I dreamt that I kept puking and puking and puking... it was mostly liquid, so it wasn't too gross. And then a monster with long ears and rabbit's feet came out. It looked like it was ready to attack me as I was tiptoeing, hypersensitive to motion. So I screamed. It ran around the room frantically. Pol's voice hates loud noise. Then I got a phone call "Hellooooo?", it sounded like Aerith. I tried answering "h..." but my voice wasn't working, and the monster was staring and relaxing on the furniture, anticipating its next move. I then woke up and said "Hello?" in real life. I could tell because my voice wasn't lucid.

Yo, I had this dream where everyone was kissing, and then black liquid would pour out of their mouths.

Man that was the most vivid dream I had in a while!
Dream: Soooooo I decided to visit my relatives in Cleveland. Even though I don't have any. Weird already. And I've never even visited America so I don't know what place I was imagining (probably off some TV show)! So I got on the bus to go to the shopping center and some guy's dog kept on sniffing (not humping!) my leg. This was the most REAL part of it. I can actually vividly remember it.
So I tell the owner to control his dog but he just laughs at me and shakes his head. Turns out he's a mild white supremacist and couldn't care less 'bout my inconvenience. And he looked like Sergei off The Wire.
And then ... *forgets*
All this while listening to Senko no Ronde DUO OST (in the dream!)! I woke up (and Man I was glad to) halfway through A-Z Lefty.

What about a spicy white supremacist?
Sorry, couldn't help making that dumb joke. That sounds like a weirdo dream though, yeah.
Where do you come from, man? I'm basically straight up Canuck, laughably so (actually I have some American word tendencies, like soda, restrooms, and sneakers)

Where do I come from? oooh, I bet if you were asked that question, you wouldn't be able to resist another 'dumb joke' now would you? xD
England, but Indian heritage (Yndian Origin). So I guess the dog liked the smell of me. *dumb joke*

I had a strange dream today where I logged onto the forums here, only to find that an 8-page spam thread was somehow going on inside my PM inbox. I don't remember much of what was going on in there, but I do remember that it had nothing at all to do with me. I think MP83 must've been abusing his new administrator powers, as he was posting there, along with Red Hairdo, Nunuu, Yakra, and some others I can't recall.

What an odd dream I had last night. I shall try to summarize it to the best of my ability:
So, the malls around my house were upgrading a lot, like very much. And, I was going to one of them to this huge water slide were you rode in a rubber ducky boat and were supposed to meet a game designer but that didn’t happen. I think I met some people from school and some stuff happened but I can’t remember and then later I was at a different mall and was in front of two stores — one for books and one for TV. Now, the books were cool and my friend got a stat upgrade that gave him extra thief points which he gave to me, and I talked with him for a long time about whether these work or not (I was really nervous). In the end, I think I stole a book, and then the mall was closed, but we still went into the TV store somehow. It then linked with pornography. I guess it was banned in this super-mall world, so we talked about how you could get it through TV. Eventually I downloaded porn and left. I was at the mall again later when it upgraded yet again, and this time the whole top floors were closed, but I went up there anyway because on one of them they didn’t place their no-crossing lines well and one of the steps were only half as tall (it doesn’t make sense but this was the rationale). So I was walking around when I went to this part which you weren’t supposed to “play” on but could go on, but it had a sign to be active so it was a very confusing area. I saw this lady with her sister and they seemed nice — the older one looked like a picture I saw of Tali from Mass Effect without her mask. The younger looked like the President’s daughter in Cory in the House. I went to the bathroom at some point and hid under a sink when I heard people coming. The older one was vivisected and making out with the younger one in this weird pose (She was standing like a sumo, with her legs wide and planted to the ground, but bending her back to reach her sister’s face for making out). Then she lifted her back and stood erect, while her sister went under her skirt I think. Anyway, it was really fucked up, especially since the older sister was vivisected and had all of her organs to be seen, and she started to play with them. This was, needless to say, pretty disgusting. I don’t know how I left, but I was glad when I was gone. Later on, my brother’s friends offered to take me to the mall, but at this point all malls were closed and they were shady places. we drove there and then had to walk along the bus way where we only got to the bus docking station in front of the mall, but it was full of illegal activity and vagrants and stuff. We left after a bit but it was a spooky place. We went back again, but this time it was more serious — I remember seeing a guy pull out a gun and he was planning on shooting everyone but when he looked at me he put it back for a second and let me go. On my way out, I passed a midget who was petrified into one pose who told me to leave when I could, and as I was almost going into the mall itself (rather than the bus station) I heard police coming. I decided I’d turn myself in and explain that my brother took me here against my will. The dream ended here.
There was another part, I think around the beginning with the rubber duckies and stuff, where two people from school were trying to kill me, but I got a sniper rifle and a license or something and just shot them in the legs before they could do anything. That was a weird part, but I can't really remember.
This reminds me of a Miike film.

