Heyo, heyo. I got a PS2.
I already had one, but I want some good games. Like a philosophy.
So, what are some good PS2 games I might have missed out on.
I've already got around 50 PS2 games, but just shoot. Give a little description, and it's go.

God Hand.
It's worth 50 games by itself.

I hope I don't get shot for this, but I happened to enjoy playing it.
Eternal Ring.
Even I will admit the gameplay is not that strong, but the musical background was the one thing that kept me playing it (I luvs the Eternal Ring OST). I found it fun enough to play through and beat once (And out of my collection, just beating a game is an achievement).
Where I am, it is still possible to find and it typically costs around $5-10 Canadian.

Mana Khemia 1&2 are worth checking out if you are into the Atelier series. Since these are games developed by Gust, it goes without saying that you'll be fiding recipes, gathering ingredients, and making new items as you go along. Also, both games have quite quirky characters each of whom you can get to know better if you puruse his or her character quests (think of social links in Persona 3&4 although things rarely go beyond good friendship). Also, the battle systems in both games are easy to master and can get quite addictive. I also recommend Ar Tonelico 1&2. Once you can get past all otaku conventions (these games are literally filled with moe, bizarre fetishes, and cuteness), the stories, gameplay, and characters are quite interesting. It's really difficult to describe exactly what this series is about, but if you are looking for something unique, you should give it a shot.

My list is like, 90% RPGs...
Here's the good stuff I've played otherwise: Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (which I think you have?) - Mech combat. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven - Stealth action with ninjas instead of Solid Snake. I, personally, prefer this to MGS but I know I'm in the severe minority. Shadow of the Colossus - Open-world piece of art boss rush.

Yeah, I've got ZOE2
I'll check out Tenchu, it's been a long time since I played that.
Does the Mana Khemia have any glitches?

I heard Mana Khemia 1 has some, but I didn't encounter any when I was playing through the main game. I didn't attempt the bonus dungeon, which appears on the second playthrough, so I don't know about that. As for Mana Khemia 2, I heard there were some serious glitches that can ruin the game in the orignial Japanese version but again, I didn't encounter any when I was playing the North American version.

As for Mana Khemia 2, I heard there were some serious glitches that can ruin the game in the orignial Japanese version but again, I didn't encounter any when I was playing the North American version. There are two crash glitches. The first is a sidequest boss you encounter when you play the second character's story, you have to oneshot that boss asap otherwise the game crashes after a few turns, if you choose to retain all the items at the end of the first playtrough, you should have no problems. The second is in the very last part of the game you unlock once you beat the game with both the main characters I didn't euncounter that glitch but in certain situation when you use Ulrika as the main charcter(or maybe Raze... don't remember very well) the game crashes. Oh, I'm talking about the NA NISA version. I've already got around 50 PS2 games, but just shoot. Give a little description, and it's go. well, to sey a few titles that was not listed by the others: what about... Tales of The abyss? Persona 4? or maybe the recent Sakura Wars V?

*Notices something* You only have 50 PS2 games?! Hmm... Some other titles which might be fun to play: The Bard's Tale: If you are into main characters who's goals are anything but honorable, and a narrator who is a complete ****head, then this game is for you! Disgaea: Hour of Darkness: I have it, but have yet to play it, but I hear lots of good things about . Castlevania: Lament of Innocence: The little bit I managed to play I have no complaints about.

Got Tales of the Abyss and P4, but those are both awesome. My bro and I are gonna scrape off P4 before we start DDS. Sakura Wars does seem pretty cool, I'll keep it in mind. @kuro-chan: S'up Canadian! I too am Canadian, live in the nations capitol myself! Anyway, yeah, I've only got 50... I'm 16 and try to support 11 consoles without a regular income of any sort (no allowance, no job, rare birthday moneys and that's pretty much it). So it isn't so out of the ordinary. The first two you mention I'm not really interested in, having played some of both. The last one I'd love to get around to sometime, since I love Castlevania Keep 'em coming!

