Well, it is the Terror Mask that he has on, and you can take a variety of random things (wrenches, 2x4s, butcher knives, and as you saw shotguns) and you do whack them into walls. It is REALLY awesome. Lemme tell you that again... REALLY awesome.

I didn't actually look at this topic until today, but was suspecting it was warlock. heh
Warlock was also on the genesis, though it was a library in the 2nd stage.
Was fairly unforgiving but interesting play. Story sucked but it was an amateur adaptation from some movie that came out around that time I believe.
P.S. I preferred the genesis one as well.

Not all along! I was waffling on my guess from that MS paint scene!
And he ruled out Castlevania, and until he mentioned Genesis, I wouldn't have guessed warlock at all!

Warlock actually isn't a bad movie, either! I mean... it's BAD, but it's good. One of those kinds of movies you'll really *want* to like, and it pulls a lot of cheesy things; specifically, an action sequence where an elderly woman is chasing the evil warlock, who is relaxing in a train! You just can't find that much originality these days! As for the game, it doesn't really seem to tie into the movies at all! Next game! This time I'm doing it for fun; I actually know what it is! Details ---------- Console: SNES Title: N/A Genre: Action-Platformer Areas: Stage/Level-based, Points of No Return Character: A black, round character wearing shorts... can't remember the color... Theme: I'm not quite sure, it seems to have a variety... it's very colorful, though! Timer: Maybe. Area 1: You come to a house and meet a magician who asks for your help, and tells you he knows where to find your lost pet. (?) There's a forest. You continue through a tricky platformer section with bramble. I think you collect gems or something like in Mario, but you collect permanent power-up outfits also. Enemies: Some flying enemies, I think.

I dunno - I see magician, dog and think Secret of Evermore even though it's probably wrong.

Crap, I missed Splatterhouse talk?
Fun fact: The Japanese Wii Virtual Console has the arcade version of Splatterhouse available for it... those lucky Japanese bastards

So far it might be
Zombies ate my neighbors. - the boy character is in jeans, and has a black shirt. Plus you do rescue various people, pets and such. There is many bright colors, and it is sorta a platform action game. Since you get to walk around alot, and jump on trampoleens.
Illusion Of Gi- Since a character does have a pet, ( that you have to rescue at one point ) and there is a magican, The character is in shorts. However I remember the piggy does sacrifice itself, so that you will live at one point.
Terranigma- Since rescue some type of black demonic thingy
Shadowrun ( Jake ) - since there is magicans and a dog..
A long shot it might be "Super Shadow of the beast" since he is black, and is running around what is shorts.
Another long shot might be "Lost Vikings" since they are naked asides for there lower halves. I never remember one being black colored.

Hint: The "black round" character "with shorts"... can also put out fires. It also may be a licensed title... Keep trying guys, I KNOW you can get this.

Speaking of Mickey Mouse games, has anyone here played Castle of Illusion for the Genesis? I loved that game.

Oh hells yeah. That is an amazing platformer with a great soundtrack. Early today I was compiling a list of Genesis carts I need to eventually pick up and I need to add that one to it

Anyways if I was correct. Then try and guess this.
Details ---------- Console: PCE Title: N/A Genre: J-RPG ( adventure/action ) /Comic adventure Areas: Stage/Level-based, Points of No Return, limited amount of lives Character: A Magical Girl Theme: Society, Imaginative, Timer: Maybe.
Area 1:
Basically you continue in the stage, fighting enemy. Sometimes you might see fellow citizens in background/foreground cheering you on. Imagine Michael Jackson but much saner.
Enemies: Some flying enemies, Human shape, I think.
Hints: The N64 game hero/main character dawns a similar costume. He can't really swim, but he sure can drive mean pick up.

Nope it was not Valis.
Hint: In, they like to do this for entertainment.
I am pretty sure it was Tanglewood. A game where a television looking creature walks across the screen on two skinny legs.almost like pac-man and there is level select map or something like that. Maybe I was thinking about another game.
