Just get a PSP because Falcom supports it. This is the Ys English forums, right? I take it members here bother posting because they like Ys or Falcom games. Don't you want to play Ys Ark of Napishtim, Legend of Heroes, Gurumin, etc on the go? Well, you'll need a PSP to do it.

The only game I've bought just for the sake of playing it on the go was Zelda: ALttP for GBA, and that had extra stuff that the original didn't and a 2nd game with it too. I don't find that it's worth buying a PSP just for the sake of playing some games on the go that I can otherwise play on another platform. I'm content with AoN on my PS2, thank you. If I already had a PSP for better reasons, though, I'd be more likely to want to pick it up... support Falcom and all that. Then again, I can also support Falcom by buying completely new products instead. I suppose if I were a bigger fan... I mean, depending on how big a fan you are of something, it can justify buying almost anything in relation to it. but I'm not really that devoted of a fan of anything anymore, really. Well, there's Lufia, I guess... but I really don't think I'd go far enough for even Lufia.

Yeah that's definitely cool. Ys VI and Gurumin was about the only games I played on the PSP... And Burnout Legends of course. That was a lot of fun.

I played Ys Ark of Napishtim on PSP and it not that bad as long as you play it off of the memory stick via hacked firmware. The loading times are gone plus the PSP version has some content thats not on the PC or Console versions.

Read: It's okay, if you fix the system in ways the designers would not.
That sort of thing bothers me. =[

Funny, I just borrowed Napishtim from a friend last night, still grasping desperately for a reason to keep my PSP. It's horrible. It looks like crap and the loading times are out of control (it stops to load WHEN YOU LEVEL UP). The game should not look this bad, the PSP is capable of this game's relatively simple graphics. Combined with the sheer crippling load times it is just evidence that Konami put no effort at all into this port. On the other hand, Konami's PS2 port is great (as long as you don't compare it to the PC version running at 1600x1200, hehe). What happened with the PSP port?!

99% of PSP games I'm interested in, seem to be games I've already played on an other console.

Just get the Wii-P. Nintendo's next offering in the portable console gaming market.
OH damn. Did I miss April fools day. Oh well. Better late than never. I want my wee-pee damit!

brave story? never heard of it Yet another anime turn based RPG.. I dabbled with the import, it was boring, but I have been falling through a downward spiral of distaste against story and turn based RPGs, so maybe my opinion isn't the right one for this. I will say this though: the game had some freaking amazing graphics, probably the best I've seen on the system!

Oooh. A thread from about a month ago! I must revive it! Anyway, I got a PSP not so long ago and I love it to bits. It's girly and pink! Check it out! Looking to do some, uh, customizing on it soon too. I mainly got it for DJMax Portable though! All my gaming hours have been focus on that these days. In fact, I ditched Ouendan 2 for it. XD Castlevania's coming out for it soon too. WHEEEE. The only issue I have with PSP games are load times. ._.

to answer your question of the power cable: if you ever travel to Europe you just need to change the small cable for a European one. The adapter (black box) allows for bot 110v/230v input without damaging your PSP. I myself got a Japanese White PSP a few years back. although it's easier to buy a USB charging cable. plug it into a USB port and it charges

nunuu: That's not a flaw in the PSP itself, but in the programming skills of those who work on it, as evidenced by the increasingly large number of games that have practically ZILCH in the way of load times. But that's why I noted PSP *games*. :3!! I wonder if DJMax Portable 2 has less load time? It better! >:0 Oh, how are the Gurumin prices where you live? I think it's about $40 Canadian in stores around here. ._.~ I might pick it up in the States if I see it for around $20 used or something. (I haven't really seen the game used locally. :/) Whee. Pointless post! :D

If you import a psp, can you still play games local to your region? Say US games on a Japanese psp?

yes, PSP is region FREE for games, so not for the UMD-video discs. but who buys that stuff anyways, 15 bucks for a movie that you can watch on a small screen in crappy 2.0 stereo, and for the same 15 bucks you buy it on DVD with 5.1 DTS

Am I the only one with a flawless screen? Fortunately the PSP's sound output is of very high quality (much moreso than an Ipod). By hooking it up to your stereo, you can listen to mp3 music through that or whatever. You can even play games like that, which is interesting. I have a screen protector because screen protectors rule.

Oh shit! All PSP firmwares (including the previously secure 3.10 - 3.50 firmwares) are now exploited! Thanks to one of the systems best games, too: Lumines!
