Mask of the Sun is my least favorite Ys. As for Ys 3, didn't the Genesis version have the exact same names used as the Turbo version? So they must've come from somewhere?
Anyways, I do have a different version of Wanderers for Turbo, where I use the music from Felghana, & even mixed in the voice acting in the song where the Galbalan is talking to Chester & Adol on top of the tower. I took out the intro music with "Think back to your worst nightmare", & replaced it with the more dramatic version of.....sheesh, you'd think I'd know the names of the songs by now. It's the dramatic version of the song that plays at the begining of Felghana(you know, with the piano, which I use for the pillar scene, where it explains the story of Ys 3). Eventually, I'm going to redo the intro story, with my own voice, imitating Alan Openheimer(narrator of Ys 1 & 2), & call Galbalan, "a Galbalan named Demanicus". And plus, I'll say "the people of Felghana" instead of Kenai(since I don't recall them saying Kenai in the rest of the game).

I love all the Ys for Turbo. Ys 3, it's got it's flaws, but, I've played that game so many times, I do really enjoy it. Not as much as 1, 2, or 4, but, I still think it's great despite it's flaws.

It was my favorite in the series until Ys the Oath in Felghana hit. They probably should have just kept making Ys on the PC Engine forever. Ditto!

Yeah, I actually put in a really high bid, which didn't get met thank goodness. I was willing to pay over 100 bucks for those, which is rare for me!

I've seen them on ebay occasionally, but, for 50, 60, 70 whatever. Too much for me to spend!

That soundtracks is reaaaaaaaaaally hard to come by. Heck, I don't even think there's been Hong Kong versions made yet.

I think they both technically continue the story. The only difference being that Sara returns in DOY, but is dead in MOTS. But, I don't think that stops DOY from continuing to Ys 5.

I love the fact that the goddesses are SPOILER SPACE relatives of the Eldeenians, that's just cool, instead of them being mysterious. I like explanations. I think I'm halfway thru MOTS right now, the magic system is....intersting, but, ultimatly, I think it stinks. I also don't like the fact that you can go diagonally........unless it's my controller!? And last time I checked, you can do that in DOY. I thought Mask of the Sun was a little lacking, myself. Not a bad game, by any means, but a little unpolished. Some aspects I found annoying (like the near-pointless magic). It does seem to be considered the "official" continuation of the series, though... And plot-wise, The Dawn of Ys takes a few liberties I'm not so fond of (its description of the origins of the Goddesses, for instance).

I agree. I feel that the Dawn of Ys was better than Mask of the Sun in just about every way. Sure, the graphics were lower res, but they were more colorful and better animated. The sound is obviously inarguable. Even the level and scenario design seemed superior to me. The storyline felt like it had a larger, more epic scope. DoY had the better magic system, and it had classic Ys hit detection too. Oh well, that's not to be down on MotS. I just felt it was more of an above-average game, and not pure genious like DoY. HERE HERE!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking of doing. She just beat Ys 2 last night. I'm gonna get her started on Ys 6 for PS2 since it's in english.

Nah, the mirror was used up already Armor ring only slows down the death, as does the potion, he won't turn around! I might go thru the game myself with a cheat, & get her back to that point.

Ok, so, I got my wife into Ys now! Yay! She's playing Eternal, & she hadn't saved in awhile, so she saved, but, was immediatly killed. Basically, she's facing left, up against a wall, & can't turn around as the enemies have her cornered & kill her. Adol can move, but, won't turn up, right, or down, but will show him trying to move left when I control him, he's stuck in this stupid corner being bashed. Any ideas? She finally gave up & is now play Ys 2. But, I'd like her to finish Darm Tower, she's so close to the end!

Finally found it on my phone! Not too shabby! I wish I could rip the music from the game, use them as ring tones.........or can I?? Anyways, for anyone looking, it's located in Strategy(atleast, that's how my phone works).
Wierd, the thieves are now called pirates!? And the guy in the bar was bought the ring for his mother, I don't remember that. Oh, & now the tree's are named after a man called Roda, who could speak with them, that's another thing I don't recall in anyother version.

I wouldn't say Final Fantasy 10 is lame, it's a decent game, not as good as the older games obviously, & deffinitly not beautiful like Ys. Final Fantasy 10-2.......I just can't get over the lame "dress" system, & how it's modeled after Charlie's Angels. Who knows, maybe someday I'll pick up........for REALLY cheap, & like it but, it's pretty much on the lame side of the spectrum IMO.

I'm pretty sure the xtra music in Darm Tower, was in the original games, but was left out of the Turbo version due to how much they could fit on a disc, cuz it seems like I've heard those songs before, on some Falcom collection disc or something.
