I can't form much of an opinion on the Star Ocean series since I've only played SO3 from start till finish and disliked it ... so much that I sold the game and guide immediately after I finished it. I usually don't do this with a game unless there is much rage. :P
I also tried a bit of Star Ocean 1 on the PSP and didn't care for the battle system much. However, I ditched it really early (like just about the village you start off in) so I have no idea how the rest of the game is.
Also! Played a bit of Valkyrie Profile PS and PSP and just could not get into the system. I was paranoid with not being able to level up enough before I send people off to whereever.
Even with all this ughness, I still don't have enough exposure to their works. :| End of Eternity looks sort of neato though! :3

:O Xbox version? D: (There's a top-down view? I suppose I should actually check the manual one of these days ...) No. I don't think there even is an XBAAAWKS version. No idea if there is a top-down view. But the fact that the rest of controls act and feel like NWN (I'm guessing same engine), there's little excuse to NOT have it. Well, happens a lot on that engine as far as I know. I've had cases of getting stuck for good, so save often ^___^

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Hard mode lv1 playthrough
Most fun I've had with a castlevania in a long while. Almost every room is a new surprise and challenge.

Watching my brother go through Xenogears.
Playing a bit of Taiko No Tatsujin on DS and Trauma Centre as well, although I think I'll stick mostly to Taiko.
As for other forms of entertainment go, I'm reading 20th Century Boys, and watching Keitai Sousakan 7.
20th Century Boys is great so far (I'm going to be starting volume 8 soon), and I think it'll keep up. I'm always a little apprehensive of starting another volume because it keeps breaking my heart... such an emotional story! Not to mention that it's a pain to put on the flashcard... I'll definitely read it again when I buy the manga, since the art looks better on paper, of course, and I'd love to support Naoki Urasawa.
Keitai Sousakan 7 is a TV drama directed by Takashi Miike, so of course I really like it. It's got a little bit of trip from time to time but it is mostly straightforward and really heartbreaking (good!) at times. It's also had a couple mindscrew episodes.
Lastly, I'm watching Game Center CX and Game Center [CX] in between. The latter is the first seasons name, although the subtitle group only does the challenge sections and the rest is cut in the first season. Onwards though, it is the complete episodes. I do hope this comes out on DVD over here!

You know, it seems like Wyrd, Muta, and myself, all have very similar tastes and ideas for game development! Once I map out my future and get to point "b", we should consider working on our projects together!
...I mean, why not?! We could all pool in for this project! I think it's an outstanding idea!

Yeah, so would I. Although, I'd probably be reserved to basic coding and music... which I wouldn't mind, really. As long as I'm not let anywhere near writing, it should be okay.

I could do artwork, and design. Yeah, I just invited meself!
And since I'm learning codeworthiness I could easily put work towards the codes.

To be honest, I don't really have many skills applicable to game development... though I can design some mean gameplay systems. And sometimes, write some mean music.
Lawd, I wonder how we'd do this. I can't imagine throwing all our current ideas in a mixing pot, and mine are so off-the-wall that I don't think anyone else would want to be involved. D:

We all have one hell of a team. Just remember that design isn't limited to code; I can handle the code easily enough. I really like Yakra's work as well, and would like to see her do backgrounds, etc.; a game entirely drawn in Yakra's style would be heavenly for sure. I'm hoping that Del Stimpson makes a comeback, as I really like her pixel art (as would anyone who is familiar with NIS) and would like to see us finish what we have started. Also, it doesn't have to necessarily be a mixing pot; we can work on our seperate projects together (with executive priviledges over our own respective properties; more on what executive priviledges will be discussed further on), and perhaps somewhere down the line, if our ideas mesh, we can eventually combine them into an entirely new project. First and foremost though, I'll need my CDL so that I may invest in this project; I really couldn't afford to pay anyone as either a cashier or a babysitter, so I'm hoping that trucking will easily allow me to provide incentive or a "totally unrelated, gift from me to you; so long as you understand that you can provide for our group at any time without any strings or red tape, that this is of your own free will, and that said gift payment is merely a coincidence and is entirely unrelated to your works" -- at least until I can afford a good lawyer, etc.; anyone who can deal in business-related contractual agreements. I'm entirely fine with going all-indie though; and as it stands, with any employee not of a certain age, there is much legal tape to consider. Wyrd, your writing skills are above and beyond my own. I'd love to see what you could do with my characters. Your game may be one of the bigger challenges, as I've never coded a fully working engine for a game of your style; please be sure to have thorough documentation of everything required (including skill sets, etc.) ready for when the time comes. Muta, I don't have a music guy yet -- and while I've thought about it, I thought some more. I don't see how I'm going to get Virt, or Tim Follin, or any other big names anytime in the near future. I'll have to listen to your work sometime. As for a game of your style, I predict that our projects may have the most similarities. Further details will be limited to PMs as it is strictly confidential. Smithee, we must witness your potential. Please provide us with some examples of your artwork sometime, as well as a brief description of the engine/style of your ideal game project. Wyrd, Muta, I have selected you (as well as myself) as members of the board; evaluations, hiring, and firing, will all be done as a team. This is to ensure the quality of our projects, as well as our staff, our team, and all collective properties therein; in other words, if a decision is not good for all of us, it's good for none of us. Do you hereby publically accept or reject the responsibilities appointed to you as senior staff? We'll need a personal mailing list, too. That is how we shall make unanimous decisions. // Also, please be aware that none of this is legally binding without a hand-written signature; although I'm not even sure that it's a requirement. That's just one more thing to consider.

