Yeah, it's a really poor implementation. Especially considering that the same sword animation actually IS in the X68000 version, but it's a "bring out the sword" animation, followed by the "sheath the sword" animation. Because you bring out the sword, then you hold the button in and just ram into your enemies to kill them, and when you let go of the button, you put the sword away. It's just for looks, and not actually made for hitting things. That's why it's so short (kind of like Adol's TINY sword in Ys 4 - it's just for looks, you don't actually use it). Kemco COMPLETELY misunderstood this, and made that the actual fighting process, which is why it is so terrible.

So practically only WE know that it was a Ys rip-off and nobody else cares about it. Kinda like Tear Ring Saga (wanna play ) where its practically fire emblem except its for the ps, yet it was made from the creator of FE.(Nintendo tried to sue them but failed cause they had no evidence and cause they were winy wusses cause there not happy with their other video game series .)

I want that game super bad, and there is a translation patch in the works for it. The soundtrack for the game is really good too. Thanks for the reminder!

I thought it would happen on the VC but Nintendo is not very interested. It sucks because a ROM is so cheap to sell. It costs nothing to distribute and its so easy to work with. I would rather that game then Yoshi's Cookie.

Well I don't thinks it will happen for the VC but I think it will happen for the DS cause the up and coming fire emblem games stars Marth which means only one thing....Remake. I think nintendo is remaking old fire emblem games for the ds like FF did with advance.

Man they have a long way to go. I dont think all of them will get remade because the DS has 2 more years tops. The gba was 4 years and thats it.

Maybe the game is a collection of sort. Theres always the Wii and future nintendo systems. don't be so negative , they've sold GBA games even when the ds and wii was out.

The Suikoden series. Though they get praise from people who really love them, they are ignored or misunderstood by the public at large. Are they really? I've been a huge fan of this series and actually I know quite a lot of people who are as obsessed with them as I am. (Ofcourse then... yeah... there are always a couple who go 'Eh? Suikoden??' (But, 90% of the people go 'Eh??' at everything!' ) Anyways, I thought who ever did play them loved them?? Yeah, Suiko VI was hated though, wasn't it? (I still loved it! )

No way, it's one of the more popular rpg series, definitely not underrated. In fact, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it. I've personally never played any of them (except 4, which seemed really poor so I immediately traded it for some Game Gear games).
Now Game Gear, that's an underrated system. It's got so many damn good games, and the sound that comes out of it... marvelous!

I've played the first one for the PS1 and Wasn't impressed,(too many characters, like around 100 supposable can't remember I was 11 or 12 ) and was kinda boring, but I liked Vandal Hearts which came out around the time and their seconds sequels were impossible to find so they didn't grow on me. The PS2 Suikodens reminded me too much of Xenosaga which too was boring and was nothing like the fast past battles of Xenogears. Its not necessarily the games fault but the battles in the games are too slow and unimpressive. Thats why I only like games like Ogre battle,FF,FE,Xenogears,Ys,KH, etc cause even though the battles could be slow at times at least you get to see badasses killing each other.(MegamanX command mission was slow as hell also with unimpressive battle sequences, bad move for the X series.)

Argh... and that's what one gets for typing when half dead and not spellchecking! Sorry, I meant IV! Even though I get terribly excited over every new Suikoden and am so biased that I usually just gloss over all its faults - the stories being so amazing that everything is worth it - IV bored even me! Endless hours and hours of drudging over vast unending oceans with never ending repetitive battles! D: (Rhapsodia was its only saving grace! [But then I love tactics/strategy rpgs!]) I liked Vandal Hearts! Though yip, it was next to impossible to find.

Oh yeah, I remember now. Back when Suikoden 1 came out, it got some seriously poor reviews, calling it a typical generic rpg with nothing new or interesting to offer. Plus, nobody bought it. Then, ten (or maybe five) years after its release, it's suddenly awesome and a must-play. But since nobody bought it back when it came out, it's now super rare and people are paying crazy amounts of money to get it. How come it got so popular all of a sudden? I've never even seen the game in action, so I can't comment on it being good and/or bad or anything. Aaah, the desperate. How I don't envy them. There's no way I would pay 100 dollars (or more) for an old game, not even a great one like Chrono Trigger. Downloading is the way to go in these cases!

XD Back when I got my hands on the original, II wasn't available anywhere. (It was just newly released then.) So I went of into desperate fits, and when I finally got my hands on it, I think the amount I paid back then would round up to almost...100$? Well a bit less (5000 Rs, to be exact). Anyways, I was ripped off but I was happy. Still am actually! Especially hearing that one of the few originals I do own is a rare piece! The Suikoden games are nice, but if you don't like repetitious turn-based battles, hunting down everyone of those 108 stars (some of which have their schedules and run away if you take too long!), and mass army battles well... its not worth it. The story is its main attraction. (and the stars...)

So glad I bought the SNES Chrono Trigger for dirt cheap from an old friend. Of course, I have the PSX version aswell, which makes the SNES version obsolette. Especially since I can just put it on my PSP and make it load crazy fast and get all those extras! Woo!

What? Are you insane? The PS1 version of Chrono Trigger is barely playable! Awful, AWFUL port!

Barely playable? Like I said, the PSP gives it a speed boost; not to mention my PS1 and PS2 work pretty damn good. I may be a tad insane though -- that is, insanely patient. Only with certain things, though, such as slowdown, etc. -- PSP Ys is no exception; my first playthroughs were without any homebrew firmware and I didn't have a 1 GB memory stick at the time, so I stuck with the UMD. Back on the topic of Chrono Trigger; I've gotten quite a few of the endings. Not sure how many there are, (it's been too long since I've last touched the game) but I believe I unlocked most of them. A game has to be damn good for me to endure load times or crappy frame rates. (I almost said fps -- which in this case wouldn't mean first person shooters. That needs a new abbreviation!)

I cannot play it at all, battles are supposed to start instantly, the game is not supposed to just stop as soon as an enemy pops up (it looks like the game has crashed!). And when you win the fight, it's not supposed to stop (crash?) there either, it should go back to the gameplay action immediately. And, when going to a new area, it's supposed to show up immediately as well. I almost smashed my (brand new) PS1 to bits when trying to play Chrono Trigger. After that I really considered buying the SNES version, but I bought a flash cartridge and downloaded a ROM of it instead. I'm glad I did, because I really don't want to have any ugly SNES games collecting dust and wasting my space. A single flash cartridge is more than enough. Edit: Okay, now I know why Chrono Trigger (and FFVI) sucks so much for PS1... Tose ported those games. Tose is actually a game developing school, and the games are made by the students there... They're an undercover thing too, as they almost never get credit for their work. Which is surprising, considering their games generally suck... so why would Square, in this case, want to take the credit for something as awful as Chrono Trigger for PS1? Insanity.

It all boils down to patience. I have no patience when it comes to Final Fantasy 6, though; (That means ALL incarnations of FF6!) once I get to the world of ruin, I call it quits every time. Too many sidequests, too much running around to find everyone that flew all over the Earth from a single floating continent (Don't ask me how THAT happened; it makes no sense as far as I'm concerned! I mean, if you fall from an airplane in say... Arizona, your dead corpse WON'T be found in China!) and too many stupid "let's split into groups!" missions. I freakin HATE those, because the battle rate is too damn high in the dungeons -- so you easily lose track of where you were headed in the first place! Not to mention having to level up EVERYONE just for those stinking missions! So... I love the first half, HATE the second. It's just flat-out annoying!

How much patience do I have? Well, I played FFVI 30 minutes, then I got to the world map and had no clue what to do or where to go, so I deleted the ROM and I will NEVER try it again.
