Be yer PS2 modded, Smithee?
If it is, I'd suggest tracking down a copy of OZ or The Sword of Etheria.
I'm also one of the like 10 people in the world that likes Chaos Legion but only the Japanese version. The NA and EU release can suck it.
Erm ... what else? Shadow Hearts series? :DDDDDDDDDDDD
I'd suggest Tales of Phantasia because the PS (as in PlayStation One) version is full of awesome but it's been ported to the PSP. But both are only in Japanese. :|
DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!?
Singstar?!?!?!?
Rock Band? XD XD XD
GTA3 set?
Beatmania games???
Pop'n Music!?
Warriors Orochi!?!?
I'm running out of suggestions since I don't have many games to begin with. X3

There is a 100% completed english fantranslation. DDDDDDDDDDDDD: I wondered about that! I looked at the status of the fan translation a couple of years ago but it was no where near half complete. ^^ Glad to know it's done. ^_^~ Now everyone can enjoy it ToP the way it was meant to be! (Or maybe the PSP one should be the definitive one?)

I liked Chaos Legion a lot, I even used to go by Victor Delacroix on forums. But what about the Japanese version is different?
As for ToP, Phantasian Productions still have a translation underway, but Absolute Zero has had a finished patch for ages, now. If you can understand Japanese, the PSP version is indeed the definite version. If you're feeling masochistic, however, might I suggest the GBA version?

I liked Chaos Legion a lot, I even used to go by Victor Delacroix on forums. But what about the Japanese version is different? Less grinding (for raising Thanatos). Less monsters. To me, the JP one had a good balance of just about everything. <3Oh, for the Super mode, Sieg will not die in one hit. He will, however, kill enemies in one hit like in the English version. I also notice that the scores for anything played with Super mode is not recorded. :| I was a masochist indeed! I didn't survive very long though. :V I forgot where I stopped playing. XD

I didn't think the game was very hard, either. I mean, it wasn't easy compared to a lot of stuff, but eh.

I could've sworn I made a nice long post about it here on these forums at one point, but search has failed me. It might've even included a video.... Found it: Over Zenith is one of those gems I bought on a whim. The advertisements I saw basically called it a "Rhytmical action game", which made me incredibly curious. It is a little bit of a slower action game because you can't just flat out mash buttons. You have to beat an enemy around a bit, and then toss it to a partner, they'll beat it around some more and toss it to someone else. As you continue chaining (Either the same enemy or others, since enemies die once they take twice their hp in damage even while still in a combo), you build up the OZ bar. And depending on the level of the OZ bar (the limit increases as you and your teammates begin to become closer to each other) you can unleash special moves which wreak havoc. At the end of each chapter you get ranked similar to how DMC1 did it, based on damage taken, highest combo, clear time, etc. There are plot choices that affect the outcome, a few different endings to get, a wizard of oz and a power rangers joke mission/costumes to unlock. You start out playing only as Feel, but eventually have the chance to play 5-6 other people if you choose in the main story, and they all handle differently. I think you'll need to at least be aware of visual cues for the tutorial, which teaches you how to do pretty much everything you'll need to know; I believe it shows button and joystick actions, but it is explained quite well and entertainingly in Japanese. Beyond that, just be aware of some basic Japanese such as the character names (They will call out who they're passing to, so you have an idea whether to be ready to 'catch' or who to make sure isn't going to be knocked around by a big enemy while beating on the combo), though a couple times you'll hear a character or two refer to Feel as 'boy' (either shounen or something else). www.konami.jp/gs/game/oz/ is the official site, along with music and video downloads (no story spoliers). It is one of those games that I highly recommend to anyone who likes a bit of action and a bit of fun. I haven't played Melty Blood (nor seen it), but it isn't really similar to muramasa. More like DMC without the devil trigger combos. The different characters all handle uniquely though. The story is a bit more touching emotionally, though I don't know how much would be lost without an understanding of the language, the cutscenes are often washed out as part of the art style. You're basically a boy named Feel who ends up having to save your sister Dorthy from someone else who are searching for the child of a God; accompanied by a little demon cat called Toto, and you encounter the OZ, elite guards of someone else. Siren 1 was released in the US, also on PS2. If you don't mind trial and error gameplay, it is otherwise the same as Siren 2. Siren 1 has very vague mission objectives and vague triggers to unlock additional story, so without a guide you spend a lot of time scouring levels and trying this that and the other, all while trying not to die. It is far far far more SURVIVAL horror than any other game released on the PS2 touting the genre name. Siren 2 fixes that one major caveat anyone ever had with the game, while keeping everything else. Siren 2 is slightly more combat/puzzle oriented than 1 was, due to the addition of a new type of enemy who is weak to light, so leaving the flashlight off and turning up the brightness so you don't alert the shibito everywhere doesn't work quite as well. It can be a bit of a collectathon, but you can replay any scenario whenever you want. The game isn't played in chronological order of the events, but rather in a progressively unfolding mystery. So sometimes you'll need to go back to an earlier time with another character and change something to make it easier later for someone else. It has more atmosphere and suspense than Silent Hill ever did for me (SH1-3 only, haven't played any others), though is less of a psychological horror and more of an ancient legend horror. I always like to recommend Siren to Silent Hill fans, before Fatal Frame. I usually avoid recommending Siren to Resident Evil fans because 90% of the time it isn't a survival horror game they're actually looking for. If you can find Siren, it will likely be cheap, I remember picking it up for $10 as another one of those "Sure, why not, I like horror games". haha

