And I think the guy two over from that is from a Tales game, or from Star Ocean 4. Ah, I thought that was possibly Ken, with the blue-hairdo to the left of him possibly being from a SMT title (but I said Baroque since the two main characters have uncanny simialarities), followed by the other blue-hairdo on the left reminding me of Disgaea. I knew Adol, but wouldn't mention him due to the fact that he's pretty well-known around these parts.

I hope the remake is made from Falcom itself and will be epic in the Felghana style. Anyway the picture posted in the OP reads: "Ys has evolved" "From Ys I & II Chronicles" to Ys 7"
Can this be a strong hint that the entire saga will be remade to be compliant to more modern standards?
Below Ys I & II Chronicles is confirmed for Summer 2009 (so we have to expect a June- Sept. release) while for Ys 7 I can only read year 2009, the last 3 kanji are too blurry.

But that's really not an arabic seven. Not unless if Falcom was meaning to be exotic and failed badly! X'D It could.... actually pass for a two? (Seven is a V!) Or a greek seven as jeffx said (which I have no clue about!)? Why must you doubt me? Behold, the power of wikipedia.

Wow, Jeffx, that Greek 7 in contrast to the Ys 7 logo is SPOT ON. Good eye!
Hmm, I wonder if it will take place in the "Greek" part of the Ys World then, rather than Altago, which is closer to Afroca.

I feel like a dirty fanboy. I spent all week waiting for Friday and I spent all day Friday counting down hours until the event and was even away from the dirty internet for like two hours after it started, only to get online and find.. crickets. If I hadn't been so damn tired at the time I would've been upset, but all I could think about by then was my bed.

Hm, still looking through articles on the event and it looks like quite a few people who definitely went are saying they showed a picture of the setting (a map, I guess) and it looked like, or was, Altago.
In other news, there's going to be a feature in the Dengeki Playstation due for release at the end of the month on Ys.

Fingers crossed for a decent version of Tension. Can't stand the synthesized trumpets of the one in Origin. Here here! Best version ever of Tension was in Ys Complete. *____* Indeed, COMPLETE did have the best version but Origins version wasnt half bad either, I liked it. That's DS Adol on the right, right? And the fifth from the left is the little king from Little King's Story, if I'm not mistaken. And I think the guy two over from that is from a Tales game, or from Star Ocean 4. That's all I got, though. -Tom Correct and correct..... but, the character from Star Ocean 4 (Edge) is actually 2 to the right of the king and the tales character (Yuri) is 1 to the right of Edge. Well, all the games on my sig starting from left to right are.... Marumasa, Arc Rise Fantasia, Phantom Brave, Rune Factory Frontier, Little Kings Story, Fragile, Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, Shining Force Feather, SMT: Devil Survivor, Black Sigil, Avalon Code, Valkyrie Profile: CotP, Legacy of Ys I and II.

XD Not actually. Adol's age at: - Ys I = 16 - Ys II = 16 - Ys III = 19 - Ys IV = 18 - Ys V = 19 - Ys VI = 22 Are you saying that the "Book of Ys" tells lies! Did Falcom actually publish something that contradicts other source material? Did Adol not really run a time attack for his quests finishing the entirety of Ys I & II and IV in a single year? ... I actually don't know where you got that information from. xD When you play most versions of Ys III (like Mega Drive's) it says 3 years passed since Adol's last adventure that occured in the first two games. And then in Ys IV (not sure which one, but probably on both), it is said 2 years had passed since the events of the first two games. Adol's age in Ys VI is easy to know since Raba says it has been 6 years since the events in Darm Tower, and... hm... If I'm not mistaken, in its PS2 intro, Terra appears and says that it has been 3 years since they met in Xandria, so you can conclude's Adol's age in Ys V with that too.

Man, all this hate for Disco Tension. It's not so much the arrangement itself as the awful awful trumpets. Overall, I thought Origin had a lot of really great songs but the instrumentation wasn't all that great and some songs suffered a bit because of it. Tension would be one and Scarlet Tempest another. It's an awesome song but I find it hard to listen to because of the choice of instrument for the lead melody. Now the Super Arrange Version on the other hand. Might be one of my favourite game tunes.

Different tastes I guess. But yeah, two Ys-soundtracks being released in the same year is pretty great news. ^^

Did Adol not really run a time attack for his quests finishing the entirety of Ys I & II and IV in a single year? ... I actually don't know where you got that information from. xD Well, the information that is on the side of the map that shows a chart of Adol's age during his adventures is from the same book as the Ys World Map: Ys Complete Works -Perfect data of Ys I ~ VI- Falcom Page: www.falcom.com/licence/product/15_e.htmlSo that is why I thought it was official information. But if what you are saying is true, then Falcom themselves got it wrong in that book. I need to get the correct age information for Adol during his adventures clarified sometime, because I'm quite confused now as to what the correct ages should be. -Thomas

Hm... do you think there would be a way for you to scan the part where it showed Adol's age in the games? It's strange to be such a major mistake on a such informative book.

Huh.
That is weird as shit.
We need to find where Ys III and IV's dates came from, precisely. If I were at home, I'd check my Mask of the Sun rom. =|
Edit: Coz I recall it exactly like Ryed does. Only I don't recall where the other two factoids came from.
