Magic Knight Rayearth is awesome.
I actually haven't played Yoshi's Island enough to say if I like the music or not. In fact, I don't remember a single tune from it. It's one of those games that I have wanted to play for many many years, but never did. I have tried the DS game however, and it is really boring.

Legacy of the Wizard and Faxanadu are both wonderful games, and treasured childhood memories. Although I could never really achieve anything in Legacy =[
I love SMB2, but never sampled Doki Doki Panic; everything I read tells me the gameplay is slightly less good.
Speaking of such, I've always wanted to play Flying Warriors. Have you ever played Flying Dragon, Maggot? I am led to believe the fighting style is the same.
...Wait, was it you I directed to Flying Dragon then Flying Warriors like a year ago?

Hmmm... that is likely, and I do recall getting the right answer twice (from two different sources, which most likely includes you) at nearly the same time. Flying Warriors and Flying Dragon do indeed share simialar fighting systems. I would beg to differ in that Flying Warriors is a dramatic improvement over Flying Dragon. I don't think you'd be let down one bit if you were to give the game a chance. As far as SMB2USA and DDP are concerned, just give it a whirl. I seem to favor DDP over SMB2USA, and I'm sure others are likely to agree. The gameplay really doesn't differ much between the two; and neither does the soundtrack. (Title Screen / "Water Level" tunage aside.) I'd just have to say that the difference is in the story, graphics (some are less animate in DDP) and of course, the save feature. (Which never should've been removed!) Another classic which deserves an honorable mention: Conquest of the Crystal Palace. Packaged with a catchy soundtrack, lovable characters, (Come on, who DOESN'T like the dog or the chick that stalks you to sell you items and tell you valuable information?) tricky but enjoyable gameplay and... errr... hell with the sales pitch. Just check it out. It's neat!

You know. I remember reading about that in Nintendo Power, way back in the day. Tell me some things about it? Because I recall seeing it a lot, but know precisely dick about it.

I know this game sucked but I kinda liked it and spent some agonizing hours finishing it. Does anyone know the game deadly towers for the Nes.

Yep, and I'm glad to hear someone else kinda liked it. Deadly Towers may not be the best game out there, but it was not without its merits. I enjoyed it quite a bit as well, though I never did finish it. -Tom Thank You, yeah I've seen worse games out there than Deadly towers. I've also seen some guy beat that game in 15 minutes without getting hit. INSANE Forgot which website. I've heard some websites that it is the hardest game ever made But I don't think so. R-type 3 for the GBA was hardest cause theirs bullet glitches that hit you out of nowhere and you die easily. (the music sucked also, nothing like the Snes.)

Deadly Towers was fun back in the day. I got it randomly for my birthday, and it wasn't too shabby. An acquired taste, I admit, but not altogether bad. But you did have to figure out what was up with hidden rooms and stuff, which was kinda a pain if you didn't have the manual.

I just buy a bunch of potions and a teleport scroll that takes me to the little towers and look for the best equipment. I didn't have the manual.

Nor did I, at first, until I found my cousin had one and I got my aunt to photocopy it for me.
In my defense, I was also like...5th or 6th grade at the time, so I wasn't much of a smarty man either.

I finished that game without any help . Looking back now I can't believe I've actually went threw all that . Another game I that I thought was cool was Legacy of the wizard but the mazes were just unbeatable . Another game that sucked but not really was Ultime:Exodus. I think that game was a lot harder than Deadly towers cause no matter what level I was on anything could kill me. The game got really hard until I figure out you could hit the select button and another menu selection appeared. Afterwards was a breeze. Should had all my guys mage types cause everyone could equip the best sword and armor and magic was the Ace of the game. Music sucked but some Japanese girl remade some of the music in the early 90's which sounds a lot better . Heres a song when making characters . 208.53.158.138/soundtracks/ultima-mix/gwykjkksat/11-hitomi-no-knife.mp3

In more modern terms I think Baiten Kaitos/Baiten Kaitos Origins were two of the best RPGs from last gen, and combined had the most cohesive cross-game story I've ever experienced(it's pretty rare for sequels/prequels to not just be total after-thoughts in terms of plot).
That said virtually no ones played them cause of lolcards, and they got bad reviews for the same reason.

I usually hate card based rpgs, but Baten Kaitos is really good. The card system is simple, and the music is great. Did you get the free music cd with the first game?

I've tried to get into the snes ultimas but they weren't fun and it looked like some american group made the game more like might and magic. I like avatar due to easier, simpler game play but after beating FF3 for nes I couldn't get into it. Actually Ultima exodus for nes is a remake of ultima 3 for some really old computer games that resembles atari. Doesn't seem to age very well though .

From what I hear, the SNES version of The Black Gate is really bad, and I never played it. But, I did play The False Prophet for SNES, and it was pretty fun. I've not played the original, though, but I had a friend tell me it that the SNES version was a really good port, aside from taking out the option to sleep with one of the gypsies. (Which didn't count as a hit to virtue.)

Huh. Wonder how close that is to the PC version? The PC version was pretty excellent, but from everything I read, the SNES port was garbage. One friend has threatened me with physical violence if I touch it =[
And yeah, Marl Kindgom needs more love.

*perks up*
Ultima? :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I've never tried any of them on the console systems but I loved them muchly on the Commodore 64 and the PC! XD
I wonder how they played on the NES and SNES though? Did you have keywords to select when chatting with NPCs~? Cuz on the C64 and computer systems, they were sort of like ye olde text adventures where you had to type in the direction of movement (before Ultima IV, I think) and stuff to ask (Ultima IV to VI).
VII (The Black Gate) was when they started adopting the "pick a word" system when conversing with NPCs. D:
I remember trying to play VII 2 or 3 years ago and couldn't get into it again because THERE WAS TOO MUCH DIALOGUE. :( I swear, each conversation had a billion dialogue choices. My goldfish-like attention span kicked in and I couldn't continue. :(((((

Ultima: Runes of Virtue II for SNES is pretty cool! It's an action rpg and not a "real" Ultima game. I like it. It fits here, I bet. Because I doubt anyone but me likes that game... pretty much.