Random suggestion, because I don't think I read anyone mentioning this above (and because I was just listening to it's soundtrack and remembering how fun it was) - what about GrimGrimoire? It was one of the most unexpectedly amazing game I discovered on me PS2? Despite it's sort of repetitive stages, and short length, it was very, very nice! Oddly fun battles combined with incredibly interesting characters and VERY nice music~! And it has a very pretty art style too which Vanillaware seems to have carried over into Odin Sphere too? (Speaking of which, why not try that too, Odin Sphere, if you haven't? I have still yet to play it myself, and I remember reading nunuu throwing daggers of hate towards it, but whatever of it I did try seemed really nice!)
....Or wait, have ye already played these two? :'D
And has anyone mentioned the three Atelier Iris games?! :'D
Edit: Oh wait! .hack!!!!! All 7 of them! (that is, the original Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, Quarantine, and then the three G.U. games). Surely Smithee has already played them? If not, then ye should give them a chance!

I'll second Shadow of the Colossus. It's a game of boss fights. Nothing else. Excellent. I hear Okami is phenomenal, though I'm yet to play it. Also, if you're into samurai, you might want to check out Way of the Samurai 1 and 2. Action games with branching paths and multiple endings. Genji: Dawn of the Samurai was also very good.
If you're not into RPGs you might still want to give Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria a try. It doesn't really fit any of the typical RPG formula, and I liked it FAR more than I expected to. (I've actually been considering playing it again recently, which, due to time constraints, is something I seldom do)
If you do get into an RPG mood: Xenosaga. Xenosaga. Xenosaga. Some people bitch about the gameplay in the second one, but the the story is what makes the saga (though it was a bit rushed in the last episode after being cut down). I'd firmly recommend it to anyone.
Also, guys, thanks for introducing me to OZ. [adds to list]

PROTIP: You can skip playing Xenosaga ep.2 entirely by just watching all the cutscenes. Nothing of great plot importance happens outside of the cutscenes and you get to jump right into ep.3, the best Xenosaga game of all. Though if you choose to play through ep.2, it's only 15-20 hours if you don't do any of the after-the-end dungeons.
It was so short that despite the gameplay being kinda bad, I played through the game twice just so I could record the cutscenes to show to friends. haHa... VHS
EDIT: About OZ. I became aware of the game when they put a song from it in DDR with cutscenes from the game, but always heard it was a very mediocre game at best. No actual experience with it, but I haven't heard anything good about it.

I loved SoTC, although I STILL haven't finished it... but I will definitely get ICO. Hmmm, Way of the Samurai is one of my favourites of the past, the second could be delectable. Genji does seem pretty cool too. I've already watched all of the Xenosaga games, they're my favourite! Yakra, I'll look into .Hack but that's like... 7 games. D: Grim Grimoire looks really cool. If Okami wasn't so long I'd be interested, but as it stands, nope ):

How about Bujingai? XD It has GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACKT!
I never did get very far in the game. Hated the stupid useless map. Really doesn't help in the second stage with the bamboo forest. >:O
Maybe Onimusha stuff? I only played the demo to one of them (#4, I think). Seems okei. It's all hackity slashery.
Yakra: Odin Sphere ... >:E >:E >:E

Why is Okami's length a bad thing? No one's forcing you to play it in one sitting, and... I thought you liked RPGs, lol, so unless I'm wrong about that, an issue with length seems weird. If you like the Zelda-esque (action adventure, I guess) games at all, then you owe it to yourself to try Okami; it's the best of it's kind.
Look into the Yakuza games, too.
