I'm gonna go with Olha and Elena.
I'd agree on lilia, but I can't figure out her age. I think they gave her age as like 16 in the Vs game, during which Adol is 23. So in Ys II, he's like 16-ish, so she'd be like 9. Japanese games are good at bringing out the Pedo in all of us, but that's going a bit far.

Aisha did get on my nerves a bit... it was this "i'm royalty... and a spoiled brat" attitude but her character was well written where she came around...
zanzibar... i was hoping i could use dogi to bash the vault and steal some stuff... i bought that ares thing for 1000000 gold... most useless item...

She actually went Adol-chasing in Ys IV, which would've been when she was... 13 or 14? Maybe BARELY close to the age of consent in Japan, but also no-dice. They definitely pushed it with her. On the bright side, Adol is an honorable man! // I didn't like Aisha's attitude or her voice one bit, but I have a lot of respect for Mishera as not only an elder, but a blind one at that, and one with a thankfully good voice that doesn't grate on the ears.

I suspect Lilia's age was based on her appearance in II rather than her age at the time of Seven/AS. She looks more or less Adol's age when she first appears and why bother aging up the character for one cameo appearance? They can do that when she shows up again in a numbered Ys game.

KARNA Just realised "Karna" roughly means "to do" in Urdu. I think.

Yes, Karna is awesome. We need Oath in Celceta so a new generation of gamers can appreciate this fact. Especially if they include her Dawn of Ys 'character who's escorting you' ability. My favorite Ys female to date (if you couldn't guess...).

What?! Lilia is NINE in Ys II?! Ugh...

Nono, I'm pretty sure she was Adol's age in II. Remember, though, that Alternative Saga brought together many characters from different universes, and probably different times.
Also... HELL YES KARNA! If she was 10 years older, I'd... do something very lovely!

Oh, phew. Crisis averted. I was afraid I might have to find a new favorite Ys girl. Although I do have the fortune teller as backup.

Nah, don't worry, I hate Aisha too. I don't like Mishera either, for that matter. Not that I hate her, but she's so damn bland and dull that she's just kinda.... there. You could replace her with a magical key that performs her plot-related functions (IIRC she just lets you enter the wind sanctum) and nothing would feel even a tiny bit different (gameplay excluded, obviously). Don't agree with Aisha (I liked her a lot), but I can fully agree with Mishera. Other than being an eldress, I don't seem to remember her contributing much to the overall plot. Plus, I don't even think the game bothered to flesh her out any, unlike Aisha, Elk, and Mustafa/Cruxie.

I changed my mind, my favorite Ys girl is Dogi.

It seemed to me that she did want to be royalty to some extent. Rather, she wanted the positive aspects of it, but not the negative. She acts bratty whenever Dogi gives her a hard time, and I believe at one point she even says something along the lines of "how dare you talk like that to a pr-" but cuts herself off. Not those words exactly, but something like that. She's also very bossy, which is a pretty surefire way to make me dislike a character. I never noticed anything that made it seem like she wanted to not be spoiled. If anything, wanting all the advantages with none of the disadvantages, and acting selfishly (running away all the time) when she doesn't get her way makes her seem extremely spoiled, if anything. Yeah... really don't like her at all.

Well, I could argue back again, but there's no real reason to, is there? Suffice to say, I disagree with almost everything you said, especially the characteristics you used to describe her at the end. I'd rather just agree to disagree sooner than later.

Seems to me there are people on both sides of the spectrum, so I'd say you did fine. Maybe you're just fishing for compliments here, though. I'm just not an especially sympathetic person (and I'm a hardcore pessimist, which I bet you aren't), so I probably interpret her actions differently than you do.

Not really fishing for compliments -- just legitimately disappointed! But you're right, there ARE people on both sides, so it's probably just different interpretations. -Tom Well, you got a compliment anyway! That's a good thing, right?

I haven't been playing the US version of Seven at all lately... so I can't really comment on Aisha's personality. :/

Why can't she be bossy -and- free spirited? She is kind of both.
I'm personally just not a fan of the bratty in-your-face aura she gives off. Though, when I think about it, for a lot of the plot she acts more like she's along for the ride: watching and waiting, so maybe I'm wrong. I guess overall, she just sort of reminds me of Terra, who I don't like. It makes me want to put in the secret code that causes Adol to bicycle kick her.

I'm with HJ a hundred percent on this one. Aisha didn't annoy me as much as Terra (and I never even played Ys 5, she just annoyed me in Napishtim!), but she is way too bossy, bratty, and spoiled. If she didn't want the responsibility of royalty then she shouldn't act like such a goddamn deva. I'm all for noble arrogance (it's been joked that my ideal woman is Lady Macbeth), but the bratty aspect annoys the hell outta me.
As for the reason for her not to go on adventures: Noblesse Oblige. Responsibility isn't something one wants to do, it's an obligation that supercedes one's own desires. Those who actually want it usually aren't cut out for it (think Vagrant Story). Putting personal whims over an obligation to the ENTIRE KINGDOM is ridiculously selfish, and quite Tudory.

Honestly, I would have been happier if they just gave you Sigroon to use the entire time. I like everything about her better (voice, character design, personality, light-armor equip).

And Raison: I believe Aisha was acting for the good of the country by following Adol. Her motives were, in fact, to benefit all of Altago by personally getting to the bottom of the land's issues, and doing everything she could to actively put a stop to them. To me, defying her father and going with Adol was far more noble and honorable than staying in and looking pretty EVER would have been. This is entirely true. But Aisha left the palace at first because she was, well, bored and wanted an adventure not to discover anything, but to have a change in pace. Which isn't as flattering, and her first impressions kinda reflected that. Of course, had Aisha not changed at all during the game, she would've been as bad as Terra, for which I thank Nihon Falcom for doing what it did with her. ....can we see Ashley Riot and Adol C. team up someday.