Ohhhh this thread was made for me. The problem is, I have so many, what do I start with? I don't want to flood the thread with a many page long post full of them >.> I do have a pretty recent one that what I remember is pretty short. It was one of those dreams with many perspective shifts, from 1st person to 3rd and back. Starting with what I remember, I was in a third person perspective, a removed observer. I remember watching/listening in on some predicament with this girl. Apparently she was terminally ill, however there was a known pretty much cure all procedure that would save her life. Afterwards she had these rather large feathery, angel like wings. People commented on how bad she must have been. I guess the size/type/intricacy of the wing implants signified how bad you were prior. Later on, in a first person perspective, as some guy in this world, I guess I was in the same situation. Hard to describe, but I ended up with essentially arms for wings and wings for arms. my arms were relocated at a sharp angle behind me from my back (how you'd expect wings to be), some very physically impossible stuff. I remember noting how it greatly improved my ability fly, though I could fly well enough beforehand. Flying in some way a common thing with all my dreams, so that thought isn't surprising at all. Not much else happened after that before I woke up, not that I could recall at least.

Flight dreams are indicative of optimism. You're lucky, becuase I typically need to lucid dream in order to fly. (and it's surprising more of my dreams don't see me shackled up in contrast to flight). I do really like the perspective shifting ones though. One of my most memorable (and bizarre) dreams was back in high school; I was actually killed in the dream and then switched POV to my murderer for the rest of it (says some interesting things about ego development ).

You're crazy. And you want to go to the mall. Thing with dream interpretation is that everything has different implications for different people. I personally don't think things can be so easily and Jungianly summed up by vague archetypes. Take water, for example. It's said to usually symbolize the unconscious. On a more cognitive level though, it can have different implications to the dreamer depending on whether they are a regular swimmer who loves water, or somebody who has nearly drowned and hates it. (ie. fear of water in a dream could be conditioned, and is not necessarily a fear of the unconscious). As for the mall itself, I can think of a dozen different ways the setting itself can be interpreted. Lots of people HATE malls, and think they're claustrophobic school-like cattle chutes stuffed with unpleasant people. Others (myself included) think them a treasure trove full potential belongings, food, food, FOOOOOOD, and eye candy. (gotta love that eye-candy) As for singular elements, you can find dream dictionaries online which will be able to interpret generic archetypes better than me. If you want to use the Freudian method, you could try going through what each and every element brings to mind. Namely, what does a bisected lesbian make you think of by association? (feel free to do this publicly; I take great delight in watching people's minds dissected. . . errr. . . ummm. . .you know what I mean)

Thing with dream interpretation is that everything has different implications for different people. Truer words on the subject may not have been spoken. Knowing myself and my dreams at least, I doubt any common means of interpretation or understanding have any meaning for what the dreams mean for me. I am definitely on the optimistic side, always have been. I'd describe myself as an 'optimistic realist'; cope with the bad with optimism, but keep things as real as I know how. If this is the actual meaning of flight in my dreams, I cannot say, but I would not doubt the possibility. I have dreams I remember having with varying degrees of length and detail from as far back as elementary school. I had no idea what a lucid dream actually meant for years. It turns out, the majority of my dreams have been, and continue to be lucid. Of course the degree of lucidity varies from dream to dream and other factors (like quality of rest), but there are definite consistent things off and on dealing with lucidity, dream control and the like. The best dreams are the more "out there" ones, the ones you play around with physics and any kind of logic and do things, interact with impossible places and things. I've never put much though into dream interpretations, I've always treated them as a nice fun adventure you get at times, and nothing more. You're crazy. And you want to go to the mall. Malls? Reminds me of a common thing in malls/big building in my dreams, Escalators always go down and are on every floor aplenty. Also, they all drop off into the center of the mall, with only the ground floor below. I am never using the escalators in such dreams, but I do notice them as I fly up and down stories in the mall instead. Also, I'm not sure I'm anywhere near running out of ways to fly. It varies from dream to dream, how, and how well I fly. From arm flapping, to levitation, to superman, arms ahead type flying, to swimming in the air like water, to having to jump enough times consecutively to get enough height to start gliding, to actual or imagined wings, to 'cycling' up and through the air like I was on some invisible unicycle, to even flying beyond lights speeds that makes you blind in the process. I've flown in all sorts of strange manners, and it never gets old. Generally speaking, gravity is never a concern nor problem in dreams. If I don't take flight, I always know I'll land safely on my feet at the bottom, no matter how deep. When you are at least fairly aware when you are dreaming, what's there to fear? I do really like the perspective shifting ones though. One of my most memorable (and bizarre) dreams was back in high school; I was actually killed in the dream and then switched POV to my murderer for the rest of it (says some interesting things about ego development ). I have also died in my dreams, off and on. Sometimes a perspective shift like you mentioned takes place and the dream continues, though sometimes the shift can be to the abstract (removed third part entity), other times it can be a brief half wake then into a new/different dream altogether. On a side note, the movie Inception brought something to my attention. I have never felt pain in dreams, only expected amounts of pressure that would accompany something. I'm coming to mind out, I seem to be in the minority on that. I've been stabbed, maimed, and even literally hacked to pieces in some dreams too. In one dream, some evil demon thing made my head explode, which was something else. Another thing Inception brought to my attention: the concept of reality checks. For me, gravity, impossible landscapes/buildings/physical features has always been enough to know when I'm dreaming. Also, more often I am never myself, and I come across people, beings, and places I have never met, seen, or been to. I take great delight in watching people's minds dissected. . . errr. . . ummm. . .you know what I mean) o.o! You too!? Awesome! Though I try not to invade others personal space, when they are willing, it's an interesting subject. For the record, yes I do know what you mean.

