The kicker is, it WASN'T my whole team... just me and one other guy, despite me being the most skilled person there (not to sound egotistical, but it really is true, and I think anyone else on the team would say the same thing). This raises the question, why me? And the best answer I can come up with is, because I made more money than anyone else on the team. Having gotten higher performance reviews in the past, I got significantly higher raises each year, leading to a pretty big gap between my salary and the second-highest... and I seriously think that's what did me in. See my post back on page 3. I'm sure that's what it was. The guy that is doing my old job now is someone I trained, and he's only been there about 2 years now. But at least in your situation you had some warning that it was coming. I didn't know my company was doing layoffs until I was in the office being laid off. But I found a new job in August, so it's water under the bridge for me. But I do understand how you feel, believe me. BTW are you going to reveal where you were working now, or did I miss it? |
