Remember that line the Joker said to the gang of mafia leaders in the movie?
"Kill... The Bat Man"
That line was priceless. No wait, his disappearing mechanical pencil trick is even better. Mwahahah.
Anyway I'm not Christian, and I never really cared for Christmas, except that it was a day for me to rest. And I sure do not like cake.... unless it's filled to the brim with chocolate fudge.
If you ask me, I'm more Marvel than DC. Gimme Ironman anyday over the bat man.

Or as the Joker once said:
"Batman! Batman! Well somebody tell me why we live in a world where someone dressed up as a bat STEALS MY PRESS!? THIS TOWN NEEDS A NEW ENIMA!!"
Man, Love that Joker!!
Anyways, non-theatrical wise, just watched Walking Tall after god-knows how long. Any one can agree, The Rock with Johnny Knoxville, interesting combo.

I am not Christian ether, but that doesn't mean you can't escape the relentless power of the Christmas Fruit Cake

Dude, Iron Man kicked the CRAP out of Dark Knight, six ways from Tuesday! I have to completely disagree there. Although both are good movies, they both try and accomplish completely different things. The Bat Man? ? Its Batman!!!! and you get no fruit cake for Christmas now Quote from Wikipedia: "Batman (originally referred to as the Bat-Man and still referred to at times as the Batman)" It isn't wrong to say the Batman. Anyway, I just watched Sin City. Can't say I enjoyed it.

Both stories deal with rich playboys trying to be heroes. Only difference is Tony Stark makes his own toys by his own hands, Bruce Wayne just asks Morgan Freeman to do it for him. And Robert Downey Jr is kick ass smarmy, way more entertaining than a broody Christain Bale (not that I don't like Bale, he's awesome... in other movies). And it doesn't help that the hero is overshadowed by the villains in the movie. And the costumes... Man, the only gripe I have with comic book heroes are their wardrobes, come on where do you think all the "Underwear on the outside" jokes come from? Tony Stark's tin man costume is so much more awesome than black spandex. But hey, it's your preference. Just my 2c. jet16: I kinda like Sin City though. And it's kinda interesting/fascinating to see a demented Frodo Baggins.

Makes for a better story, and I just can't stand "go get em" "lets save the planet" super heroes. They are just hippies with god given talent. Still one of the best Spiderman stories, was the black costume affair. Those comics were so great, I mean it was Spiderman but he was kicking serious ass, all teetering on the edge on insanity, man that was a great set of books. Batman is just as flippin nuts as the guys he helps put away, and thats why I love him. Hell even look at Venom, well 90's Venom (Marvel f'ed that series up good imo). He even eats the badguys sometimes!!! I mean whats more cooler than that? Spawn anyone? You know the guy who sold his soul to Malbolgia, just so he could return, and ends up being the recruting vessel of death for the prince of darkness. He has to fight Heaven and Hell, and even crazy corporate CEOs, all while trying to save his soul. I won't say Ironman isn't a great hero, or is a great comic, but Tony Stark's story is boring boring boring to me.

Dark tortured soul "heroes" are the worst, because it's pretty much impossible to keep them from becoming an angstwhore outside of the hands of a very skilled writer. Few people can draw a line between realistic, believable reactions to tragedy, and cartoonish DBZ-like waging like a spoiled child.
Then again, I kinda note you're mentioning comic book characters, so I suppose that's to be expected on the whole.

Hmm, stopped watching movies for a while. The only reason I'd watch the House Bunny would be for the boobs... err I mean babes.
I'm still waiting for Tropic Thunder to hit my shores.

Watched Tombstone two nights ago on History Channel with my dad. Val Kilmer in that movie plays an amazing Doc Holiday. Crazy how much to see how much he has changed in appearance over the years.