Aww, you are so young and live 6 hours from me (By car). I live in the Tri-city area, and lucky me I get to support a booming game collection with full-time employment since I am almost twice your age. Out of curiosity, are there still any smaller game store dealers in your area? Our small game store market was destroyed over the last five years with all of them but one closing (I think the last one bought his store rather than leasing, so it does not cost him a ridiculous amount to maintain the place). This leaves EB Games and Microplay as the only two dedicated stores in the area. Kinda sucks, if you ask me. I am looking at my game shelf, but I am not sure what else to suggest. I have some RPGs for PS2, but a lot of what I have are puzzle games, fighting games, unopened copies of Devil May Cry, etc. But since you have the PS2, that means you can also play PS1 games too, so there is another library at your disposal too. =) Hopefully you are using a high-quality video in connection like S-Video or Component, not the "yellow" plug (AKA Composite) or worse.... *shudders* The RF Box...

I'll reply in your order of paragraphs That means, like, Toronto right? I've never really been that far. Once I went to Sudbury, and I've been to Quebec twice, but never to the cities. So the biggest city I've been to is Ottawa... I've only went downtown a handful of times, if you don't count doctors appointments and the like (as in I've only ever shopped/expereinced downtown that many times). Microplay and EB are all that is left around here too. It sucks, and Microplay is all the way downtown and the like. Well, Ottawa is confusing, because it is like 3 small cities and like 5 bigger "neighbourhoods" put together. So, there're like two downtowns, in a way. It does suck though... I actually don't play many RPGs, oddly enough. I tend to stop in the middle of them, so recommend some fighters. I like the Fatal Fury series (RBFF2 and Mark of the Wolves are two of my favourites) a lot. Yeah, but I like playing PS1 games on PS1, so that I can play it without wearing the laser... I use Composite, yeah ): I'd like to get Component, or like you say, S-Video sometime. We'll see.

Hopefully your EB Games has the 3rd-party cables I picked up. I think mine were around $15 when I got them that lets me plug in Wii, PS2, and XBOX via Component. Way cheaper than the licensed ones and they seem to work fine. Mine also had a little feature: a switch button which lets you pick normal TV vs. HD TV. This makes no difference with the PS2, but it does affect the Wii plugin. Without the HD TV switch on, you will only get 2 of the three signals in (No Red). I do my gaming on a 24" picture tube (Can't play NES Duck Hunt on an LCD, Plasma or Projector screen. I have tried all three). The way my cable hookups are setup (need a flashlight to see anything, so I am never in a hurry to make changes), I only just discovered yesterday that my TV does support Component in, so I had to do some serious re-wiring of all my consoles. I have my consoles all setup on a stand beside my TV and wired into multi-boxes so that if I want to play a system, I just plug in the appropriate adaptor (I leave everything unhooked except when in use), press a button on my box and I am ready to go. (I know... Loserville here... ) I tell you if your TV supports it, then you should spare it when you can and upgrade. The difference in quality is THERE! You can actually read small font with no problem. If you have an older picture tube TV, you may still be able to support S-Video. It is not as good as Component, but I several game consoles hooked up by S-Video and I won't complain. You can also use the PS2 with Component signal to play PS1 games in high definition (Everthing looks so sharp. Quite nice). But one word of warning: I have heard of problems where the PS1 games crash when you have it hooked up via Component. That did happen to me once as well. I was playing Threads of Fate with the described hookup and as a scene in the game ended and it was loading the next one, the game froze. So far it was just once. And another note: You cannot hook up a PS1 system by Component. PS1 was never designed for it. The best you can do with a PS1 is S-Video.

You are right. PS1 movie clips you can REALLY see the low-quality problems that are present in them. I can notice this more on my projector than on my TV, however.
Me, I prefer to chance the flaws with an improved presentation. I can play King of Fighters '99 on my PS1 via composite... and everything just looks bad. The backgrounds look dull, the characters look blurred. It feels like I am running it through a bad filter. I hook it up to S-Video and the colurs look more distinct and vibrant, the fighters look more presentable.
When I switched to higher definition, I could not switch back... S-Video and Component are my new drugs. Composite is not addictive enough.

I think you're thinking of Ar tonelico II, not Mana Khemia II. -Tom Nono, mana khemia II, ar tonelico II has a crash glitch too, more famous, maybe. The boos I'm talking about is one of the first sidequest you have to do in the second playtrogh. Ulrika and Raze are the names of the two Main Characters. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=945027&topic=52838168

Wow... I had no idea Mana Khemia II had bugs like that too. You'd think NIS would've learned their lesson after the Ar tonelico II debacle! -Tom At least Sakura Taisen V seems to be bug-free.
