Wow I'm stupid, I completely forgot about Dogi! You forgot about Dogi!? TT~~ And just a tip about the skills in case you run into the same problem too: Certain weapons provide characters with new skills (you can check what skill a weapon has before you buy it by pressing the square button while it's highlighted in the shop or fusion menu). However, the character doesn't learn the skill until it reaches level 1. This means that if you swap weapons while the skill is still on level 0, you won't be able to use it. ^^ Think I'm gonna get me that patched version so I can record RANDOM gameplay. I doubt I'll play it very much on my 1000 though because if the 2000 kills my thumbs, the 1000 will DESTROY my hands. :P Guh, seems like there's no actual way of procuring the game already in its *ahem* modified state yet? Now I gotta see if I can find all the programs needed to do the dirty work. :P Actually, my main interest in playing the thing on CFW is to see how much faster the game loads, especially during first load up and between the Now Loading ... screens. I mean, they're not long by any means but I'm just curious. ^.^~ .... Well, that was certainly easy! Thanks, Google! XD

I think the loading times are actually longer between areas more than anything else, oddly enough.
Even then, they're still bearable. I've dealt with MUCH worse.
Also, yeah, I was going to ask how you forgot about Dogi myself, lunar. That's a big thing to forget! *lul*

Ahaha. Watching my own gameplay and I just realized that I roll WAY TOO MUCH and a lot of times, I roll a bit further away than I should. (I tend to miss stun-whaling times.)
Gonna start practicing to stay near enemies now. :3
Man, I can't seem to save when using RemoteJoyLite. >:/ The game tends to freeze. *sigh*
It was fun playing the game on my computer monitor -- all bit and pixelly -- while it lasted. :3
Semi-spoilery characters video~

Even if you use RemoteJoyLite 0.20a? Because that fixes most, if not all save-freezing.

Even if you use RemoteJoyLite 0.20a? :o Because that fixes most, if not all save-freezing. :) I read that that is not a good version to use! D: (Using 0.19.) Guess it won't hurt to try though~!

I read the same thing, (stupid moderator at psp-hacks!!!) but the fact of the matter is, I've been playing Crisis Core with it and it's AWESOME. The only downside are FMVs being slow and menus in Crisis Core being slow -- possibly due to all of that sprite animation. Miku (the whole game) is also slow. It really depends on what you're playing.
Gurumin plays PERFECTLY -- and it used to crash all the time on 0.19 and below! (Can't get past the title screen without 0.20a!)
If you REALLY want to play using RJL 0.19, just F3 before you save.

I'm still kinda partial to Galbalan from OiF, but the boss that Floofy lauded as the best evar in the series was pretty neat.

Quests in this game need to be done away with. Most of them just net you some gold anyway.
If it weren't for being able to teleport all over the place, I'd flog the old granny in Shannoa Village a good one. Fuck your punkass deity statue.
And then there's the pikkard quest. Yeah, Napishtim's Pikkard sidequest was a pain but at least you didn't have to find seven of them. (Hahaha. Ys SEVEN. Good one, Falcom.)
You STILL have to bring them back one at a time. The hell? And teleporting for these little critters doesn't speed things up that much because they're mostly out of the way of those healing obelisks. Edit: Found 3 of them so far and they were fairly close to the obelisks so it's not TOO bad.
Oh yeah, fought my first dragon. ('Twas the Earth Dragon.) It had WAY TOO MANY HITPOINTS. Didn't help that I kept getting stomped on for the last part of the fight too. Charging and rolling == not a good thing to do when you're trying to evade. ^^; I think I need a fattet right thumb.
I think I'm just all jaded and annoyed today because I have a cold but I really don't think all those switches and shit are necessary in this game given the fact that the dungeons are goddamn straight-forward. It's not like some other games where switch A will open door A which was a mile away and you had to flick a million other switches in between to even get to it.
In SEVEN, you touch something in the dungeon and immediately, the root or flower or whatever nearby grows/blooms. Like ... why all the hassle? It DOESN'T ADD TO THE GAMEPLAY AT ALL!!! All it does it momentarily inconvenience the player to hit the Triangle button, select the freakin' required item, and then use it at the "?" point.
Okei, now I shall take some medication and go back to bed.

Thanks but, [spoilers follow:] I only really tried it once, and I went in having only bought and crafted armor for/skilled up Adol, Crshe, and Mishera, since they're my 3 fave (not that you have a choice with Adol). So when the first phase was like... Hey! Use Dogi and Elk! Haha... it didn't go so well with thier level 0-1 skills and crappy armor. Even bearing that in mind, I can see this taking a few tries, but I'm not ready to look for help yet! I'll give it a looksee if I have trouble after remedying that problem, though.

