From: www.the-magicbox.com/I wonder if this means they will be porting the newer ones to 3DS/PC/Mobile or just that the upcomming ones will? I feel bad for Falcom! Everybody who likes RPGs should be buying and playing their games :/

Well, hopefully they'll get more recognition on Steam. I think there's a pretty big untapped market that would love to play Japanese-style games, on the PC.

That makes sense, the PSP was doing amazing in Japan, but it's inevitable that it'll start to decline, given how long ago it's been around.
While I'd love the Kiseki games on the 3DS, I worry that the fanbase doesn't really suit and there's the issue of region-locking for would-be-importers.
Returning to the PCs also seems to be a gamble, due to piracy, but it could be the safest option if there are enough PC Falcom fans.

Yeah, steam seems like the best bet for PC honestly. I know I'd buy them there even if I don't get a physical box. I can live with that.
Even if the games standard res is still basically 1024x768.
I'd also buy the 3DS versions if they were released in the US.

If they decide to return to PC, I'll definitely support them. Even more so should the XSeed & Steam deal continue. Best of luck to all parties involved.

Hm, when they say their flagship franchise's sales declined, did they mean Ys? I'm not sure, because these days I HAVE been wondering if now they consider it to be all the Kiseki games due to crazy sales on PSP onwards or something.
Anyway, interesting. And I find it more probable most, if not all, of these things will involve third parties doing the work rather than Falcom. But who knows.

Hm, when they say their flagship franchise's sales declined, did they mean Ys? Nope. Not Ys. EDIT- But I don't mind this after playing Trails in the Sky. As right now I can say I love both series equally. ... Actually, I don't know about that either? Playing Oath of Felgana for PSP right now don't seem to me to be near as good as Trails in the Sky? Maybe I'm not fan of the Oath Engine/Jumping in Ys feature?... Hopefully Origins and/or Ark changes this?... Now I'm much happier that Ys Seven has no jumping and the upcoming Ys game uses the Ys Seven gameplay Engine. Oh, and I'm very, very happy that the Trails series is coming to 3DS too!!!!

I was bummed at first about this news, but, then I realised that it brings more oportunities to play Falcom games in english!
I'm just more of a Sony lover then a Nintendo lover. Guess this means I'll have to buy a 3DS. I still hope somehow, we get SC & TC on PSP, even if in limited numbers. It just feels wrong to swithc to a different format, unless it's an upgrade to a format, like Vita is to PSP. I'm a bit anal about that kind of stuff. Plus, I think the save file carries over IIRC?

I hate Sony with a passion. Yet I love the PSP. It also didn't stop me from buying the PS1 as soon as I seen a must buy game for it. ... In fact, I always end up buying most if not all popular systems of a generation cause I can't just limit myself to just a few set of games. I also never had any plans on buying the Vita until Ys IV. So yeah, I'm at the mercy of the games for the most part. (Though the main reason I hated the Vita was due to it replacing the PSP. I hate when videogame technology moves too fast, cause games get worse with it's increase too) But yeah, more Falcom games coming out in English is the main reason I'm happy for this 3DS announcement. In particular if it's for the original Trails Trilogy having a much better chance for English release. Physical copies at that too!!

For me I'm slightly sad mainly because that means I have to buy more consoles. I have money problems so I don't usually have enough to buy consoles but always enough every couple months to buy games (small amounts over long time instead of lots of money in a short period such as with consoles) so I do end up preordering many RPGs including Falcom games and games by Gust (Ar tonelico, Atelier series, and etc.). I only got the PSP back in 2010 and finally the PS3 for my birthday this year (lots and lots of games to play through!). Now I need to save up to get the 3DS and PSP Vita as it seems that's where my favorite RPG game companies are heading... *sigh BUT this is for RPG so in a way I'm still happy! Just my wallet is not happy.
In the mean time, I bought the Falcom games on steam and now saving up to get Ayesha when it comes out here as well as Tales of Xillia.
