I managed to do the 1st, 3rd and 4th quests. I collected all the answers for the 2nd, but couldn't figure out how to rearrange them >___<

Cool, I'll give it a try. Hopefully I'll finally be able to get that out-of-print game book that I've always wanted ^^

Does anybody know of any good sites that let you bid on items from Yahoo Japan Auctions? Or any experiences that people would like to share?
Throughout the years, there have been many items that have piqued my interest, but I can never find another place that sells them (most of the time since they're out of print or don't ship to the UK).

Today, I noticed Falcom added three IR documents at the usual place. I haven't looked through them all yet, but the second pdf contained something that caught my attention. Specifically the very last part. My Japanese knowledge is pretty crappy, but it seems to say Falcom is interested in pushing their PSP releases to the North American market in their aim to pursue wordwide profits. I'm betting they're mostly referring to the Sora no Kiseki trilogy and Ys 1 and 2 Chronicles, but perhaps Zwei!! and Brandish will also see English releases? Of course, confirmation from Japanese speakers would be appreciated ^^

The song listing at the bottom is just speculation, based on the style of the song, composition, instruments used and etc.

Thanks for the info ^^
Can you select which soundtrack you want in the PSP version? Like in Ys 1 and 2 Chronicles?

Whoa, what kind of beast did I unleash with his topic? X D I'm more or less finished with the Zwei II article so I thought I'd try my hand with the original Zwei!!. There is one thing I'm stuck with, and that's details about the re-releases. Is there anything special about the PS2 and PSP releases that I should note down? I remember the PSP version added face graphics during dialogue, but I'm not sure about anything else.

I collect foreign and commemorative coins. I don't have any that are really fancy and I don't care about their condition. I just collect them just 'cause : P
My favourite coin is a commemorative two pound coin issued on my year of birth.

Oops, I got Aplyes's name completely wrong before. Espina is easy enough to remember XD
Nice to know a HG article is being worked on. Somebody can also link to it from the Wikipedia article if needed.
In any case, I expanded the gameplay section a little. I'm not sure if I wrote too much. I wanted to include a few more details like the G Colloseum (sp?) and the museum, but I wasn't sure if they were relevant much. Maybe some of the stuff I wrote would suit better in the Zwei!! article (which is a little neglected).
A section on reception would be a great idea, but you're right that it's difficult to find anything. I don't know of many PC game review sites or magazines, in Japanese as well XD
I'll see what I can do anyway.

It was kind of bothering me that Zwei 2 didn't have an entry in Wikipedia so I thought I'd correct it. Does anyone have any suggestions, such as what to add (besides more characters)? Are there any existing Falcom Wikipedia articles that I should look at for inspiration? Oh yeah, and how do you spell the Light Goddess's name? o__o Also, do you reckon anybody will care? Maybe we'd be better off with a hardcore gaming article or something... Which reminds me, there still isn't a Ys Seven article up either D:

If it doesn't kill my eyes, I might change to the Hallowin... I mean Halloween Zwei 2 wallpaper. For now, I'm using this

Aww, I didn't get to submit my answer in time. Did anyone else do this quest or know where to find the commemorative wallpaper?
I've submitted my answer for the third quest, but I'm not completely sure I got it right.
The answer I tried was:
アドル兄ちゃんと / 釣りに / 船で / 行ってきます
Does that sound correct to anyone? ^^
I think its a response to where Elk went, in a message he gave to Tia (which somehow ended up getting ripped up by Maya?).

Ahh, I really didn't think to look there. Thanks for the pointer.
Although I did hover over the games before, but didn't notice anything. I suspect I was probably viewing the cached flash files >___<
The letters for the last three weeks were:

Is anybody here trying to solve the quest (halfway down the page) where you have to search for Geis's three fairy friends and collect each letter they hold to figure out the secret keyword? Or is there anybody who has a decent knowledge of Japanese and would like to help me? I've found five of them over this past month, but I can't seem to find Sera (the last one) this week. If anybody wants to know the letters I've collected, I can post them (is there a spoiler tag here?). I managed to beat the quest last month, but this one is a bit trickier, since it appears you need to rearrange the letters yourself(?).

Actually, just ignore what I said. The page finally loaded for me. Well, a couple of images still won't load - the only one of those that I haven't got is the 1st Ys 5 wallpaper from the 20th anniversary site.
You wouldn't mind if I added the ones that I don't have to my own directory would you? ^^
I think a lot of the wallpapers are a tad busy as well. I only really use the more plain-looking ones, while I "drool" (for lack of a better word) over the fancier ones.

