You seem to be jumping to a lot of conclusions with this series. ;) That's cuz I play the way I WANT TO PLAY. And make my life harder than it should be! ... Is this stuff even mentioned in the manual? If it is, then I can blame the fact that I'm illiterate (and also blame the fact that I don't experiment)! RAR! BTW, how does one get past elemental pillars in various dungeons? Is it something that's obtained some time after defeating the boss at the fire tower? :o (I believe a boss battle is next for me at that place.)

Hit the columns with the opposing element using Arwen's magic. Fireball for blue columns, Earth Impact for green columns, Tornado on yellow, Ice...whatever on red. If you haven't started any of those yet...don't be surprised if you'll breeze through some of the zones beacuse you're probably way overlevelled for them by now

Talk to Penguin at the Secundum mines after you beat the first boss and she'll tell you about the pillars.
Too late for that, I guess.

Eh, isn't destroying the towers the same in Zwei? Just use the opposing element on the tower to destroy it.

Hit the columns with the opposing element using Arwen's magic. Fireball for blue columns, Earth Impact for green columns, Tornado on yellow, Ice...whatever on red. Well, that's the thing -- I DID chuck ice magic at fire pillars but nothing happened? o_O? That's why I wanted to reconfirm with ye d00des and check that maybe it's some gear that Ragna gets instead. *headbutts wyrdwad* But maybe this IS Zwie 2 cuz during the part in the fire tower where you're supposed to hit all the targets to lower a gate, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I double-checked all of them and the little folded white fan-pattern was above all of them. I reloaded cuz of that. >:( The game's buggy, dammit. I think nunuu's playing something else altogether. Maybe a cheap knock-off game called "Zwie 2." It's the only explanation. ;) At least I am making this thread amusing! And educational for other people that haven't played the game! It's like an FAQ! Aren't you glad I never went through with my Zwei!! PC walkthrough? Imagine how many lives I would destroy by telling people that "HEY, YOU CAN'T ENTER DUNGEONS UNLESS YOU'RE AT THE LEVEL ON THE PLATE."? I think that sort of walkthrough would have been actual justification for that weirdo to send that hate mail cuz he'd rage of how wordy it was AND how WRONG it was. Ah, the power of misinfomation. :3 Talk to Penguin at the Secundum mines after you beat the first boss and she'll tell you about the pillars. Too late for that, I guess. But ... it doesn't work when the player is illiterate. :(! Oh well, you guys can be my helpful penguins! :D *dresses everyone up in penguin costumes*

Double post! The nunuu way of playing Zwie Zwei 2! >:3 (This is NOT a guide for players. Heaven forbid that you play like me. :P) - Talk to every NPC at least twice before and after boss battles (for memo collecting purposes)!
- Equip Solmon Ring and run around the town and village to speak to all the animals before and after boss battles (for fun).
- Say yes to all the food trading questions with the assumption that you must trade them in in succession!
- Wander around the museum after handing over some treasure!
- Leave the Scoreboard, enemy info, mini map, and that treasure-is-in/is-not-in that direction gadgets on and plow through dungeons! I tend to ignore the time but try and find all the breakable pots and stuff. Oh yeah, I got the TV the other night. What the hell is the point of it? It was fun for a whole one second.
- Always have pet tag along no matter how useless it is! I like the cat (now a mini lion! ^o^) the most. The bird is the most silly looking at max level with the broken egg shell on its head and all.
- Rapid-fire magic that has the elemental property opposite to the pillar the characters are facing! Get frustrated and move on when it doesn't disappear!
- Switch between Arwen and Ragna to freeze enemies and then whale on them with whatever Gear that's equipped when they're frozen! Rinse and repeat.
- Deliberately push the inactive character or the pet off moving platforms. The pet is funny cuz all it does is get stuck at the bottom of the screen and SPIN.
You have to go into the menu and de-select and re-select it for it to reappear with the party.
- Shout at the screen when an enemy knocks the active character off a moving platform! This only happened once. Most of the time, I just overshoot a jump or not jump far enough. It made for an Interesting time with the springs when I was trying to reach a lower area.
- Rapid-feed the characters in boss battles like there's no tomorrow! (The damn plant boss did a number on me. :/ Didn't help I was two levels below the recommended. Of course, I just suck anyway.)

I also noticed a spot where there's targets (like 6 of them) that pop up fans when you hit them...that are off-screen (they show on the minimap though). It's over the long pit where you have to use the moving platform from hitting the bell or something. Maybe that's the one? I just shot at them blindly until I heard the right noises

Use the burning gear (red) and hold the attack button while Ragna attacks. You will generate more hits that way. Attack its head when you get the chance by using the same method. I easily destroyed the plant at level 7. It is definitely possible to beat that plant boss even at level 1.

