Now I feel glad I got Crono Trigger and Dracula X for the Sness when they were on sale at a major video store(blockbuster). How can you not like FF6, that was the best FF of the series? how can you finish Brandish, that games hard and confusing Like dragon slayer 4?(good game, at least I tried )

Have you played the ff PS1 ports and then played the advance ports. You'll see a huge difference.

I played the Advance ports, but I still prefer the PS1 ports -- something about how the Gameboy Player handles fullscreen just doesn't sit well with me -- if I'm going to play a game fullscreen, you can bet your bottom dollar I'm playing it fullscreen WITHOUT borders. Hopefully, when they officially (not homebrew, in other words) emulate handhelds on the Wii, fullscreen (without borders) will be possible.

You got the patience for Brandish games, though. What's that supposed to mean? No patience is required for Brandish!

What's that supposed to mean? No patience is required for Brandish! True. Unless you don't understand Japanese at all and there is no walkthrough/translation to help you. That happened to me when I played Brandish 4. BTW, I just found out that Brandish 4 was translated in Korean. I am about to cry...

Oh you're right, that really sucks.
Well, only Brandish VT got released in Korean, and for DOS to boot. So you can at least feel good that you got to play the better version of it. Mantra (the porters of it) aren't famous for making a quality product. I haven't tried the Korean version much, but it's probably very hard to get it running flawlessly, if it's even possible.

I would start the Brandish series, but didn't see any point since all the sequels aren't translated . But I did play the snes one and got pretty far until I got lost and felt like I missed out a crap load of Treasures in the first dungeon area and can't kill the hard monsters and gave up . Sometimes I love dungeon crawlers .(Hairs on back of neck rising)

But there's almost no dialogue in these games, and as long as you've played Brandish 1 in English, the sequels should be very easy, as they all have the same menu systems, etc.

I am going out on a limb here by stating this...
I truly loved Final Fantasy X2.
There I said it and I can get on with my life.

As I've said many a time, FFX2 was superior to FFX in just about ever way that matters.
Mind you FFX was the nadir of the series, so this isn't say much. But FFX2 wasn't bad.

I loved FFX big time. The soundtrack is right up there with FF7. I think the biggest plus was getting the super ninja ending, so you see what happens with Tidus. It added some closure to the first game, but the impact would have been a bit milder if the first game wasn't so good. My only complaint is the end boss was super easy from what I remember.

P.S. I'm playing Brandish for Snes. PS: You're playing the best ANYTHING ever. Yes, that is correct. Not only is Brandish the best game ever, but it is also better than everything else. It is better than rocks. It is better than spaghetti. It is better than wheelchairs. Brandish > the universe

I disagree with Justin pretty thoroughly. Part of what made FFX-2 good was that FFX was so horribly disappointing. They made a sizable and interesting world, and...pretty much ignored it for chasing a pretty boring monster. The stuff with the truth about Zanarkand was kinda spiffy, but it was too little, too late. FFX-2 won just by showing up who Tidus was based off of.
Someday, I'll play Brandish.

Dude thats the exact same story premise in FFX2... you chase spheres in the hopes you will find the whereabouts of Tidus. Its completely mission based and you can only explore areas of interest from your airship, exactly like the previous installment. While I agree some of the detail was ignored, its to be expected in such linear game.
Honestly I am surprised that there is quite a few people who enjoyed this game. I should have posted more when I was playing it. Has anyone seen the special edition DVD that came out in europe?

Is there really one? I know someone who has FFX-2 and I don't think I saw a special dvd in there. I have a special dvd for FFX though but I have never watched it, and I never will.

I suppose that summary makes sense, but only if you strip down the games to the point that you can compare them to anything. The big difference is that FFX-2 actually involves you in the world. You have to get involved with the events of the time. In FFX, you pretty much ignore them and move on to the next area. Hell, the only thing you really even have a role in is dealing with the uprising in the church, and that's only because they're trying to interfere with the pilgrimage.
So yeah, they're only the same if you oversimplify.
