Started watching Stargate: Continuum this morning but only got about half-hour in before I had to leave. It's sort of yawn-inducing for this first chunk of the film but hopefully, it'll build up to some awesome battle scenes! >:3
Still, it was interesting to see Richard Dean Anderson NOT being as wise-cracking as he usually is. (Guy still has his one facial expression going through.) I'm not sure how much more screentime the man's going to get, however. :/

I dunno, I have to ignore wyrdwad for once on this and look forward to the Dark Knight. I liked Batman Begins (I was overly pessimistic at first, thinking "Yeah. Batman Begins... AGAIN... when does he end?") and if this movie happens to be dark as I'd hope, I will love it. Anything that bears some semblance to The Crow (The first one, w/Brandon Lee) has to be a good movie. (Except for the many sequels to The Crow. I'm scared of seeing them... what if they fucked up a very very good thing?)

Saw The Dark Night yesterday. Best comicbook adaptation ever, and an awesome movie! Heath Ledger deserves a postumous oscar. He did the definitive movie incarnation of the Joker. Really great!

I thought Heath Ledger was dead.
It should be noted that I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA who that is. But I still thought he was dead.

He is dead, he died not too long after they finished filming his shots. They all die legends, don't they?

That's why I said POSTUMOUS oscar. The Dark Knight was his last film. Guess being the joker messed up his head.

He's the guy who did Brokeback Mountain.

That's probably why he OD'd. Ironically, he didn't want to be remembered as Jake's cowboy fling... so he dies before he could do anything to make people forget "oh yeah, that's the guy that did Jake in the tent!". X) Tragic.

Speaking of which, I need to get Sin City too; that movie was awesome! It's all about vigilante justice! Without that, you don't have much of a movie.

I highly doubt that. A child that's 3 years old and a flourishing career, he had more to live for than to just OD himself because of a movie that he clearly felt he could act in without second thoughts. And one he acted well in at that. I also doubt he felt the need to break off ties with Jake since he made him the godfather of his child. I really don't see him as a person to fall to petty feelings like that. He spoke of great inability to sleep after acting in TDK and I'm Not There, most likely yearning for sleep all that happened was an accident.

Yeah, I can see that. What I wrote was more or less a guess and fiction knotted together, and does not in any way represent the truth behind Heath's death.

Saw Dark Knight and LOVED IT! But I definitely see what Wyrdwad is talking about when it comes to how dark the movie is. I was surprised, but man I have to see it again soon.

I just saw the movie last night and could never imagined it to be like that. It was sophisticated and had lots of dangerous events. Proves how dangerous one man can be. Loved it!

That sounds like one of the reasons I liked Spiderman 2 more than Spiderman 1; seeing Doc Ock every other scene just tear away at Peter and Spiderman's life the way that he did was just breath-taking, I was still talking about it after I had left the theater. That's the way I think a good movie should be -- gives you something to really grasp and hold onto, even if it's the adrenaline you get from watching relentless villains going all-out.

Dark Knight was an excellent movie. Heath did a damn fine job as The Joker, but the way the role was written kinda made it too much to swallow for me, unfortunately. =[
That being said, the OTHER major antagonist, whom I shant name, was awesometastic and I did not expect to see him at all, let alone see him done so well. But given they managed to make frickin' SCARECROW awesome, it was a pleasant surprise.
I wonder whom they'll use for the next movie? I'd love to see them give some life to Bane, myself.

My friend said the guy who made the music of DK made the music of Blood+ and was wondering if he was right or not. Mr.Freeze would be a good new villain but I can't imagine him to be dark.

I really loved the soundtrack to TDK too. That creepy sound whenever the Joker's going to appear really gets the tension and creepiness through. I absolutely disagree with the Captain as to how the Joker's character was written. For me, they made him really believable: a psycho that's also incredibly inteligent in a disturbed kind of way. He's not extravagant or silly, just a maniac whose only objective is chaos. I think they really got the essence of the Joker from Dark Knight Returns or The Killing Joke. I understand wyrdwad in not liking the film, because it's so dark, but for me that's exactly how a Batman movie should be. I think the next main villain will be the OTHER one from this film, seeing as how they set his story so well. I agree that he looks amazing, just like in the comic books.
