Bah, I wasn't even trying to be funny, I just didn't want to write out Trails in the Sky. I figured everyone knew what TitS was And for the record I do find it slightly amusing, as does my wife, but more like a "what the? oh brother, that's ridiculous!" or maybe even ironic, but, I don't think that's the right word to describe it. It's not a "oooh, tits, har har" kind of thing for us. I didn't think I'd have to explain any of this, but, here I am. I think I do understand though. In today's society, people put more emphasis on body parts, then on the people themselves. We weren't created to be a bunch of various body parts, but, we get reduced to boobs & butts, etc. Quite frankly, I kinda think that entertainment in general try's to brainwash us...so to speak into reducing people, but, this is all waaaaaay off topic!

I just think it's a shame that a story featuring a strong and confident female lead will be referred to by a derogatory nickname for women's anatomy. That said, I can't think of a better translation than Trails in the Sky for Sora no Kiseki.
Anyway, we'll have to see how the translation of the actual script turns out. It's next month, guys!

Edit: actually, no, fuck you raison. I'm not getting lured into your trolling again. Fuck wasting my time on these stupid arguments. You do realize I said absolutely nothing to you, right? I like the irony in tryinig to provoke me while calling me a troll though! Classic Disgaemad! If you're referring to the fact that I don't find TiTS funny, well, I don't. I obviously have a very lewd sense of humor, so it's not like I find it offensive or anything. . . it just doesn't strike me as clever, and even if it did, repetition of even something hilarious quickly makes it stale. And if the virgin comment struck a nerve, it wasn't meant as derisive. There's an obvious link between sex and sexual maturity, but it's certainly nothing to be ashamed of. And if you're just upset because you saw RaisinD'elicious next to a post, and assumed it would annoy you without actually reading it. . . well. . .

Look, I didn't intend to be inflammatory. I preordered the game and I look forward to playing it and discussing it with you guys. But while I just find the "LoH: TitS" jokes unfunny, others may very well be legitimately upset by it. That's all.

HJ, I don't think Narugami fits the description you've given her. While I don't quite share her sentiments, being a teenage boy and all, I know how she feels, and it in no way makes her an "overly prideful feminist with an immensely sore rectum over a video game acronym." I think most people of legal age would feel the same way about the acronym. I wish I didn't find it funny, but I suppose it's a biological response.

Oh, darn. I thought it was. Can't we just pass it off as an honest mistake? Anyway, the whole "if you find this acronym funny you're obviously some immature and sex-starved guy" mentality is what's annoying. It has nothing to do with that unless you're 10 years old, which none of us are. Also, this didn't really offend me, but narugami's comment about how she couldn't POSSIBLY find the acronym funny, being a female and all, was incredibly self-righteous and, depending on how you perceive it, rather sexist as well. I'm a fan of just letting people say what they want and then responding in kind (which is what I did), but if you insist on going about it this way, I'd like it if you could inform yourself a bit more thoroughly before swinging down the hammer of justice.

Because attention whore'ing and subtle trolling is perfectly acceptable! Also, spoiling major plot points of a highly anticipated game without giving a single fuck is surely nothing more than an honest mistake!
Get a goddamn grip. How about you actually use your head for once and see that other people here are being condescending, belittling bastards? At this point I'm just sick of us being made out to be the big bad trolls because we're calling people out for completely legit reasons rather than being overly sensitive and spineless.
I guess you'll be deleting this post as well though, huh?

Well then, just as it's her opinion you can't find this acronym funny without being an immature horny guy, it's my opinion women belong in the kitchen. I hope you're not going to belittle me or censure me for expressing my opinion.

So, if I had said " In my opinion, narugami is being a butthurt and overly prideful feminist" it would have been okay? Really? This is a legitimate question by the way, because it sounds like you're basically telling me "IMO" is a shield that lets anyone say anything. This doesn't even make any sense. You truly are impossible to argue with, wyrd wad tom.

Sounds likes it's about time ALoY had some clear-cut rules involving phrases like "respect" and "deliberately antagonistic posts will no longer be tolerated"

wyrd wad tom confirmed for super biased against me for being an XSEED trailer hater. Also confirmed for terrible mod.
Well, clearly I'm fighting an impossible battle here. Have fun, brave warriors who still refuse to lay down the sword!

Sounds likes it's about time ALoY had some clear-cut rules involving phrases like "respect" and "deliberately antagonistic posts will no longer be tolerated" I agree. I just see posts of HJ's nature popping up more and more these days... Posts that are deliberately made with no other purpose than to ruin someone else's day or start battles to somehow or some way gain some type of attention or notoriety of being a or "the" trouble starter in a community. I know that this forum has always been pretty fair and welcoming of it's members, but this place also used to be a community of maturity and respect where most topics could be discussed openly and objectively. The kind of stuff I've read through today, from just this topic and the Terra topic alone (and not just from HJ either) where people are flamed for how they feel about certain issue or called names, or made to think that their work is garbage or that their ideas are garbage... It's just tasteless, disrespectful, and without manners or consideration for how others might react to such posts. I've seen this exact kind of attitude before from members that existed on my own Cave Story forums that I ran for several years. And without some sort of plan of rules enforcement, it spun out of control fast and eventually I had no other care in the world of dealing with it or repairing it. I became burned out and was happy as could be to finally be rid of it when I passed it on to someone else last year. It'd be a shame if this community that we come to participate in as an escape for some like myself, and one that we've all contributed to and worked so hard to build together ends up being something we could care less about because it just isn't tolerable anymore. That's all I'm going to say about that. Just an observation of what I've been noticing lately. So I'm definitely in favor of laying out some ground rules for when some crosses the line. -Thomas

I just see posts of HJ's nature popping up more and more these days... You mean posts standing up for one's own opinion? Except no one's been doing that. The fact remains that things've escalated to this level because the majority of people here are incredibly sensitive and can't handle even a bit of heated discussion. I don't think you've actually been reading these threads from an objective standpoint. Also, I find it hilarious how HJ's being portrayed as the bad guy here once again because he actually has the balls to voice a proper opinion. Edit: I should really just not bother with this shit. I'm genuinely getting angry.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, voicing one's opinions is PERFECTLY FINE. But there's a respectful, courteous way to voice one's opinion... and a rude, inconsiderate, jerk-ass way to voice one's opinion. And we've been seeing far too much of the latter lately. You've saved me a bit of typing there It's not about voicing an opinion, it's about doing it respectfully and with civility. "Balls" don't come into it. It's not about being nicey-nicey, let's-not-hurt-other-peoples-flower-like-souls either, just a bit of restraint and basic manners is all that's needed.

If you believe we're all "incredibly sensitive"... well, then fine, we're incredibly sensitive. This. I don't believe I have to assert by position as 'fragile as wet paper.'

While it's sad to see members leave, it's not really a surprise, considering the mood lately.
That being said, I'm not leaving until I have one seriously bad emotional breakdown... which I'm due for pretty soon.
