depth added.

Yeah, I'm waiting for that one. I hear some prefer Alien Crush more though. Still, I've really got a thing for pinball (I enjoyed Metroid Pinball more than Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS).

Dungeon Explorer = ugh. Kinda fun to play it with friends though. If you can stand the horrible graphics (everything is brown).

I hear surprisingly good things about the Rayman game on Wii.
Which is surprising, because Rayman and good usually don't cross on my mind.

Rayman 2 was a good game. Rayman for Wii is really funny sometimes, but otherwise it's not my cup of tea. Here's my recommendations for Wii (well, more like what I like and what I really want):
Wii Sports - it comes with the system anyways Excite Truck - I wish I had this... some of the videos i've seen are crazy Metal Slug Anthology - a must have until the PS2 version releases Super Monkey Ball: BB - awesome if you haven't played the 1st two in the series Zelda - if you don't have it for GC. both versions have their little perks, though Red Steel - at least a good rental if you're in to shooters, especially Rare shooters Wario Ware Super Swing Golf - it's better than Wii Golf, so if you're in to golf this is awesome Elebits - probably the best use of the wii remote thus far Trauma Center
releasing in the first quarter of the year: Bust-a-move Bash (8 players, 250 puzzles... this makes me drool) SSX Blur (even if you're not into SSX or snowboarding games, this game may change that) Super Paper Mario (i cant explain this one... do a google search, I think it's more than worth the wait for April)
later in the year: No More Heroes (probably the most mature game for Wii, from the makers of Killer 7) Project HAMMER (looks fun and original to me) Disaster: Day of Destruction (a survival-action game) Metroid Prime 3 (might take the series in a direction i dont like, but still a must have) Super Smash Bros. Brawl (looks like more of the same, but im sure it'll still rock) Kororinpa (extreme Marble Madness... yay) Super Mario Galaxy
there's much more but these are the only ones I'm interested in. Fire Emblem should be great too, but I'm not into strategy RPGs.
If it weren't for Zelda and Excitetruck, with the games that are out right now I'd refer to the console as a multiplayer/party console. At least it's also the best supporter of 2D/classic gaming out of the current consoles.

I've only experienced the Wii with Red Steel, and I just gotta say I didn't like it. It was very difficult for myself to aim with the Wiimote, the funny thing is.. my real world job basically revolves around weapons handling! But still I can't judge the system from only 1 game. I'm still looking forward to trying out Trauma Center, Elebits, and SSBB.

Actually a lot of people who like the console are complaining about Red Steel's controls... so that seems to be a fault with the game, not the system itself. I wouldn't let it put you off

A ton of people, including myself, my brother, and everyone I know who has played the game, have been able to get Red Steel's controls down in 5 to 20 minutes. You also need to set the options perfectly such as fix the sensitivity, turn rumble off, and in some cases turn the remote's speaker off too. It's not a perfect example of Wii controls, but it's not broken either. Most people who hate red steel don't take the time to get used to the controls or aren't used to the kind of FPS it is (usually those are the people who spend a lot of time playing faster-paced PC shooters). I've only spent time playing some multiplayer with my brother only because it reminded me of my Goldeneye days, but i've seen my brother blazing through single player getting a ton of headshots. My only complaint with the game is lack of multiplayer options and single player is a little too short and straight forward.

Rayman 2 was and is one of the finest 3D platformers ever made. Hell yes! Rayman 2 is a fantastic game in every aspect. I recently got the PS2 version which is pretty nice but I prefer the N64 one.

hmm this looks promising: wii.ign.com/articles/760/760682p1.htmlcheck the 2nd video, it shows the gameplay in action it was just announced yesterday along with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. it's an original platformer from the creators of Elebits (konami) that controls like Monkey Ball but even better because it does what Banana Blitz should have done and lets you hold the controller NES style. some of the best graphics ive seen so far on Wii too.
