Well, this is still great news, even if the translation is horrid, but hopefully it won't be!

Well, if Europe gets it, & the US doesn't, there should be an option for english, so, that's good enough for me to buy!

I finally watched it, & I agree, that there's nothing in that demo that the DS can't do. I haven't seen the video's for Meteos or Metroid, but, just with the few games I have, I don't see why the DS couldn't handle all of that

The Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow intro shocked me. I thought it was very well done. It seems likely (I hope) this is at least part of the opening for this game, maybe? This is the exact same thing I was going to say! Plus, the music is great in DoS! The DS has surprised me to say the least! Has anyone seen the cinemas for the new Seiken Densetsu for DS? Cuz I haven't, but, I've heard there's quite a bit of animatiion.

All I can say is maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. I want to have some positive attitude about this, it is Ys after all, Ys games don't suck, so far.

Well, it's a prequal no doubt, & all I can assume is that it maybe answer's some questions about certain nations, & where Adol came from. Might even have more background info on the Eldeenian's.

Here's some info from Gamespot, some of it I believe has already been noted, but there's new info in there as well: "Ys Strategy for the Nintendo DS was first announced last month, but details on it were scarce. Thankfully, the latest issue of Famitsu sheds a little more light on Marvelous Interactive's new departure for the venerable series of role-playing games. As the name suggests, Ys Strategy strays from the series' action role-playing game roots in favor of a focus on real-time strategy. The storyline also deviates from the series' past formula. This time around, players won't be taking on a diabolical enemy as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Instead they'll be thrown in the midst of a major war between the nations of Ys. The series' main character Adol might sit this one out as well, as players will take control of Abel Lenford, a mercenary swordsman in the employ of one of the warring nations. However, Abel suffers from amnesia, and similarities in name, costume, and trademark red hair suggest there will be some connection between the two. Ys Strategy uses the DS's top screen to display an overview map and a menu of the player's remaining resources. The bottom map is used for the main game screen, where the player issues commands to units on the field with the stylus. Some old-time Ys fans might not be used to RTS games, so the developer is including tutorials and advice functions to lower the learning curve for strategy game novices. The touch screen and stylus aren't the only DS features that Ys Strategy makes use of. In addition to allowing local wireless multiplayer matches, the game also supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi service. Ys Strategy is slated for release in Japan during spring of 2006 by Marvelous Interactive." www.gamespot.com/news/6136705.html

Colin was deffinitly Dogi, that's pretty well known. It's not because in Ys 2, 3, & 4 of the games, he breaks thru walls(haven't played thru 5 or 6 yet). It's not because he looks exactly like Dogi in the other games. It's not because there is no Colin in the Ys Anime's, but there is a Dogi in them. It's mainly because he's called Dogi in the Japanese version. If you get the PC Engine version, he is called Dogi. In Ys 4, him & Adol return to Esteria(which happens before Ys 3) & hang out with Goban, there is no Colin there. Then in 3, they go to Dogi's homeland. Let's just think of Colin as his middle name.

looked awesome until the actual gameplay footage W T F ? Exactly. If it did ever get an english release, I still doubt I'd play it. For one thing, most MMORPG's cost monthly money, & that right there pisses me off.

Nah, that doesn't cover everything. I want something that lists everything in the games, in alphabetical order, & explains what they are, more like this:
Black Pearl-An Emel stone created by Eldeenians. One such stone was used in the land of Ys. However, because of the humans greed, it was misused, & almost destroyed Ys itself.
Demons/monsters-In Ys 1 & 2, they were formally humans. They however became greedy for the power of the Black Pearl, & became mishaped, & mutated in groteque monsters.
Eldeenians-A highly advanced technologically superior race of humanoid beings with wings. Blah blah blah

I know, but when I say accurate, I mean up until this point. Like what emelas is, what Galbalan's are, whatever info we have on the Eldeenian's, etc.

Well, no time like the present to start back up on it I think the main reason I thought about it, is because I have a friend, who's interested in the series, & there are several things I want to explain to him, but, I want the most accurate info possible

Has anyone done some kind of info page, describing all the various content of all Ys games? Like, what Emelas is, where do Galbalan's come from, etc? If someone has, I'd love to read it, if someone hasn't, I'd love someone knowledgable enough, to put it together. I would really love to see explanations of everything written down.

Hmm, they're beatable in Japanese, especially 3, which, I originally beat in Japanese, before the US version came out. Personally, I love the Turbo version, especially the music! But, the best version of Ys 3 is deffinitly Oath in Felghana

After being wowed by YsF, I'll certainly have no misgivings about dumping my money into another import of Ys for PC, even if it's another remake (of, say, Ys IV~?). I'm kind of a fan of remakes anyway, provided they're well-done. (Lunar series comes to mind... loved the original SegaCD games, and I was thrilled with their PS reimaginings ^.^) Plus, any opportunity to play Ys IV without having to jump through great hoops to buy something LONG out of print would make me a happy little girl. Ditto! Er, except, change the little girl part in my case
