I'm pretty sure about Adol's age.
There must be some text accompanied by that map, I suppose. In japanese.
And if there is, I wonder if they mention anything about changing their minds about the timeline.
I wonder if omgfloofy has translated that part yet. xD

To be fair, the math all adds up the same in the end. Especially since we don't know what dates these events took place at, or when Adol's birthday is.
So we're all right about the age. It's the timing of specific events that I am curious about.

The timing of IV is what confuses me too. I've only played through MotS once, and to be fair I rushed parts of it since I wasn't all that impressed, so I don't know it all that well. DoY however, certainly feels like it takes place right before III. Considering the intro of MotS i suppose it could take place right after I/II. But this might be contradicted in the dialogue.. as I said, I don't know it that well.
So if this theory holds up it could be...
17 -> I/II/MotS
19 ->DoY/III

I like that way of looking at it. Especially since it sort of makes the whole "what's canon and what's not" discussion irrelevant.

I really should have learned my lesson. After staying away from Ys news for ages I found out that VI was being released about a week before it came out and had to scramble to get the limited edition. Then I paid more attention and was on the ball for Oath and Origins. Now when I know VII is in the works I stop paying attention and once I take a look at what's up I see not only news of it but a new I-II project as well?! Sweeeeet. Here's another look at the promotional piece. Not much but it makes the Ys IV art a lot more obvious. And yeah, the way it's written teases me with the possibility that they're planning remakes of IV and V as well. The 'kara/e' construction usually indicates a range rather than distinct points so it sounds like they might be hinting that they're redoing them all. Granted, I-II might not need it depending on what Chronicles turns out to be, III no longer needs it thanks to Oath and VI is too new... but IV and V need it badly, especially IV since Falcom doesn't have a version to call its own. |

Wow... I actually missed this thread... work sure takes a toll on you...
Anyway, I really want the games to be on PC.. but the "cero" rating on the pic is kinda worrying for me...
Isn't cero a console only rating? If that's true and Falcom decides to go all out console, I think I'll go commit suicide or something.

Isn't cero a console only rating? Actually, no it isn't.  Its application is just a lot more lax when it comes to PC games. Also, who's to say the CERO undecided isn't just for PSP Ys I&II Chronicles, anyway? |

Part of me hopes it's on PC for the best gfx, part of me hopes it's on console(PS3!), just cuz I love playing games more on a tv, sitting on my sofa, rather then at a desk looking at a moniter. I do have a video out that goes to my tv in my office, but, still, I want to play it in the living room!

Well I'm hoping Falcom finally pulled their resources into dx10 implementation for Ys SEVEN. At least provide an option for both dx9 and dx10.

I dont know, it seems likely that 7 would head to PC first then 360/PS3 months later. I hope for my sake it is on the 360, my PC cant handle crap anymore and Im not interested in buying a PS3 at all.
