But, Tonkin' House made the SFC game, so, I think it would've been atleast slightly different, if Falcom themselves made MotS for SFC. And, Falcom could've made an Ys V for PCE, seeing how they made the LOX's themselves. So it would seem like they could've done it, with or without Hudson.

I don't think it'd be a remake of MotS exactly, but that's probably what it would be called I would guess. Frankly, I think they'd probably take elements from both MotS & DoY. But, either way, it wouldn't be a remake of either, since neither we're truly Falcom's games, if I understand correctly, but MotS storywise was spot on, compared to DoY.

I think all 3 of Taito's Ys are.....just ok. There are things I liked, & things I hated. I think for the most part, I did enjoy this Taito's Ys 4, more then the SNES one. I haven't played thru 5 yet though, kinda want to wait until I play thru the SNES one in english.

Falcom's PSP ports of Gurumin and ED6 FC/SC are Falcom's first console games in a very, very long time. The only other console games they had developed prior to that were Ys V, Popful Mail (SFC) and The Legend of Xanadu 1-2 (PCE). All the other Falcom console ports/remakes/original releases were made by other companies that bought licenses for the game (or even just name, like Faxanadu) in question. However, Falcom WERE involved in Ys IV, Super Brandish and Popful Mail for Mega-CD as well as ED1-2 and Lord Monarch for Mega Drive. Super Brandish? Wait, when you say Ys 4, Super Brandish, & Popful Mail for Mega-CD, are you saying all 3 of those were for Mega CD? I know there was a planned Ys 4 for Mega CD, didn't hear anything about Super Brandish.

Beautiful, though, with the their track record(1 & 2 remakes, 6 new, 3 remake, Origin new) I figured the next game would be a remake of 4 or 5, of which, I think we need both. Since, 4 just needs a proper version made & released by Falcom, & 5 I'd like to be expanded upon, & since, I hear it's the shortest of the series(only Ys I haven't played thru yet). Either way, though, I'm happy.

Hmm, I'm wondering if maybe this IS a sequal. Abel Renford, could indeed by Adol in his later years, since he lost his memory. And a Queen of Esteria? I've never heard anything like that before, she is a descendant of the 6 priests, though it doesn't say her last name. Would there have been a Queen of Esteria in the 700 years between Ys rising & falling? It doesn't seem likely. But I could be wrong.

You know what, the only RTS I've ever played, is Warcraft 2, & I loved it. That game sucked me in. If it's half the game WC2 was, that's fine. If it sucks, I'll still buy it, but, really, I won't know until I play it for myself.

I'm assuming the Vortex is pretty old, since Alma probably just traveled over from Eldeen, so, if you're correct about the Romun having control over Cannan, then, I'd say this is after 6, unless like you said, the writing is screwed up

I'm not a big strategy fan, but, I'm looking forward to it. I enjoyed Warcract 2 back in the day, which, has some similarities to Age of Empires, so, this game might end up rocking for all I know.

I'm excited! I mean, hell, it's wierd for an Ys game to be an RTS, but, I got used to Suikoden Tactices, so I'm sure I can get used to this. Plus, I used to play the hell out of Warcraft 2 back in the day, & the Age of Empire games always seemed really similar, though less interesting to me.

I'm gonna wait for a NA release myself, & if it never comes out, I'll just pick up the Jp release to have it in my collection.

Well, I'm disapointed as well. I was hoping it was going to go the same route that Konami is taking Suikoden with Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics, basically something like Vandal Hearts or FF Tactics. But, Age of Empires? Who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it. It just doesn't look appealing. I mean, Age of Empires is a cool series, but, to merge it with Ys? I also wonder if this is a prequal, &/or involves the Romun Empire, maybe the rise of their Empire?? That's my guess. I already have a DS, initially got it for Lunar Dragon Song, which, as most of you probably know, isn't so great. I don't hate it, but, it's not as good as 1 & 2. But, with the 2D Mario coming out, not to mention Children of Mana & Final Fantasy 3, I'm a happy camper with the DS, but I still want a PSP one of these days, especially for Legend of Heroes 4 & Daxter! Wee, back to the subject. I wonder if this'll even make it outside of Japan?

Well, this is still great news, even if the translation is horrid, but hopefully it won't be! Agreed. I'll buy this game, oh yeah. The only BIG problem is: I don't have a DS. That's ok, I don't have a PSP, but I do have 5 PSP games. And I'll probably pick up Far East of Eden Ziria for the 360, even though I might never have a 360 xD Still I'll buy it...maybe a friend could lend me a DS.
