I do know one exists/existed, which Seldane used to use a lot. It did prove to be helpful I think, although from what I gather this topic is an even better help by this point. I don't have the link to it, though. I'll ask him tomorrow if he still knows where it is.

Indeed there was a link to a Korean FAQ early in this thread but it seems to be dead now... Anyway, pages 6-9 of this thread provide lots of walkthrough info and visual clues to find most secrets.

I tried to retrieve the FAQ by using the Wayback Machine... web.archive.org/web/20060827033543/http://ahnch1.maru.net/Ys/document/ys2sp.txtEDIT: The link needs to be copied then pasted. But I get a lot of garbage text. I can still see the ASCII maps, but the rest of the text isn't in Korean for me, sadly. Does it show properly for anyone else here? Oh, hey! I tried googling the authors' names and "Ys" (their names were in roman characters, so they weren't gibberish for me when using Wayback Machine), and I think I found mirrors! electra.tistory.com/attachment/kk79.txtOn my PC this doesn't show right, but I believe it will be "correct" if it's opened in a Korean PC. Must have Korean Unicode characters.

This shows fine under MS Word, provided you have the Korean font. A very cool find indeed! Though if someone here were able to translate this (outside of the simpler stuff like the indications on maps), I rather they translated the game script instead

Elf medal
(weird... I had a faint recollection that both medals were the same item, written NYMPH'S MEDAL when you first get it but transcribed as "Elf Medal" in Korean... guess I am getting old)

This is Anea's Ring, actually (Anea being the gal you get it from).

At least we know that infamous sidequest no one has been able to uncover yet actually exists.

! That is so exciting!!!!!!! They should make a movie of Ys II Special. Epicness! Also, I presume the site mentions something on how to get the equipment? What I noticed that's odd is how Adol gets each equipment in exactly the same place/moment, and how there's no apparent NPC nearby. Just 2 monsters. Maybe one gets them by killing some very specific monster? Also, about the location, I wonder if one can tell it judging from the 2 monsters in the screenshots. I stopped my last Ys II Special playthrough in the Ice Ridge of Noltia, so I am only familiar with the Tree monster on the right. I have checked ALL the walls of ANY kind in the game up to the point you can get to Ice Ridge of Noltia (but not Ice Ridge of Noltia itself), and I can GUARANTEE that that place in the screenshots aren't there by crossing some fake wall or touching a tree or anything up to that point. Unless if some event triggers a fake wall into becoming... fake. Or... so. Also, Adol at lv24 only? Hm... that's odd...

The comments give no clue about how to find that Dangun's Tower. Perhaps in the dialogue with the town chief? The tower has got to be somewhere in the main field I think...

Can side quests be accessed at anytime or is it something you have to do at a certain time or ells you mist it?

I cannot tell for sure in the case of the Dangun quest, but "anytime" is a safe bet since there are actual story quests that can be completed in the wrong order or even skipped altogether (the Black Pearl bit in Burnedbless comes to mind...).

The dialogue you posted is related, GS. It's the dialogue that triggers the passage to cross the river in the main field after beating the 2nd boss. MP and I discovered (after a lot of googling in korean and testing theories) how to get it. Guess not all mapping is done yet! Look forward to it! MP came up with the idea of making a video to surprise everyone, so that's why we didn't post about it yet. The video will explain how to get it! It's quite... interesting and insane. XD Love this game!

Me and Red Hairdo have figured out how to get the Dangun equipment. I'll post a YouTube video of this soon. // It's the biggest secret in Ys II Special for sure. I can't believe I missed this MP and Red Hairdo succeeded in what I failed to do many years back... I'll have to check this out for sure once it's on YouTube.

how long will it take to get the video up? Is Dangun quest a big place to map?