Got home from work yesterday and found that the game had arrived. I've only gotten a couple of hours worth out of it so far but it certainly looks promising. The unrelentingly fast pace of the action is still there and the new gameplay mechanics give the game a very different feel from Ark, Oath and Origin. Which, although I love those games to death, is nice. My only concern for the moment is that the skills don't seem to add any tactical depth like the "magic attacks" did. But really, it's to early to tell. Where I left of Elk had just joined Adol and Dogi. Boy is he fast! ^^ A HUGE thank you to everyone who's contributed translations, summaries and explanations here on the site. I wouldn't be enjoying the game as much without your help.

Today's dragony gaming babble~! (Hidden text!)
Dear lord, the fire dragon battle was so full of fail for me because:
1) I FORGOT to equip that ice item at the start of the fight. ^^;;;;;;; Nearly got everyone killed right from the get-go cuz of the lava around. XD
2) I didn't clue in to shove the party into the holes when the dragon does that killer blast until the bugger had less than half its hitpoints left.
I used up so many potions for this fight! ;_______; And the sad thing is that it wasn't even difficult. AT ALL. I was just stupid at evading attacks (like usual).

I'm on that boss right now... yeah, it's possibly the single best boss I've ever fought in a game. Three tries though and I'm still struggling. I got it down to 1800hp the first time, but the second and third tries were wonky.
I think I need to equip that anti-stone accessory.

The thing is, that's 5 seconds you could spent NOT getting mauled, which is pretty important on Hard and Nightmare.

Stupid fucking Wind Dragon.
I actually used less potions than I did with the other fight but still.
STAND AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!
Or something.
Anyway, it has been beeted without any deaths from me own party! w00t!
Also, tip to players in the Sacred Ground/Place of Wind (風の霊場): don't be afraid to drop everywhere! :3!!!

I'm in a tree somewhere. I'm enjoying it somewhat, even moreso now that I have the kid... Elk? Was that his name? XD I'm also loving the fast forward function. It's the next best thing to a "shut up! mode" The areas are sooo big... I can't believe my eyes... and there are so many enemies! I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy it once I actually started playing, but after rescuing Elk, I'm finding this to be a very enjoyable experience.

At the final boss now. Well, more precisely -- the room in before the final boss.
And lord, I REALLY hated 海の霊場. I didn't fall TOO often but just the thought I couldn't roll everywhere as I pleased annoyed me greatly. XD!
Ya know, this and the final dungeon were probably the only two places where I switched between the party members (i.e. manual control) often to fight enemies. :B!
Right now, I'm hanging back and grinding so I can finish my 2 remaining quests (need 2 more pikkards and gotta show some crap to the youth in Itsuka Village even though I could swear I have all the stuff needed) replenish the materials I need to make them final weapons and armor.
Heh. I think my party levelled up around 4 times in the last dungeon cuz I fight EVERYTHING.
Oh yeah! My fixed party is now Adol, Geis, and Aisha. <3 <3 I used to have Adol, Dogi, and Aisha for the longest time (with swapouts whenever characters became mandatory to use at whatever plot point). Elk was actually used quite a bit in the 海の霊場 though. :D
Man, I don't want the game to end. >:(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe I'll play till I reach level 99 then! :DDDDDDDDDD Afterall, everyone's got skills to max out still. >:3
Edit: Man, it sucks to have a crappy memory. I had to revisit like 4 places to figure out which pikkards I never returned yet. :P Anyway~ I'm done all my quests. I only missed out on 12. :(!
Now back to the final dungeon to grind~! It's so silly right now though. I have none of my active party members equipped with weapons and yet they still have weapons somehow when they fight and in the Equip render. :P
LOL. It's taking FOREVER to take down ONE Aldofa (the 3-headed dogs in the final dungeon). I think I've spammed skills at least 30 times already. ^^;;;;
Wow. I only need to spam Scud/Squad/Scadsword (スカッドソード) 124 times before it levels to level 8. I think I can get it down to almost half of that just from whaling on this one enemy alone. :D
HA! Two and half fights later, it levels up! Now it'll be 379 times before it gets to level 9.
Gods, I wish I thought of this earlier. I love this.

Aisha, hm? I can't wait. I just beat the huge bug... that was intense! When I think about it, this is really Secret of Mana done *exceptionally well*, the right way, the only way, the Falcom way!