Oh we had a topic about this? I put a lot of weight in the emotions that a dream leaves after I wake up than the actual content. Two weekends ago I had a series that left an impression in my mind that lasted throughout the rest of the day.
What I remember started with a family gathering at my Grandparents' old house (which for some reason is often portrayed as haunted when I dream about it, despite having nothing but good childhood memories from visiting there once a week until I graduated from high school). People were gathered around the dinner table when everything started shaking. A piece of glass from the stained glass-styled lamp covering over the table fell to the ground and shattered (and I had forgotten my grandparents used to have that until the dream). I commented on was that an earthquake? I had never gotten to experience one before, but then my stepfather (who is actually estranged from my mother now but still present in the dream) said "no, a mountain is gone". Then there was a comment about men dropping from the sky that I don't remember the exact wording of. I ran to the front of the house and looked out the front door to see that right across the street, the sky is on fire, all the houses lay in ruins, explosions are going off, and soldiers are shooting at each other and dying. The shock of the scene actually woke me up on the spot.
Everything else occurred in a series of dreams afterwards, but it's what left the major impression on me. It was implied that the entire US was razed and I don't even think I was the main character in the dreams anymore. There was one man with a short trimmed beard making a very naturalistic living after the fall of civilization and technology. The sun was shining and the grass was green but there was still a feeling of dread among the small pocket of survivors. The man met a woman who was implied to be a strong warrior. A few times the man would encounter animals and make an effort to defend himself. although seemingly competent he would always have to flee or be rescued by the woman. Over the series of the dreams the woman and man became married, had a child, and the woman was pregnant with a second child. It was at this point the man looked at the world and felt serenely content (and this feeling stuck with me as well). All the feelings of unease about trying to make a living after the fall and feeling older suddenly disappeared. People lived on with nature, the land was beautiful, he had a wife and children. He commented on wanting to have 2 or 3 children and after they grew up and could take care of themselves the man and his wife would travel around the US visiting various other pockets of survivors and just seeing the world. The couple were still young and would still (feel) young after their children could live on their own.
After that there were some more narrative dreams in the same world, but they had no emotional impact on me and even changed the setting in a way that I don't like when I reflect on it.

I had a dream/nightmare. I know what it means already.
I met someone new. She was in the car driven by my mom. We went to my ex-fiancee's in the slums (which, she lives in the boonies, so it makes no sense.) and I wanted to see her. Then we were driving off, they said I needed to move on. I told them to stop, I got out, brought all of my things, walked back to the house, and waited for hours. Eventually, "Texas Tom" -- played by one of my friends from Texas -- showed up. I asked if Alyssa was home. He told me to come in. I just sat out there for hours with my things. Eventually, I go in to see her, and the dream ends.
It doesn't help that I can't get her out of my head, I think about her nonstop. I still love her, and I still justify everything she ever did because "I've done it too". Yet I'm still fighting to move on, because it's not right. I'm still wishing things were different, which I swear is odd because I broke up with her, so I shouldn't feel this way.

I always pay attention to important dreams I have. I think it's a part of being Aboriginal since in our culture, dreams tell us a lot about ourselves and give us important messages. It is nice being able to understand your own dreams Unsavory Maggot. I can relate to what you experienced but not to the extent of being married for years only to have everything come to an end, which I witnessed countless times. I'm also told we have dreams where spirits visit us and try give us important information, but it's more of a puzzle. I am certain of one reoccurring dream I have that it is something trying to get my attention and tell me something, but I'm just clueless. It usually deals with increased water levels. I had one dream where the water kept getting higher in the lake near my house and the waves kept getting bigger. It got to the point where the waves were hitting my window and I could see the frame pulsating from the pressure. I was told water is very powerful and can teach you many things, also where the wind comes from. This makes me think of Poseidon wonder if he's still master of the sea.

Salamander: According to Jung, water represents the unconscious. In that sense, your dream would indicate either repressed memories or suppressed emotions/tendencies trying to burst past your inhibitions to realization. To me it sounds almost like a claustrophobic dream. Like outside pressures trapping and threatening to smother (drown) you. Maggot: Jung would probably say the collective unconscious is trying to reconcile you with strained relations. Freud would say that everyone in the dream represents your mother, and you need to start masturbating before bed. And Lacan would say some pretentious French crap in an attempt at sounding like an actual psychologist. Personally, I think your interpretations are good enough. And I like that your subcounscious put her in the slums. Your brain can be pretty creative when trying to tell you things.
