Kondo also shared a few bits about the game's story. Main character Adol is still in his teens in Celceta Sea of Trees. This ends up being his second major adventure, and an episode that serves to form his identity as an adventurer. So the timeline's still the same: Ys IV happens right after Ys II, and before Ys III.

I'm glad to see that! After all, in Ys VI, Ernst stated Adol's adventures in the same order when he explained how he heard of Adol. Ys, Celceta, Felghana, etc.

I replayed Ys 6 recently and thought the same thing.

I doubt they would do any really massive changes if it would create conflicts within the overall story, unless they plan on doing a retcon.

I'm guessing the PSP game is a port. How many games can Falcom be working on at once?
The note about the improved sound on Vita is interesting. Hopefully they'll re-record the sound effects too - Seven shares at least some SFX with Felghana.

I thought falcom had a 'new' series they were working on? Or is that a vita exclusive?

For the new PSP game, I am suspecting that it's either port for Ys Origin or the entirely new game. Come to think of it, Ys Origin is the only Ys game for pc that hasn't received the PSP port yet.

Hmmm, the question is.... will it be more like Mask or Dawn... or wildcard: Both!

From what I can gather, it's neither. It sounds like it has new plot elements and the characters were changed up a bit.

One key element of the story will be Adol's memory loss. This will also feature in the gameplay, as Adol will recall things as you advance in the maps. Easter Egg: Adol recalls how to bump.

Easter Egg: Adol recalls how to bump. Easter Egg: Adol also learns out to grind. Adol inline skating or skateboarding game ensues (using Vita touch controls!) And is then followed up with combining the two in an Adol dance game (using Vita touch controls!)

I heard they say Ys IV is a sequel of Ys Seven. Is this true?

I heard they say Ys IV is a sequel of Ys Seven. Is this true? No. 4 < 7. It has much of the gameplay of 7, though.

Given that Ys IV was made almost twenty years ago... no. It takes place after Ys II and before III/Oath.

I've noticed a pattern. PC-age Ys releases: A new Ys title (Napishtim) A remake of an old title (Felghana) A side story title that doesn't involve Adol (Origin) PSP-age Ys releases: A new Ys title (SEVEN) A remake of an old title (Celceta) ?? (A side story title that doesn't involve Adol, maybe? They could do a sitcom about home life for the Facts and call it Just the Facts. That'd be pretty Fukt up)

I'm not sure that one set of games constitutes a 'pattern', especially when you need to leave out Alternative Saga (and Oath PSP and Chronicles) in order to make it fit.
However, I do approve of the idea of a Fact family sitcom. Between the interplay between the two brothers, Hugo juggling girl next door Mucha (who the family approves of) and wild party girl Epona (who they don't), Toal's identity crisis, Kain's relationship with his sons... It's comedy gold!

I was thinking...And,maybe,they show only that 3 characters because they don´t want people see the others? I still have hopes. ;_; Astromancer: yeah,it will be cool if Adol talks.*¬*
