Maybe he'll meet Popful Mail? Or maybe she is his sister? They sure look alike.

You'd think he'd at least get tired of ignoring all the women who fawn all over him. I'd actually love to see an Ys with a fellow adventurer who happens to be like a female version of Adol -- all spirited and never-say-die, but not annoying like Terra. She falls for Adol and simply DOESN'T LET HIM run from her... if he wakes up at 4am and tries to sail off, she'll actually FOLLOW him, not willing to give him up! That would be really cool, and is the only way I can think of for Adol to finally settle down with someone. Well, unless it turns out he really DOES have the hots for Dogi... which would be awesome, but I doubt Falcom would do that, as I think most Ys fans would be quite disappointed. If they ever do the dating-sim-style Ys game that's been suggested here before, though, I hope they at least let the player choose to go after Dogi if he/she wants to. Fans deserve the option, at least, I think. -Tom hah, jeez... you know with so much talk about something so ignored and trivial in the Ys series I'm both surprised and relieved that this fanbase, like basically every other gaming fanbase, hasn't been knee deep in fanfictions. I'm rather happy we seem to have a fanbase full of artists instead... quite a bit of fanart to go around for a small group like this. ...I didn't give any ideas, did I? Well, they don't bother be much with all those other games so I don't see why I'd care now, I just don't read them.

Closest we've got so far is Carna, though as long as we're talking crossovers Anelace from EDVI does have similar taste in equipment... And hey, I like Terra. Either that or all the girls get together (don't ask me how they'll arrange this), lock Adol in a room and refuse to let him out until he agrees to pick one and stay with her. Of course, Dogi will probably bust down the wall and break him out before he has to make a commitment.

I'm worried about the CPU speed. :/ Why? Do you have a 486? :) No~ I have a 3.2 GHz Pentium 4. :/ And wyrdwad, Adol loves ADVENTURE. I don't think he cares about any hot lovin's from women OR men. XD

Just an idea but why not have co op play with Adol and Dogi? So I take it Ys Origins was actually Ys Zero? Still awesome to see Ys games still being made after 20 years. And the creators havnt gone on a tangent too much with its sequels. I say make the next game for consoles also. Ys on the 360 with HD and downloadable content. Oh yes.

That's a DOWNGRADE from the PC games. 1280x720 (360 resolution) isn't exactly pretty... And downloadable content is just an excuse so that they can release unfinished games and then charge extra for the finished game when it comes out (well, okay so they did that with Ys Origin already). HD and downloadable content sounds like a nightmare to me.

They charged me. A whopping $10 for the thing (including shipping, but I don't care as that's a part of the game price in this case). That's outrageous! They should've included it to begin with.
And again, HD in this context isn't HD at all - it's a real downgrade. If they released it for PS3 it could at least come in 1920x1080, which is comparable to modern PC gaming.

Hell, I would settle for a PS2 port. I just dont like to do my gaming on my PC. Consoles all the way. Screw installation and setup. Plug n play baby.

PS2 port of Ys I&II is still available in Japan. though it has some flaws, like it requires a lot of space on the mem. card. but a PS3 port of any Ys game would be appreciated. but developing for a PS3 costs way to much money for Falcom. so maybe a Wii game through the WiiWare channel? Gurumin 2 for Wii anyone?

Interesting question, are Falcom's console ports done in-house? I know Ys VI wasn't, but for some reason I feel strongly that Gurumin was, and now I'm very curious as to whether Ys VI is the norm or the exception. I don't think it'd be prohibitively expensive for Falcom to develop a downloadable game for any one of the major consoles. Look at games like Everyday Shooter for PS3, the work of a single developer. Games like that don't need the kind of budget that Gears of War needs. If the distribution system was in place at the time that Ys VI came out in the US, I think it would have been a great game to distribute online. Sure, it was cool to buy it in stores, but I picked up the PSP version at release and the PS2 version months later... and each time, the guys at the counter had no knowledge of what it was, and there was only that copy. I doubt the store presence (or lack thereof) did much to increase awareness of the series, nor was it readily available anyway. Perhaps WiiWare, PS Network, or XBLA is where the next (hopefully!) Falcom console game belongs. However, if they opted for a retail release of anything, I hope it'd be for PS3 so it'd be region-free. Grr at Wii and 360.

Falcom's PSP ports of Gurumin and ED6 FC/SC are Falcom's first console games in a very, very long time. The only other console games they had developed prior to that were Ys V, Popful Mail (SFC) and The Legend of Xanadu 1-2 (PCE).
All the other Falcom console ports/remakes/original releases were made by other companies that bought licenses for the game (or even just name, like Faxanadu) in question.
However, Falcom WERE involved in Ys IV, Super Brandish and Popful Mail for Mega-CD as well as ED1-2 and Lord Monarch for Mega Drive.

Wait, when you say Ys 4, Super Brandish, & Popful Mail for Mega-CD, are you saying all 3 of those were for Mega CD? I know there was a planned Ys 4 for Mega CD, didn't hear anything about Super Brandish.

I think he just meant to differentiate the CD version of Popful Mail from the SFC version.
But... was there really a planned Mega CD Ys IV?! Did it get anywhere beyond planning?

I meant Ys IV and Super Brandish for Mega-CD, yes. And yes, Ys IV MCD did get some development.
