I bet a thread like this exists somewhere on this forum and probably has 238746 pages too.
Anyway!
I'm currently playing Castlevania: Curse of Darkness and will probably pop in Portrait of Ruin into my DS Lite within the next few hours. I'm trying not to cuz I'm pretty sure PoR will take me away from CoD. :P

Kinda a preview of what will be going into the "recently finished games" thread? Anyway, I'll bite. I am partway into Xenosaga (1), but got derailed a couple months ago. I'm working on Guitar Hero II on medium and Shadow of the Colossus on hard (most of the way through), and soon to start Kingdom Hearts II. However, at the moment, Okami is consuming all of my gaming time. I have not played any of the Castlevania games ( ), and, as far as gaming platforms go, I only have a PS2. If I were to try out the series (no promises, I already have quite enough to play ), which one should I look at? Keep in mind I know nothing of the plots.

If you have a PS2, I highly suggest you get Symphony of the Night. Immediately! This is the best Castlevania game ever, no contest. The rest is kinda... meh. Some decent games but compared to SOTN, they're garbage. SOTN is all you'll ever need, you won't miss out on anything. Anyway, I'm currently re-re-re-re-re-re-playing Ys IV PCE and Ys VI PSP due to lack of other games to play. I just finished Zelda TP and now everything is just so bland in comparasion, that game was soo good. Oh, but this is not that thread. Yeah, anyway. Ys IV and Ys VI rules so it's all good! Tomorrow I might get a new SNES and with it I'll play Ys IV as soon as the new patch gets released.

Zelda TP, I've been taking it VERY slowly (just finished the sixth dungeon) because I want to savor every incredible moment of it.
I just bought Phoenix Wright 2, and I'm on the third case. While it's good, I enjoyed the first game much more (mostly because I see no reason for the Psyche-locks, and I absolutely cannot stand von Karma.
Ys-wise, I'm making my way through Ys IV DoY, with my newly bought YsF sitting next to me ready to play once a patch comes out.
And, as always, I'm playing WoW as well. Got Burning Crusade, but haven't really taken advantage of it yet (I'm set on leveling my rogue, instead of playing my 60 lock or warrior or making a BE).

Not much, mainly because I'm supposed to be studying for the exams I've got on Tuesday and the Monday after, so ever since I finished Ys it's been mostly smallish games I can pick up for a few hours then come off just as easily. So, it's mostly been a mix of Touhou 8 (also known as 'do you have enough concentration to dodge pretty patterns?') and Pokemon Diamond (no, I'm not ashamed). Gonna start La Pucelle once the exams are over - I've played every NIS game except that one, somehow. Think I need to get round to buying one of the Phoenix Wright games too - apparently the last case on 2 is really good by the way, Tuca. May as well get some use out of my DS Lite beyond Pokemon >_>

Pokemon Diamond's not available in English yet, right?

Pokemon Diamond's not available in English yet, right? Nope, April 22nd for the US version. Dunno when the European one's out but it's not that hard to import anyway.

"Barrel!!" If this makes sense to you, then you know exactly what game I'm sorta-kinda playing. (Sorta-kinda because I started it last month and erm, haven't gotten back to it.) Beyond that, a bevy of half-finished games I may never get back to. And re-playing Origin. A lot.

I have a huge stack of RPGs I may never get to, but for now it's Ys Origin, FF XII, and ED VI SC. There's Summon Night, which I only just started, but looks promising.

Smart man. First or second? I couldn't really get into the first one - great music but there wasn't anything particularly gripping about it so I gave up. The second one's a lot better - I haven't finished that yet either (mainly because I dropped it for Origin and when I went back on afterwards couldn't remember where the hell I was), but I'm pretty near the end. It's a lot better in just about every way (though the music's not quite as good)

Oh I forgot. I started on Wild Arms again (also a game I'm re-re-re-playing) yesterday. This time on my PSP. I listened to the game's soundtrack and that got me so inspired that I had to start playing it. Man, that game's awesome. Especially on the PSP since the graphics are much nicer on that little screen. The 3d battles aren't so bad-looking anymore! I think Wild Arms may have one of my favorite modern game soundtracks. It is just so incredible, almost every song is great!

Smart man. First or second? First one. I have both, but I wanted to play them in order. I'm enjoying the first one quite a lot. It's pretty goofy, but there IS a bit of story in there, and the gameplay is decent. I'm just hoping NIS will localize Grand Fantasm, because that game looks LOVELY. XD

Some decent games but compared to SOTN, they're garbage. SOTN is all you'll ever need, you won't miss out on anything. OVERRATED. XD XD XD It's the FFVI of the Castlevania series. I played that till the end but stopped before the final boss cuz I got distracted with other games. :P "Barrel!!" If this makes sense to you, then you know exactly what game I'm sorta-kinda playing. ;D (Sorta-kinda because I started it last month and erm, haven't gotten back to it.) I used to switch between the languages and characters while having them examine barrels. XD I love Uru to bits! He is so cute. ^_____^ His voice kind of gets scary once he becomes the beefy fire elemental though. D: I didn't really like Atelier Iris that much since you spend way too much time getting the materials for creating stuff. :P

I did spend a fair bit of time swapping between languages at first, but eventually I just got lazy and stuck to English. The material gathering doesn't bug me TOO much. I did have fun with the shop synthesis though. XD The constant bickering with her and Lita made me snicker.

Yeah that's another thing that gets brought down in the second one. Once you've made an item once (which isn't hard) it's just a case of extracting elements (which is easy) and making it out of them while walking so you don't have to spend much time finding ingredients at all.
I really should finish it sometime. Grand Fantasm does look pretty fancy though, and they're bound to bring it out eventually - so far all NISA have really got confirmed for this year is Ar Tonelico in February and Soul Cradle in... god knows when. They could fit Grand Fantasm in surely.

If you have a PS2, I highly suggest you get Symphony of the Night. Immediately! I'd rather just get the Xbox 360 port of it, since it's supposed to be the Saturn version after all. XD Well, not really. I still have my PSX copy so I don't know if I should get it or not. But the Saturn version has extra stuff in it. =\ I've been playing a lot of Senko no Ronde again. I shoud've been doing that over winter break and not when school started though, as it's been cutting into my time a lot.

I think Wild Arms may have one of my favorite modern game soundtracks. It is just so incredible, almost every song is great! Too bad not every track was on the actual OST though. :/ I wonder if the other Wild Arms games had that same kind treatment? ._.~ But yes, the WA OST is nice. I really like the Alter Code F OST as well too. I own non-Jolly Roger versions of both. :D

Aw, Deuce beat me to it on the Saturn thingy. I hope they fix these major problems, since they render the game practically unplayable. The FPS rate is constantly way too low (even when there's nothing on screen), making it a true chore to play. I love playing as Maria, though. Triple-jumping is fun!About the WA OST, yes. I too was disappointed that they didn't include all the songs on it. The Alter Code F soundtrack is nice too, but I don't like some of the changes they made to the original WA1 music. Ha ha, non-Jolly Roger versions.