Not to worry, I highly doubt that it'll take up much of your time at all. You could get by mostly saying 'Aye' and 'Nay' (about relatively few decisions) until your project comes to the table. That's when you become a team captain of sorts. // As far as writing goes, not a problem. Most of the script for my project will already be written. The main thing is making sure that everyone sounds human, and that regarding the plot and setting, they sound genuine and realistic. This may be done on your own schedule, I don't project any deadlines.

Hey, once I get a new pencil I'll post up some drawings no problem. That's right, an artist without a pencil! Why, it is like a poet with no tongue!

I'd love to be on the board, unless someone else would do better in my place. I've also thought about helping to provide funding once I finally get a job. It probably won't be a whole lot, but it'll be something, right? To be honest, I don't care if I get paid. But I do care if everyone else does.
I just hope I can help somehow. D:

*shakes* I've appointed you for the same reason that I appointed Wyrd and Myself. We all have the same cause. We don't just play games, we're visionaries. We don't just want to see something happen, we want to MAKE something happen! Also the three of us, with our opinions, tastes, etc. -- I have every confidence that our unanimous decisions will ultimately decide our success. That, and of course advertising. As for funding, I still have lots to consider; what is and isn't in my current budget, etc., it all boils down to whether or not we'll be waiting on my CDL. Current costs: - New HDD. $70-$500, depending on whether we're going for a cost-effective drive or a reliable one. - Software. $369. I already have experience with this software, but it would tarnish our name to use pirated software with various legal restrictions. I have every intention of supporting the company that has empowered me so. As for the CDL, I have no idea how much tuition is. Plus I need a car, engagement ring, and wedding ring. I'm pretty confident that said rings will pretty much come with the truck driving job. Not to mention a house, I need one of those (desperately)! Budget: Laughable. Less than $1,500 total by the time my current job's over. This is why I'm going to make every effort to save my money now. I simply cannot afford to shop impulsively. I also can't afford to restore my old laptop's data. From what I can tell, that costs roughly $1,000-$2,500! Luckily, I have old data somewhere, though I could easily (VERY easily) start from scratch. // As far as funding goes, we'll have to really think about it. I know I can be stubborn, thinking I can build a small company with my own hands; but "there's no I in team". God knows though, if Del Stimpson comes back anytime soon, we will have to finish what we started. I also hope to be able to pay a little more professionally.

Well, I appreciate that you considered me because of my interests, but I still feel useless. Then again, not often do team members multitask as much as I wish I could.
I'll have to pay for a lot myself, but I wouldn't mind helping pay for the harddrive and software. Although... I at least need a new computer and some software, but it'd be fantastic if I could also get a new guitar and a keyboard. And actually freaking play them.
But under no circumstances will I accept payment! I'd much rather be happy knowing that everyone else is happy than happy because I got paid and someone else got jipped out of their hard-earned cash.

It's amazing how this idea is flowing. We'll need music samples between you and Mutagene. Ultimately, I want to avoid midi; midis can be converted with modplug tracker (although not flawlessly; it would require tweaking, as it would convert similarly to how Ys Eternal/Complete's midi soundtrack had converted to the Nintendo DS version. Modplug tracker isn't great with pitch-bends.) into an MP3/OGG/WAV, and all instruments can be changed with such a program to more desirable, better-sounding instruments. Don't get me wrong though, it doesn't have to be real instruments either; if Falcom can do synth, I don't see why we couldn't do that as well. The reason for this is that ultimately, I'd like our sound to remain faithful to the intended composition, no matter whose machine is playing it. I believe as well that due to my prior reservations with Adventym, SkyeWelse has as much right being on our team and our board. He has a keen way of working with abstract elements as both an artist and a visionary, and I'd like to see some of that put to good use!

and I finally started Ys IV, I bought it a while back and hadn't had the chance to try that one. I'm not to far into it but I'm loving it so far, its becoming one of my favorite titles in the series.
