Hi guys Let me say one important thing... the game was tested with the resolution of 1024x768 and lines were splitted and balanced with that resolution. Because of the game strange way of scale text at different resolutions you may experience strings goin' out of bounds if you're playing at a lower resolution, and at widscreen resolution ( 16/9 or 16/10). it's not a patch related bug...but a game bug. I personally experienced random crashes while testing over Win 7 32 and 64 bit edition...even the original game crashed. They are totally random... not patch related. On Windows XP the game runs really fine. It's clear... Ys was created over Win XP, it's a 32 bit application... it's normal that it can crash over latest OS. Well.. I'm really disappointed...after three years of hard work, blood, troubles and so on..we released origin translation for free and there are users able to criticize or to expatiate on some idiot things. You don't like the patch, please, don't use it, we won't die of sorrow for your decision. You don't like it...why don' you try to make your own patch instead of watin' one’s breath for idiot things. Bye Thought I had to reinstall because of the problems you said, but I guess not =D. and really wow at fact family ( though it crashed when the movie started at the final boss). Btw anybody got a list of changes of ex versions of the chars? Yunica got so much more range with her "magic" Right that reminds me of the costumes with the ex patch. How do you unlock them? Now it crashed right when they warped at the ending from toal

Just sneaking by to send my heartfelt thanks for seeing this project through, doppi and company. I can only begin to imagine the undertaking this was, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this was out. You've translated what remains my favorite Ys game, and the one I've most dearly wanted to see in English above any other. Now excuse me while I go grab that patch and get the game installed on this machine.

Thank you Team Figli di Gaucci & everyone else involved. I already said my thanks, but the above words say it better than I could have ever done. Thank you very much, all of you. And just forget the haters. Seriously. Forget them. There are so many people that appreciate it that you can just ignore the bad apples. We love what you have done for us I just finished Yunica's quest. It was excellent! I think I'll wait a few days before I start Hugo's quest.

I have the original version of the game 1.0.0.0 and am on Windows 7. Is there any way for me to get the Data Disc data so I can patch the game? I would rather avoid having to re-purchase the game. I downloaded the language patch, but without the Data Disc, I won't be able to patch the game.

Here is the extras disc www.sendspace.com/file/zcmww5If this is against the rules then the mods can delete the link but I found this a few topics down on this very forum.

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the hard work of the Figli di Gaucci team. I'm really enjoying the game in English so far, something I never thought was going to happen. It's a lot more fun when you understand what's going on You guys are awesome, I hope you can take a long well earned rest and play some games yourselves, I'm sure working on this project has created quite the backlog! Furthermore my thanks for the easy to use patch, it works like a charm. As for people have errors with playing the game I suggest the following: 1. Read included file in patch zip named READ_ME.pdf 2. Change PC to Japanese Locale (XP instructions) imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/unled1tll.jpg/3. Install your game 4. Check game version by left clicking YSO_WIN and pressing properties in drop-down menu (if version 1.100 , 1.1.0.3 or 1.1.1.0 skip step 5) 5. Install extra disc (for version 1.000) www.sendspace.com/file/zcmww56. Install English patch 7. Configure your game (1024 X 768) 8. Play This was pretty much what I did, except I already had a copy of the game which doesn't require the extra disc. Remember to check your version before applying the English patch as version 1.000 will not work with the English patch, as stated in the READ_ME.pdf Thanks again guys, off to play...

Now it crashed right when they warped at the ending from toal I think I am having the same issues as you are having, for the most part the game runs no problem, like 99% of the time. (I have the Win7 version.) Mine crashes at those fade to white moments at the end battles at the top of the tower, and for the most part it seems random... This is NOT a eng patch problem! It has happend to me ever since I have first played the game, so it's some sort of bug with the original program. Just something I deal with, and why I won't play on anything higher than Normal... XD Just having the story in English is enuff for me.

Yeah, I don't know what everybody's crashing problems are. I played it at 1920x1080 (my monitor has a 4:3 squishing feature), and it only crashed once for me. I also only noticed one, maybe two instances of text going off of the screen.

I started playing at 1024 by 768 using my TV's HD zoom feature and there are still a lot of text overflow problems. It did fix some of them but there are still a lot more. They are mostly in the Lila shell conversations and the return trips to the first floor. This is mostly from playing the beginning of Yunica's scenario. Maybe Hugo's is different.

I'm only a little ways into Hugo's route (just beat Velagunder), but it seems that the text overflows happen in pretty much the same places as in Yunica's route. There are some differences due to some different dialogue, but not much.

On the final boss with Hugo and boy typical Ys greatness. I'm happy to see Hugo redeemed himself, I was really starting to not like him very much.
Would anyone happen to know where the 2nd to last boots for Hugo are? It appears I missed them somewhere.

I seem to be having a problem, the translation only seems to have partially worked, the config got translated and bits of text are in english but the videos haven't been translated nor the menu and a lot of the text is in gibberish with a lot of "c" "0" and characters like that. Anyone any idea what went wrong?
Edit: Fixed the problem by moving about files

Bloody Prison, there's a rotating cross platform somewhere that you can actually see another platform below the hole in the center. Jump down and follow the path to the right.

Just dropped in to say I installed YsO and the patch, after this 5-year-long wait. This patch is REALLY good in pretty much all aspects. Thanks once again, to everyone involved in the project! By the way, concerning Ys ORIGIN, when I get bigger SP pieces, the number "1" still shows (and I DO get just 1 SP), even though the piece IS quite clearly bigger than the smallest one. Did anyone else run into this bug? (I'm pretty sure someone stated it before me somewhere...) That aside, everything else is pretty much perfect: when played on the recommended resolution, I have had no texture problems whatsoever, and I'm not even using applocale (although I AM playing on a PC with japanese settings). Pretty sweet patch.

Pretty sweet patch. The 1 SP issue seems to be due to playing in Nightmare difficulty (though I can't remember if this happened in the original game), I tried Hard and it's giving correct values for the fragments as far as I know; they could be worth even more in Normal and below.

Thanks a lot for the patch ! It's excellent to finally understand the story Try to play one time in arena mode before loading your save. It's working perfectly when I'm doing this.

Hmmm, I did wonder if that was the reason. ' I am indeed playing on Nightmare. Glad to see I wasn't the only one! Thanks for the help! Try to play one time in arena mode before loading your save. It's working perfectly when I'm doing this. Ooooh... So there's a solution...? Too bad I don't have Arena Mode unlocked yet. XD Guess I'll really have a nightmare-ish playthrough. Thanks for letting me know! I'll make sure to make use of that in my latter playthroughs.
