I pretty much hate every 2000 tune in the Taiko series but!!!! てんぢく2000 is one that I sort of like since it's not as laden with crack as the other ones.
Finally got around to watching/listening to those metal tunes all ye guys posted. They be good stuff! *_________*
You know, I find that one of the funniest things to do is to blast power metal from your car while driving in a school zone at 40 km/h. Somehow, the music and the speed of the car just don't mix very well. XD

I've just been binging on things in this thread already. Scar Symmetry, since Mutagene got me crackwhore hooked on them, Sound Horizon since Lumi got into themmmmmmmm, and Falcom. Nothing new to post! My mind is pretty much 100% absorbed by those things right now. D: I totally do. www.last.fm/user/-TsuEdit; I lied. I've also been mini-binging on Pain. Most notably Cynic Paradise and the first song on the album with Anette Olzon, Follow Me. I <3 Anette and it's quite awesome.

Since we're on the topic of vocals... damn, I love Carlos Zema. He is by far one of the most versatile vocalists in metal, and he has an amazing voice to back up his versatility. He can pull off insanely powerful falsettos and then switch to a really evil growl. I don't think words can explain how amazing he is... so I'll post a few videos. The full songs he did with Outworld were only released on a demo, and as such are damn near impossible to find, but there are two studio report videos of him recording vocals on YouTube. If you don't mind the fact that the band loves goofing around in the studio (a LOT), and you're intrigued by my poor description of Zema's vocals, it could be worth it to sit through both of the videos, because they have some of his best moments ever. He's performed in a few other bands as well, but none of their songs even come CLOSE to his work with Outworld. It probably helps that he had incredible musicians to back him up, too. He also did vocals in a rerecording of a song from their first album, and you can find the music video for it on YT. Also, if you want to listen to the whole demo, it's still up for streaming on Zema's MySpace page. The songs, in order, are Weltschmerz, Blindness, Faceless Enemy, and Purity. Have fun listening, and try not to put yourself in a neck brace. It might get in the way while you're looking for your jaw. [/rant]

Hahah, that does sound like alot of fun. I used to love They Might Be Giants way back when. Apeaking of concerts, I saw Thrice in concert on Tuesday. They were only the opening act but they are such great musicians that I didn't really care This was their opening song. So good

Never heard Carlos Zema before-- now I feel bad that I haven't. He's definitely got a metal voice. Nice rant, 'Gene. XD
Oh man, I remember They Might Be Giants from long ago. XD Didn't they use music of theirs in like, Tiny Toons or something crazy like that?
Now, moving away from metal, Japanese, and silly/fun stuff entirely. I did say I would do that at some point.
I'll class this as 'world' music, because I can't think of where else to place it...
Azam Ali. She's got one of the most heavenly voices I think I've ever heard. She's been vocalist for Vas, Niyaz, and even did the vocal work you hear on the soundtrack to the movie 300.
This one's in English- one of the few that is. Often she makes up the vocal sounds as she goes, or sings in Farsi, I believe.
If you like the sound of her, I'd also recommend anything by Lisa Gerrard / Dead Can Dance. Lisa Gerrard's equally amazing vocals and instrumental work can be heard in a number of movies, including Gladiator.
Here's a little live Dead Can Dance. Might be a tad strange on first listen, but the artistry is undeniable.
Phew. I know, that was a lot. Try them out when you're feeling in the mood to immerse yourself in something not so bouncy or rockin'.

This is definitely way up there on my list of favourite games. I really like this one, and this game as well. Actually, this might be appropriate for songs that constantly run through me head...

Kate Covington - You're Not Alone w/fan vocals (Final Fantasy IX [Various])
A very beautiful tune made even more beautiful by a rather talented fan. This brings me comfort in my darkest hours; clearly you can hear why, the lyrics, the vocals, the composition, the instruments, they all come together for a downright soothing melody.

Agreed.
So, in other news. I'm addicted to Adagio's new album. This shit is AWESOME. Do you know how hard it is to find good aggressive symphonic progressive power metal these days? DAMN HARD. But you know what? Adagio delivers in freakin' spades.
I need to get around to those j-pop artists Ashy recommended me, but it's not easy considering I've been in a metal-only mood lately. ὸ.ό
