I really like it too!
...I'm just kinda wondering what it is -- the visuals, that is.

Oh god, this album is fantastic. Old-school heavy metal with great modern production and beautiful keyboards and vocals. It's easily a contender for album of the year now, I think.
@wyrd: That girl obviously does know soul, because her performance is surprisingly good. I can't say that's something I'd listen to often, but it's really catchy, yet I can tell it has a lot of meaning without knowing the lyrics.

Awesome... breakin' out the Globe!! (: I used to be a huge fan of Globe's music, and I still think "Anytime Smokin' Cigarette" is my favorite jpop song of all time Time to do that top J-pop list! XD I was more of a trf fan but I REALLY loved globe's Love Again album. So many songs on it were sooooooo good. (It's rare that I like more than half the tracks of an album. ^^;) Didn't care for their debut(?) album, globe, as much though. Pretty much only liked Feel like dance and Sweet Pain.

The thing I hate about J-pop is dumb song titles like this: PRESENCE OF WILD-FLOW-ER
or
reality reign [goodnightmix]
Makes me made.
I like J-pop WAY more than J-rock though, handsdown.

It's not like Falcom Sound Team jdk's titles are any better! XD And :((((((((((( to you not liking J-rock. (You don't like X-Japan or The Pillows? Everyone likes The Pillows .... for some reason.) I like both but tend to listen to the latter more~ :B However, I don't know any of the music nowadays since all I listen to is gaming music. ^^~ All the "recent" J-pop I hear is from rhythm games since all they ever throw in are the popular tunes from the past few years. :P

Well, I don't really listen to much Japanese music outside of soundtracks. And no, jdk's titles aren't much better, but it is still good music regardless. Wyrdwad: Regardless of the reasoning (Engrish, etc) I don't really care; I still don't like it. Anything can be justified, doesn't change my mind on it. I don't mind The Pillows that much, no, but I hate X-Japan. Along with all those modern prettyboy crapfests with the castrato vibrato voices, like L'Arc En Ciel and TM Revolution/Abbingdon Boy's School. Shit's crap.

People like you need to get an open mind!! >:O! *says the person that doesn't like AC/DC vocals or anyone metal singer that screams and sounds like he has a frog in his throat or jazz music* :3

I'm also saddened by this, since I quite like X-Japan's music... but, opinions are opinions! I still sing this song almost every time I go to karaoke, though... or try to, anyway. (: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE X-Japan's ballads. Most of the ones I've heard are so amazing and so good -- I even bought the ballads album~~~~. *___* I especially love the fact that their English lyrics are crazy poetic. Methinks they have a someone that knows the language to write them. :O! However, for Forever Love, I really do like the version that they sang at hide's funeral more. I think it's Last Mix or something? <3

Is hide that guy who died of erotic asphyxiation? Bwahahahahahaha. No but ... Hideto Matsumoto died on May 2, 1998. After a night out drinking, he was found hanged with a towel tied to a doorknob in his Tokyo apartment. Three fans died in copycat suicides, and of the 50,000 people who attended his funeral in Tsukiji Hongan-ji, nearly 60 were hospitalized and about 200 received medical treatment in first aid tents. Crazy fans. X___x Hahaha. Your title! XD!!

That sounds a lot like erotic asphyxiation... but that stuffs disputable, I guess, since any hanged person you could say that for.
Thank you, fair maiden. I gotta sleeeeeeeeeeeep.

That Pretty Maids stuff is pretty good, too. Not sure what I think of the vocals, but the instrumentation is AMAZING. Oddly enough, one of my favorite things about the album as a whole is the vocals. The lyrics themselves are generally pretty average, but Ronnie has a really, really great voice, a fantastic sense of melody (seriously, the vocal melodies on most of the tracks are AMAZING), and puts just enough emotion in his performance without going overboard. The vocals, along with the keyboards (thanks to my ol' pal Morten Sandager, ex-Mercenary keyboardist extraordinaire!) and production courtesy of the demigod Jacob Hansen, pretty much sell the album for me. It's also surprisingly heavy while keeping an old-school feel, which is really hard to pull off. You can tell the guys have a lot of experience. Oh, and I find it amazing that Ronnie is in his 50s and sounds better than he did 20+ years ago. Another one of my favorites from the album: It's pretty bizarre, but DAMN do I love it. And oh god, that break. SO BEAUTIFUL. ;_;

(Uploaded by GMF ) But hey, this is a good song, I actually quite enjoyed the game Megaman X 8. The thing that I wonder is why didn't they arrange they music in Maverick Hunter X to be like this? or at least keep the original OST on there. So sad. That said, the guys don't realize, the answer is power synth rock! That's how to recreate the old X soundtracks!