On my flight to Vancouver, I watched Kung Fu Panda and about 2/3rds of Iron Man. I probably could have finished watching Iron Man had I realized that the descent into in the Vancouver airport was going to take 20+ minutes. >_> But noooooooo! I had to stop the movie. :P
I guess I could have started it up again and just sifted through the chapters till I got to the part I left off at but apparently, constantly fastforwarding or just constantly moving around the movie might cause the screen to freeze. :O
Oh yeah, on the back of each seat on the plane, there was a little TV monitor. That's what I was watching off of. :B

I watched Siren:Forbidden Siren (stupidest title ever) the other night. It was just awful.
I love the Siren games, especially the first one. They are hard as nails, but always fair and always rewarding. The atmosphere is impeccable. The story is cool for a video game story in that everything is disjointed and if you want to understand what is going on you really have to think and pay attention and research (!!). A lot of the story is explained through optional archive items (basically little text things you read outside the game proper). It's an awesome and very serious "crazy cult" story that makes RE4 look like the awful caricature of a hollywood blockbuster it really is.
So how did they adapt Siren into a movie? They took your standard modern Japanese horror movie template and put the word SIREN on the title screen.
You've got your stupid jumpy/randomly sped up camera work that is all the rage in Japanese cinema and commercials (basically the same thing since Japanese movies tend to have the production of a tv commercial), you get your stupid little kid who is autistic or whatever who can see ghosts and stands around pointing at stuff (you're supposed to get chills from this I guess), you get your HIDEOUS AND NONSENSE plot twist at the end that renders the rest of the movie invalid. No long haired Japanese ghost girls though!
There are so many problems with this movie. They speed up a chase scene and do this bizarre choppy editing thing that is hard to explain. But then they show you in long and painful detail a character climbing up a ladder.
It's also the kind of movie where the main character is slowly unraveling a mystery but they handle it so badly. There are plenty of scenes where they will show some text to you, the viewer, and instead of assuming you can read the main characters reads it for you. What??? And as the heroine figures stuff out she is constantly verbalizing everything. It would be like if you couldn't find your car keys and no one was around and you were narrating every step of your investigation. "But I thought! No, they aren't here... but I could have sworn I put them on the table. Wait! How about the bathroom, maybe in there!"
Modern Japanese horror movies are awful!!!!!
With the exception of Audition.

If you like horror movies, and want to watch an excellent modern horror movie from Japan (and aren't particularly squeamish) you should give Audition (オーディション) a rent. Director is Takashi Miike, famous for the Ichi the Killer movie.

Watched Mirrors. It was the usual scare flick with the common scare tactics. But the blood and gore was a surprise and might be upsetting to some.
Always hated watching horror and slash shows, but I had to because the girl I was with insisted on it...
Bah, next show I'm gonna watch is Death Race. Gotta take my mind off horror shows.

Due to family and guests dragging me to the video store and INSISTING I pick a movie so they could force me to sit out there and be social with them...I recently watched "Mirrormask".
Given it was written by Neil Gaiman, I knew it was going to be a total mindf**k, even if it was going to be of the G-rated kind. I was right. Not a bad movie at all if you like incredibly strange surrealism (which I do) but yeah, not good for a casual watcher who likes their movies to make sense from start to finish.
Needless to say, since they gave up trying to follow that weird as all hell plot, I got out of any more forced social interaction. Thank ya, Mirrormask~
Seriously though- it IS a good movie if you like Gaiman's works. It suffers a bit for being in movie format (no denying he's definitely better suited to graphic novels), but for keeping it into the G rated range, he still managed to make it pretty freaky and surreal with his distinctive touch.
Recommended if you like his works and don't mind a bit of a perpetual "WTF..?" balloon floating over your head; not recommended if you have a hard time keeping track of plots.

Heh, what did you think of the EPIC BATTLE at the end of Mirrors? I loved how that movie was basically two movies, and the second pretty much made no sense. -Tom Well... being a non horror buff... I was cursing and swearing at myself for even watching this in the first place. I was mentally bracing myself for every fright scene in the movie that I didn't even think much of the plot. But when the EPIC Battle came, I was kinda back on familiar ground as I thought "Hey, it's now some kind of man vs monster video game fight" I'm not timid by nature by I tend to stay away from such movies because I get emotionally affected by them. It feels like every horror movie I watch takes a chunk of my life span away yet I keep my eyes open in some morbid sense of fascination. The last horror movie I watched was this Thai horror flick Shutter. Now that was one hell of a horror film. Took away 3 years off my life span and I kept scrutinizing photographs for the next few weeks...

Just watched Eagle Eye. The plot's kinda meh, but Shia and Michelle's acting and great action scenes more than made up for it.
I think Shia Lebeouf is becoming one of my fav actors no matter what others might say of him.