MP83, do you think you could upload your wallpapers on somewhere that isn't Imageshack? Imageshack and I don't seem to get along, with its slow loading, unresponsiveness, broken images and pop-up adds ^^;;;

Haha, I actually stumbled upon that site earlier. It's pretty cool, although I didn't expect to see those naked models X D
I was hoping to get something a bit larger, perhaps screen-filling. I suppose I could use that image as a last resort though.
In any case, my (crappy) translation senses are tingling so I thought I'd help translate the configuration menu. Unfortunately I realised I don't have much knowledge about computers and I fail at looking up Kanji >___<

I didn't realise at first, but another reason I wasn't so wowed by Melchizedek's theme is because it's also a remix of Prayer to Espina (which I really like admittedly). Also, I experienced tons of lag in that stage, which I didn't have in Moonbria (but that's kind of my fault). It's still a good song though.
I kind of felt the same with Luna Mundus, except that song is really starting to grow on me. Again, I blame the lag and perhaps it's unfair to keep comparing the songs to Serpentina. While I'm on the subject of music, the song that plays in the epilogue "Irreplaceable Days" really gives me the shivers. It really reminds me of something, but I can't quite figure it out.
Haha, I didn't realise Alwen was part of such a stereotype. I figured "vampire" was enough of one. That scene made me lol as well, especially when she seemed so serious about it.
Which reminds me, I was kind of hoping that the bromides would be expanded on in this game. They seemed pretty redundant in the original, especially when they were so (relatively) hard to obtain. I wonder if they do anything else in the PSP version (although I'm doubtful)? I am glad they improved the CD items (I think they did?) though.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask (and this is might seem kind of odd/random), but could I request some clear in-game screenshots of Fiona? Preferably in her regular clothes. (Since my PC doesn't seem to load the game without being set to the lowest graphics setting.) I was thinking of using them for an avatar/signture on another forum that I frequent.

Just finished the game a few days ago. The whole game was so great I almost wanted to cry while playing it. Well, I might be exaggerating a little, but yeah the game was awesome : D
*** IMPRESSIONS BELOW, MAY (I.E WILL) CONTAIN SPOILERS ***
I think it was already mentioned, but man Zwei 2 really did improve over Zwei 1 and then some.
The most important part about a game is probably the gameplay and I found Zwei 2's gameplay really good. Ragna's Anchor Gear is freaking cool and makes more sense attacking than Pockle's rush forward and fly back attacks in the original. The lock-on system kind of made the game a bit easy, but difficulty never really bothers me (unless the game is ridiculously hard to beat), and it does make fighting multiple enemies a bit hard. However I think it was a nice touch all the same.
I can't really comment about the dungeon design. I thought it was pretty okay, but I kind of had the impression that Zwei 1 did them better. I did like the fire dungeon in this game, which I couldn't say the same about Zwei 1 though. Also it was a shame they didn't shift between dungeons more often- the only time you did that was between Golden Dark Forest and Aurore Steel Tower I think. There's only really the random(?) dungeons to return to afterwards.
Speaking of which, the random dungeons were on the easy side, and the random dungeon bosses as well, but then again I remember ripping my hair out in frustration when challenging Zwei 1's (Argh, I could never beat the final boss of the wind random dungeon!).
Anything else to mention? Oh yeah, the Blade Gear is broken. In a good way : P
Next, the storyline... The plot itself probably isn't much to write about, but it's pretty rare to find a great plot in RPGs these days. However I really liked the execution as well as the dialogue and characterisation.
Alwen was pretty cool, which isn't something I'd usually associate with your usual RPG heroines. She's amusing and not annoying at all. Which reminds me, Pipiro is so rude and annoying that she's actually likable (IMO anyway). The Subaru sequence was just plain win and I really felt for Ragna when he first discovered Exmachina was his sister (the villains are right meanies).
I also didn't expect Ragna to reunite with his sister in the end. They kind of foreshadowed that he would succeed, but it just seemed so unlikely, especially with Mia running away all the time and all those "megatons" about her past. I liked how Alwen saw through her plans towards the very end as well- you could probably guess her intention yourself, but it seemed unusual for a character in the game to do so X D
However, I don't think they really explained properly why Lucian revived at the very end. I guess it just happened when everything went out of control. That was probably the only slightly corny moment in the game- since it seemed like an excuse to make you fight a Demon Lord.
I'm probably over-rambling, but since I'm here... It might just be me, but I don't think Fiona and Claude did enough in the storyline. I suppose Pockle and Pipiro didn't either, but they already had their own game! I like how Claude is one of those sort-of-typical elegant gentleman-like person who is actually an expert martial artist. Anyway, I don't suppose those two are important enough to return in the next game, although I suppose the Valence family is a pretty key figure in the world, so you never know.
Last, but not least, the music was incredible as usual. Some favourites that come to mind are the major boss theme, the nighttime song, Aurore steel tower, the second-to-last boss theme. There's probably tons more when I find the time to remember (and listen to the soundtrack). The only disappointing thing was perhaps that there wasn't an epic track on the scale of Serpentina in the previous game. Although I suppose they made up for it by including Serpentina as a CD item. Also the opening theme was probably remixed a few too many times, but it is a classic I suppose ^^
Wow, that was kind of long...
*** END SPOILERS ***
Anyway, I'll probably replay the game once I get my good PC fixed. I could get the game to play on my crappy PC, but even on the lowest graphics setting there was a ton of lag. Not that it really bothered me, but now I want to play it with proper graphics and framerate haha.
