Do you have any more information on SSS.exe? It is possible to prevent its effects by disabling it via startup?
After all, there are a fair number of people who have installed this free version of Ys Origin and while I have mentioned the existence of SSS.exe, I haven't made a big fuss about it since it seemed relatively harmless. If it is dangerous or a nuisance, we should raise awareness of it.

I did a scan of all the install files before installing and all my hard drive files after installing and didn't find anything dangerous. If you do a full install, I believe you get a hidden update program that runs during startup (SSS.exe by Sourcenext, the file provider). You can disable this using MSCONFIG or something.

Yeah, you get spammed with sent mail from Groupon. I only figured that out after helping some people download the game. Luckily it gets sent straight to my spam inbox : P

Ouch, that's tough. I've been meaning to purchase Ys Origin for a while, but there are too many other games that I need to buy/play. Of course, if the game's free and there are no strings attached (that I can see) then...
Anyway, I managed to beat the first boss (I can't beleive they had *that* as the first boss, hated them in Ys 1) and I can't see any signs of the game being a trial version. I *think* the installer does check online before it installs Ys Origin, so presumably they made a mistake and forgot to prevent the installation from working.
From what I can read on the website, the game isn't meant to be installed from the 29th and onwards. I feel a tiny bit bad playing the game like this, but I hate the concept of one day offers X D

It seems Groupon had a special promotion on the 28th where new users can download Ys Origin for free. Unfortunately, I only saw the offer right as the 28th was ending in Japan, so I didn't bother downloading straightaway. However, somebody reported that that the game seems to still install fine after the 28th. Moments ago, I managed to download and install the game fine. I haven't played it beyond the title screen though and I'm not sure if it's just a trial version that ends after a set amount of time. I'll probably report back after messing around some more...

Oops, I meant Chronicles artwork in general. I messed up my sentence when I edited some words out of my previous post ^^;;;

Hopefully I'm not beating a dead horse, but was it not possible to edit the font graphics so that the brackets are drawn as quotation marks?
Anyway, my copy arrived from VGP and now I'm a happy European owner of TITS! Unfortunately, I'm busy with work so I've had to postpone any game playing this month ^^;;;
EDIT
Well, of course, I guess editing the graphics of the brackets will screw up other things that use brackets.

I really wish they didn't make the masked man's identity so obvious to people who know stuff about SC and 3rd. ;_; I'm a bit puzzled here. If you know stuff about SC and 3rd, it should be expected that you know stuff about FC since those games are sequels to it. Besides, it's not like you're getting spoiler'd by FC as... ...you learn next to nothing about him in FC. You're talking about Lorance right? EDIT Or did you play SC and the 3rd and not FC? : o

Don't think this is an April Fools, but you never know... Following on from Zero no Kiseki getting a PC version in Chinese-speaking territories, Ys SEVEN's PC version has finally been announced by Interwise. Apparently development is still in progress, although the first (alpha?) version of the game has been completed. The game is scheduled for release in "2011" (I'm assuming after Zero's "Summer 2011" release date. There's a single screenshot in the page that I linked to, although I don't think it shows off much (the resolution is bigger obviously, but it's zoomed out so it's hard to make out the image quality). I might try and hunt around for more screens later.

Is anybody in the process of obtaining the previous issue of Dengeki PS or know if clearer scans have been released?
I found some pretty interesting transcripts/translations from a reliable Chinese blog, but I don't know how legit they are.
This first note about Olivier should be, since I can almost read his caption.
This quote really interests me, but I don't know which page mentions it (seems to be from a short interview).

Oh yeah, I saw those images on your site. Although I wonder how many people would visit Dengeki normally.
I believe there's also a very brief image of Randy sort of kneeling down, holding onto his staff, which shows right before Tio and Elie. Actually, when I advance through the frames, it looks like he's getting hit by some kind of explosion...
That said, I don't really know much about Zero, so the trailer doesn't make much sense to me (although, judging from your response, I assume it's the same for everybody).