I totally appreciate the tips but not only am I done with that fight, I'm just SOL when it comes to action games. :3! I rely heavily on level ups and boosting HP to survive fights and even then, I'm healing characters like mad. :/
Ahahaha. I decided to go back and check the first dungeon. Spotted Wind Pillars on the left path, used Earth Magic, and they went down! But you know, the plate there says Level 04 ... I'm level 11 now. ^^;
Fwahaha. Got my first special skill several hours late. :P Aw man. I thought I was recording the goofy encounter but turns out I wasn't. Oh well! Next one!

I need help, but...POTENTIAL SPOILERS (I'm trying my best to find the right color to match the background but I can't, so it's just in black below) After the fight you're forced to lose, what needs to be done? I've already tried to see the broken plane again, and found Odessa in the forest, and Garland at Second Dome, but I'm still lost on how to progress in the game END SPOILERS

Getting the second special skill from Gallandou. XD I don't believe the exercise routine ever changes. I'm glad I got the option to skip it in the third encounter. Dur, all you have to do is hit a button to get the option to skip. :P
But ....wait. The guy said that it was a new type of exercise routine? Now I'm curious~! But I have to replay the entire dungeon again. D:
^O^! It IS a bit different afterall! *reloads to record*
Also, I believe the background colour of this board is 2F3238. There's text under this! Highlight to see! :D
SORE DEWA LET'S EXERCISE!

Finished Zwei 2 today. It felt like a hybrid of Sora no Kiseki (storyline and overall "feel"), Ys (battle system), and Zwei!! (obviously). It has its own merits but I feel it doesn't live up to its predecessor. There are some features that I miss from the first one, such as pet program and the diary. And the story got little too cheesy at times (Zwei!! wasn't terribly original either but somehow it didn't feel as cheesy). However, it was nice to see the world of Zwei!! getting expanded and there are lots of improvements such as food management (thank god I don't have to go back and forth from my house to the restaurant multiple times just to exchange some foods) and battle system, which I already said resembles Ys: OiF a lot. The enemies have more attack patterns but almost infinite healing makes any storyline fight easy anyway. Hopefully the sequel will bring the best out of two. Falcom has room for at least four more sequels so it will be interesting to see how this series will evolve in comparison to other series such as Ys.

Well, it seems that Zwie 2 doesn't let me skip foods to trade in. I just sat there going through the cycle of selecting not to trade, start up the trade again, and the damn guy keeps asking me if I wanted to trade the first item in the item slot. >:( Hey, in the Golden Dark Forest in that dungeon where you get the third skill, there's a chest sitting on top of a moveable mushroom. How does one open it? There also doesn't any stand to put the mushroom on. :o

In the same dungeon part you'll find a two-step platform you can jump onto. Move the mushroom next to it, stand on the platform, and you should be able to open the chest.

Hi, first my english is very bad (I speak French). So , I want to know what is the thing in the right (under the counter) ,it give me calculation (hum???) (8x5=? etc). And how do you do to throw bomb with the bird??? thank you (sorry for this very bad english) That's the combo counter. You solve the maths by pressing the right numbers with the number pad and if you're correct, your combo meter increases by one. Answer correctly as fast and as many to increase your combo meter. If you answered wrongly, u have 1-2 seconds to press in the right number before the combo meter disappears and you'll have to start from scratch again. It's like a mini game and I play it sometimes to get additional special combo moves. You need to have 50 combo hits to earn one special move. So all you need to do is to answer the maths 50 times correctly without fail. As for the exploding chick, it's random. You can't control it.

Gracias! :D d0000des, need a tip. :( Highlight~~~~ About those level 14 boss battles~ How the heck does one hit Montblanc? o_O I fought him after Thermidor but couldn't figure out what the key to landing hits was so I went to take on the werewolf instead. That d00de was a push-over compared to the other two. :/

Zuu: Highlight below The fight's kinda weird, it took me a couple tries to figure it out. You'll want to use the Fuku Gear or whatever it's called for most damage. Don't bother trying to combo him or anything, you can only hit him once per cycle. I'm pretty sure damage can only be done when he's surrounding you, spinning in a circle with all of those marionettes. If you hit one of the dolls instead, they'll all try to jump on you, be careful of that. Note that the lower his HP, the faster Montblanc and the dolls will spin around when trying to damage him, it gets kind of annoying
