Yup, only way to play for Alloy users to play against each other is though installing Xlink Kai or through the PS3's Adhoc Party function/add on which you can get through the PSN.
I have used Xlink Kai for Dissidia and its neat.

Adhoc party might be ofw only. Xlink Kai works with both OFW and CFW since all setting changes are on the PC not the PSP.

I see many images of Adol and Estelle's facing against Joshua, including this trailer. All I gotta say is "Adol, you are the man."

I gotta say that I'm not diggin' the portrait animations. Reminds me too much of poor Flash animations.
Also what was that giant robot in the one gameplay shot? I hope that was a story mode boss! Having Falcom-style large bosses scattered throughout story mode would make Ys vs SnK even more solid

Gothic outfit, scythe, giant robot... check
Bummer. I was worried that it was someone from SnK's special attack and not some largely awesome boss.

Yep, Patel Matel. Fear the ones that look cute and innocent for they are the most dangerous of all...
Also, that is a ****load of new support characters. The only thing we're really missing now is some Zwei II and Ys IV-V love.
ETA: Also, Popful Mail. How could I forget that?

Why do people call it Patel Matel, it sounds like a plastic toy ;_; Thanks to the joy of Japanese Ls and Rs, it's clearly supposed to be Pater Mater. As in the Latin words for father and mother. Think back to all the times Renne says it's the only mother and father she ever needs, etc. Fits perfectly

Then Falcom had to release 3rd with the images that had it spelled out as 'Patel-Matel' on it. XD;

I agree. Sometimes it's okay to go against Falcom's romanizations. Fukt, Crshe, etc

Sometimes it's okay to go against Falcom's romanizations. Heck, we have an entire topic devoted to where and why we ignore one translation or another. Oh did you? I would! Thanks to the joy of Japanese Ls and Rs, it's clearly supposed to be Pater Mater. As in the Latin words for father and mother. Think back to all the times Renne says it's the only mother and father she ever needs, etc. Fits perfectly Ahh, thanks, I'm going to start calling it that from now on. But back to this game (and appropriately enough, Renne): That's a pretty awesome shot of Chester, Renne and Lowe together. Also, extremely scary. If those three team up against your character at some point during story mode I think I'm just going to kill myself and save them the trouble. Also, it just now occurred to me that thanks to the RPG mechanics we're finally going to learn what to call Lowe's funky sword. Lastly, the music. Oh god the music. That's going to be one huge (and supremely epic) OST if they include everything. Talk about your one-stop shop for Falcom musical goodness. Here's everything I caught scrolling past, plus what was posted on the site. Original:Day/Break Childlike Eyes Blaze At My Feet Twilight Wanderers From Ys:Tension Final Battle From Ys II:Ice Ridge of Noltia Over Drive From Ys III:Chop!! Valestein Castle The Strongest Foe Descendant of Genos From Ys IV:Celceta, Sea of Trees (Woohoo!) Bronze District Temple of the Sun Theme of Adol 1993 (not named but you can hear it in the background at the end) From Ys V:Break Into Territory From Ys VI:Release of the Far West Ocean Mighty Obstacle Ernst From Ys Origin:Genesis Beyond the Beginning Scars of the Divine Wing Scarlet Tempest From Ys Seven:Innocent Primeval Breaker Rush Out (so now do we get the full version?) From Sora no Kiseki FC:Hollow Light of the Sealed Land Recovery Silver Will From Sora no Kiseki SC:Dive Into Your Fate From Sora no Kiseki 3rd:Cry For Your Eternity Maybe It Was Fated Phantasmagoria Overdosing Heavenly Bliss From the Drama CD:Dragon Dive (Tita's Chapter) Always On My Mind (Klose's Chapter) From Zero no Kiseki:Get Over The Barrier -Roaring Version- From Legend of Heroes II:Stopper Grosstoss Castle From Legend of Heroes III:Dark Beasts Appear Roudo Castle From Legend of Heroes IV:Out Of My Way! Ochtum's Wish A Line To Protect From Legend of Heroes V:Limits of Power I Won't Forgive Interference To Every Future From Gurumin:Soaring Through Azure Sadness Silence of Negative Ions To Make the End of Digging (Best. Title. Ever.) From Brandish:Headless From Brandish 2:Gadobadorrer Karl Kyares From Zwei:Illusionary World Serpentina Demon King Vesper From Zwei II:Dog Fight! Leave It To Ragna From Sorcerian:Dungeon (Lost King's Scepter) Town (Pentawa) Gedis (Sorcerer of Darkness) Bloody River (Lucifer's Floodgate) Castle of Sand (Cursed Oasis) Blue Dragon From Xanadu:Four Wind Gods The Last of Dragon Slayer From Xanadu Next:Evildoer From Vantage Master:Phantom Demon War To A New Road Warriors From Monarch:Advice ~Come to Mona's Shop~ From Dragon Slayer IV:Lyll Worthen (boy, this game brings back memories) From Dinosaur:Spirit Tower And if that wasn't epic enough, apparently there's about eighty more songs they haven't revealed yet.

Please say it's gonna be an ARRANGE of Warriors from VM Japan. If so, you seriously made my fucking life.

Hooray for Ys 4 love. That's the one game in the Ys series that deserves a ton of attention and gets almost none from Falcom. If memory serves, I think they mentioned something about a remake?

On the subject of the music, I think the only new arranges we're getting are the ones on the bonus OST. However, there's going to be over 150 tracks overall in the game according to the system page on the site.

So, is anyone else hoping there will be an unlockable fundoshi costume for Dogi?

I think it's just you...
However, I'm pretty certain Falcom could capture a significant share of the fangirl market if they included an alt costume of Lowe without a shirt on. Whether this is desirable or not is another matter entirely.
To balance things out however, if Falcom does go down that route they must also include a bikini alt costume for Crshe.

Don't forget ripped and scarred Adol! ign
To be honest, I'd be happy if there were any alternate costumes.

I was thinking the same thing. That was a detail they didn't need to put in but totally worked.
