Hmm, debating if I should go to see them on tour. They are pretty awesome, but there's still stuff I don't like, and the supporting bands aren't that great either IMO. You mean the Power of Metal tour? 3 of my top 5 favorite metal bands are on it... On another note, Paul's releasing all the tracks from his album on YouTube one by one. Good news for anyone who didn't buy it before!

You mean the Power of Metal tour? 3 of my top 5 favorite metal bands are on it... Well, the NA tour, I'm in the states. The one with Nevermore, Soilwork, Powerglove and Blackguard. I can't stand Soilwork, I'm not big on Nevermore (not my cup of tea, really), Powerglove is OK but meh. And I don't even like most of Symphony X's new stuff, even if their older stuff is downright eargasmic. Blackguard is the only one that sounds pretty awesome (though I'm not very familiar with them), but I somehow doubt they'll get to play a long set. So yeah, that's why I'm having trouble deciding - especially wondering if it's worth the money I'll probably need to put out for going from DC to Springfield and back. Well, I have to agree. Then again, Slipknot objectively sux ------------- To stay on topic, here's a favourite song of the week: Check out that sexy violin solo! I keep thinking I should cover it.

Here's one for the Ghibli fans:
The most over-the-top cover I've ever heard, by the most over-the-top band I've ever heard.

So, Anubis Gate's new album came out last month.
It's not quite as good as I expected, but that was foolish of me--it's really hard to top The Detached.
Henrik Favre, the bassist and backing vocalist, took over full vocal duties this time, and I am very pleased with the result. His performance on "Take Me Home" from Andromeda Unchained was heartrending and memorable, and while none of the songs on this album reach that high, in places he comes very close.
Recommended for anyone who likes melodic metal.

I love celt music(specially Irish) since I was a little girl. Dunno if it´s strange to like this kind of music this days, but I love it, specially, when this two are toguether:
Carlos Núñez is a famous Spanish(from Galicia) piper, but he is playing a flute in that video.
He plays the bagpipe here:

Flashbacks to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire! Thank you, Krirka! I'm now even more eager to be back in the land of snow and non-infernal temperatures! And on that topic, I might as well. . . contribute?

I love Celtic music. Thanks for sharing. I have always wanted to get some bagpipes and learn how to play. It is still one of my life goals.
I love all music really so I will share some too.
A band I'm in recently started working on playing this piece and its a lot of fun.
