Since I can't find any info on this on Nintendo's website, & no one has replied to my posts in their forums, figure I'd ask here. I have tried 2 different SD cards, & I keep getting the same thing "The device insterted in the SD Card Slot can't be used." Anyone have the same problem? Both my cards are San Disk. I'm thinking of getting one that specifically says "for Wii" on it, if that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas!

If it says anything other than SD, it can't be used; even if it has extra or less words. Anal seepage!!!!

???
Maybe it's the storage size of the card?
I ONLY have SanDisk SD cards. I think I used a 256 MB one (regular one not HiSpeed) in it before and it worked fine. Backed up some of my VC downloads onto it. :D

Or... maybe its not formatted properly? If its an old one? Not formatted with those SD Formatters or something?
I'm probably VERY wrong though, so ignore me. :'D I don't even have a Wii! I just ran into... a somewhat similar situation with my DS Flashcart.

Buying a "for Wii" SD card won't do shit, other than getting you ripped off.

Just email the Nintendo support, and they will get back to you quite quickly. I have never had that problem, but if you tell them its "ruining" you Wii experience they will work quite hard to remedy the situation.

Both of them are San Disk SD's, one is a micro that came with my wife's phone(including a converter). I contacted Nintendo, & they told me to read up on the troubleshooting, & if that doesn't work, go to the forums, which I also did, & there was a guy there with the same problem, who, as far as I can tell, never got the problem solved, so I replied in his thread, stating that I'm having the same problem.

I was given a suggestion on the Nintendo forums, to try to load up photo's in the Photo channel. Didn't work, so, it's making me think, that this might(hopefully) be just a problem with my cards, rather then with the Wii itself. But, if that's the case, what the hell do I have to do to find a card, that actually works on my Wii?

Of course there's nothing wrong with the cards. Do they work in your PC?
It's the damn Wii, damn it. Damn!

Yeah I would try the cards in another Wii too, just to see. If they dont work in that one then I would say its not compatible, but I have never heard of this happening. I am surprised Nintendo is being so passive about it.

I really hope it's not the Wii. I mean, we'd lose some data obviously, that we'd have to redo, like all our Mii's, & my wife has been playing Super Paper Mario, but, also, I just plain don't want to have to go thru the trouble of sending my friggin game system thru the mail. Do you get reimbursed for the shipping..I hope?

They send you a box to put everything in, and its all prepaid by Nintendo. I had to use Purolator in Canada, but I am not to sure what they use in the States. When you send the console, it gets charged to Nintendo's account. No money, no fuss.
My experience with Nintendo was really comforting.
BTW if you want to save your Mii's at least, you can save 10 on a Wiimote, or send them to someone to hang on to until you get you new Wii. If you need me to do that just PM me and Ill send you my #

Yeah, I was thinking about sending my Mii's to a friend, but forgot about the controller thing! Well, that does sound reassurring. I still hope I can find a card that works though, I wanna get Mega Man 9, & not worry about not being able to back it up....although, I think if I lose a game, it's still linked to my account(not sure, haven't bought a game yet), or I could just buy it for PS3, but, I prefer to play good ol' MM on a Nintendo system for some reason

Why? Did you never play Mega Man for Game Gear?

Yeah, I remember liking it. Which reminds me, I'd love it if they released the MD's MM 1-3 on the VC! That would rock!

You know what would rock even more? Popping the cartridge into a real Mega Drive - and playing it.

I want them to put Wily Wars on VC so bad because the actual cart is very hard to find, and very expensive as well.

I see it every day, it is grass here. Literally. We don't have grass as you know it - we have The Wily Wars cartridges.
