Actually wyrd, recent CFW eliminates most hassle with games requiring new firmware. Like on 5.50 CFW's, you can run UMDs requiring 6.10+, from what I gather. I'm using the most recent CFW so I'm all set. // Plus, recent CFW allows you to change the PSP Update function to search for CFW Updaters instead, eliminating much hassle! I have never required and will never require OFW! Face it, PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 are pointless, they're dead to me when I'm running a PSP-1000 with CFW. I have no reason to upgrade! // ALSO! With CFW, I can listen to OGG VORBIS, my personally preferred music format!!!

I'll agree that of all the tri-Ace games I've seen, VP2 has been the most interesting-looking. Haven't actually tried PLAYING it, but it looked pretty cool. -Tom Don't bother, it's absolutely awful. No.

Don't let Justin fool you, the PSP is a way better purchase than the Dreamcast! You can buy a Dreamcast whenever you want, for pocket change... but like you said, you may never see $200 again! Plus, just about every Dreamcast game worth its salt has been remade or ported to other consoles that you probably already own (consoles with better controllers, no less!), whereas the PSP has a ton of excellent exclusives that are still PSP-only. I own both systems, and let me tell you, I *never* play my Dreamcast... whereas I play my PSP all the time! WRONG! The Dreamcast has many more good titles to jam on than the PSP does. Plus, as you mentioned, its far cheaper than the PSP. Why this is a bad thing I'm not sure, because you can buy far more fun with $200 on a DC, than you can with a PSP. Dude, seriously read my post again before putting my recommendation down. I said that the QC is not perfect, but Sony is great at replacing faulty consoles. How is this a "scary" thing? If anything, it speaks in positive light. If you are going to reference my recent issue with the PSP, link it properly before putting my quote down. Its not fair to generalize my recommendations based on how I recently perceive the console. Would it be fair of me to tell Jessicat to ignore all of your ideas, simply because its obvious your a PSP fanboy? No its not, in fact it would be really immature of me to do so. Jessicat, I stand by what I've said. The PSP is a great console, and there is a chance (however small it may be) that the PSP could be faulty, but its nothing to stress over. Sony has a really good exchange program, and most consoles turn faulty before the 30 day in-store exchange is up. So what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get one! Smithee... I have your address. If you don't buy that Dreamcast, I'll sho ryu ken your ass till it turns blue

Barring shooters (FPS) and sports (UGH!!!), what are your Dreamcast picks? I only have Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 (and their GameCube re-releases; I've completed all of them 100%), Sonic Shuffle (which I haven't beaten; it's pretty bad), and Bomberman Online.

Dude, there are quite a few titles to go over, but I don't want to hijack this thread. I'll ether PM you later on with a good list of stuff, or I'll make a new DC post.

Yeah, I mean I know the Dreamcast isn't that outdated on a technical level, but are there enough exclusives to warrant a purchase of one, is what I mean?
And CFW GEN 5.50-D3 or 5.03-C can play all the games that require 6.20 firmware, which is the most recent ofw.

That's why I said 6.10+ -- as remembered from the readme. Yay, another CFW-er! *high fives*

TECHNICALLY Skies of Arcadia can be played on the Cube, but the music is such an integral part of the experience and the GCN's audio compression sort of ruins that.

Ugh, yeah, I tried holding my friend's PSP-1000 one time, and good GRIEF it was awful. I honestly suspect I would hardly ever play my PSP if it suddenly transformed into a PSP-1000.

Oh, I forgot to respond to something earlier: Better speakers, better contour, and lighter weight? -Tom 1. I use earbuds, or my TV's speakers instead. 2 & 3. I use RemoteJoyLite -- as such, all gameplay is handled with my PlayStation 2 controller hooked up to my PC. Add to that fullscreen visuals, and a PC-to-TV S-Video A/V Cable, and what do you get? Basically a glorified PlayStation console with a broader library, but I believe my point is made! XD

And sorry Justin, I wasn't trying to be a jerk about that. I guess that's what I get for skimming instead of fully reading. -Tom No worries dude, I was really unsure why you thought I was putting the PSP down

Really? Wow, that's the first bad thing I've ever heard about the GC version of that game. -Tom Its also missing the VMU/CHAM feature for obvious reasons. There are some minimal differences, but enough warrant playing through both versions.

Well, if I throw a PSP-1000 at you, that would probably hurt more than a shuriken, since the PSP-1000 is best described as a very advanced brick.

Supa geeky.
Yeah, so, I'll get 'em both. Eventually. Remember, young kid. No job.
Games be slim pickin's I gotta choose wisely. I usually like the older options better, less (no) waiting for things to come out. Okay, that isn't COMPLETELY true with the DC, but you get the picture.