Ah, it was just supposed to be a teaser video, huh? I was expecting a trailer for some reason. Well, it looked pretty cool and the music sounded pretty nice. However it was really brief so I don't really know what to think.
Those screens of the guys on the floor flash by so fast, I doubt anybody could see them without really intense play and pause button spamming.

I noticed Interwise added a short interview about their experience with Zero no Kiseki recently. I might translate it later when I'm bored, but here's one question that I think is quite relevant to peoples' interests.
Q: Finally, can I ask what is Falcom's perspective on the PC version of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki?
A: Even though Falcom has already shifted thir development focus towards handheld and home consoles, but they have given us tremendous technical help towards the PC version of LoH:ZnK, almost everyday we meet together for technical discussions and consultations, providing us with technical support so that the PC version is completed smoothly.
(TN: Couldn't think of a better term for "meeting together", this means meeting in general, could be online or via letters, doesn't have to be person. In this context, it could be either way. Also, I'm pretty sure they specifically mention "home consoles", as in PS3, Wii, etc, in this answer, maybe they know more than us?)

Probably not what you're looking for, but wasn't there a cameo of SnK in Gurumin? One of the NPCs, I think the elderly woman who checks your mystery item bags, mentions a queen and a political strife.

BTW, Interwise pretty much confirmed that a Chinese PC version of Ys SEVEN is also in the works. If you followed the first post of this topic, you'll know that they posted a silhouette of Adol (Ys SEVEN version) and Ellie. As you can see here, the silhouette has finally been revealed, although the press release only makes mention of Zero no Kiseki. However, when asked by a fan about the lack of an Ys SEVEN announcement on Interwise's Facebook account, they said "We're doing Ys SEVEN as well, couldn't you tell who that red haired demon* was?". * not literally

PC version of Zero no Kiseki confirmed. Endless HistoryMy translation of the key points from the Sina article (Floofy, you can use this if you want). Beijing 欢乐百世 Technology Co.,Ltd has announced that it has already signed a contract with Nihon Falcom Corporation, netting it exclusive development rights for the Chinese PC version of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki in mainland China, Hong Kong special administrative region and the Taiwan region in China, as well as those regions' exclusive publishing rights for the Simplified Chinese PC version of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki, which is expected to be released during Summer 2011. [SKIP stuff about LoH sales and awards in Japan] After obtaining the rights, Beijing 欢乐百世 Technology Co.,Ltd began the PC version's development research process, with Nihon Falcom Corporation's technical support, focusing on rendering all the game's graphics in high definition, the game's graphic quality expected to surpass the previous PC versions of Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki, as well as adding support for mouse, keyboard, joypad and etc. Currently, the PC version of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki's high definition development research process has been completed, and now the anxious testing phase has begun. [SKIP stuff about opening a website and forum in the coming future and an introduction to Zero no Kiseki.] Interwise has also announced the news, which I'm looking through right now. Some images: 001 - 002 - 003EDIT Interwise's news release looks identical, except swap Simplified for Traditional. Can't wait to play the Traditional Chinese version in Summer : D

Those wallpapers are really badass, thanks.
I wanted to send in a message, but I couldn't tell if you had to have played the game to qualify (and I didn't want to make a fake message).

I generally go for PlayAsia or YesAsia for all my Falcom needs. Just be wary that some of the games are the Chinese version, if that matters (it will say somewhere on the product description, which is important if you need the Japanese version for an English patch or something). www.videogamesplus.ca/ also seems to be good for American copies of the games. None of my orders from there have shipped yet (all pre-orders, is this bad practice on my behalf?), so not sure how reliable it is, but I've heard good things about it.

That would be pretty badass. There's indeed a lot of Sora artwork around, but there's still a ton that's in small-medium resolution. Most notably stuff like soundtrack covers, those really limited postcards and etc.
Of course, it would be really cool if the official site had some of said artworks (that don't contain spoilers, naturally) *wink*
The comment about the poster not being finalised has made me curious as well. Is it actually going to be a different picture than advertised, is it going to be double sided or something? Or is it going to be a surprise? ^^
