Of course not. Lightning and Fang's hotness combined with Sahz's everyman-ness and fro powers could not save the original

I liked KH just because at the time it came out, there were a bunch of angsting heroes in RPGs and KH I & II were sickeningly innocent and cheerful. Also stupidly silly
Something hit me while discussing FFXIII-2 with a friend. FFXIII never got an International release in Japan, did it? FFX & XII got major reworkings in their International rereleases but nothing for FFXIII. So if FFXIII-2 tries to fix the original with new content, that's a step in the right direction IMO. Also my friend and I agreed in the end the only thing we both liked about FFXIII were the characters, but we didn't even like how the story developed them
Also the only FFXIII-2 related pic I've seen so far is Lightning in what appears to be a one-piece swimsuit with armor on top. Me likey <_<

I currently have the Rocket Knight demo, Banjo-Tooie full, and Earthworm Jim HD full. I know I tried more demos but they stopped working while I was offline -- I believe that includes "I MAED A GAEM WITH ZOMBIES IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!1111111" or something, and that one by Yuzo Koshiro?? They just complained that I wasn't signed in to XBL. Nooo! They wouldn't let you run Protect Me Knight offline? That's one of Indie Games' best offerings. If you have a co-op partner, I'd recommend getting Earth Defense Force 2019 from Games On Demand. It's a stupidly fun first person shooter that has local multiplayer. The game is far better with 2 players than 1 I'd recommend Rez just for the music. I'd warn against the TMNT Turtles in Time remake. First and foremost they removed all the original music ;A; The port of TMNT the Arcade Game is okay solo, but if you start playing with other friends, the game starts getting laggy inputs even when playing locally! If you like Konami shooters (Gradius, Parodius) then check out R-Type Dimensions, an HD remake of R-Type I & II. Also I always recommend Ikaruga HD for the art style and music. I know your bandwidth is limited, but one of the greatest features of the PS3/360 is the ability to download demos to try out games

As an aside, I want Scott Pilgrim and Rocket Knight. Any other XBLA games I should consider?! I don't want any Indie games, though, seeing as allegedly, none of those can be played offline... and you see, I have to worry about going over the threshold. (Which means now that I finally have WiFi, I'm avoiding YouTube videos.) I won't warn you away from Scott Pilgrim. I didn't like the game. Bad game design even managed to get a friend, who has high tolerance for games I don't like, to swear. But other people have enjoyed it But Rocket Knight is a bunch of blah. If you want platforming adventure, I'd sooner suggest Comic Jumper (that game has the most amazing uses of live-action FMV.. I think ever) I'm also gonna test that Indie game thing 'cause you're missing out on a lot of interesting and cheap titles without them

You weren't the only one. You'll hear me constantly saying how I wish I had bought and played Resonance of Fate instead of the time I put into FFXIII. And if I could add my Star Ocean 4 time to that as well, it'd be solid. I really wanted to like FFXIII. I liked the art, I liked the attempt at revolutionizing combat (shame it ended up being such a dumbed down system), I liked the characters at the start... though none of them developed in a compelling way and I gave up when they were all questioning what they were supposed to be doing ps - agreed on Lightning and Fang. My favorite part of the FFXIII-2 announcment was seeing Lightning in a more traditional fantasy outfit

(no really HJ summed up the same way I felt after playing the game. And prolly put it into words better than I would have)

I still haven't finished Popful Mail and I still own a Sega CD and a physical copy. <_< I haven't quite branched out into other Falcomery yet, but as Rhyanna has alluded to a few times, I'm mildly phobic of playing a game that has a plot that I don't understand while I'm playing. ^^; I'm a little more adventurous. I've played Ys Origin (too many times), Legend of Xanadu, Xanadu Next, and Ys vs Sora no Kiseki without being able to completely understand the story.. but I've refused to touch Sora no Kiseki so far until I can fully understand it. I guess I'll hold back when I really want to know the story and it is important to me

I love Castlevania too, but I'm really bad at the older ones. I try them, but I never get very far. Any recommendations on which one is best for practicing on...? Super Castlevania IV is the easiest Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth has good difficulty options that allow you to slowly ramp up the challenge as you get better (and tons of hidden paths so it's fun for several playthroughs) Castlevania Chronicles on remix mode is moderately difficult. But the original X68k version is on par with the original game (slightly easier though) Dracula X Chronicles for PSP is easier than the TCD version IMO. But TCD Rondo of Blood (also available for Wii Virtual Console!.. or as an unlock for the PSP version) with Maria is pretty easy due to how lenient the controls are. She doesn't take many hits though CV 1 & 3 are just classic hard

The first one has more backtracking and running around talking to visitors than all the Ys games combined. If you're not absolutely fluent in order to understand what you're supposed to do next, then you're bound to get lost. And for me I got a bit bored since I couldn't fully understand what was being said

I've had that site bookmarked since before Felghana PC was translated. It's a fun little reference especially for which villagers give you the special food items
Only thing I never tried out was the one that lets Adol sleep in other people's beds

God, I can't believe they announced a SEQUEL to FFXIII today. Why is such a bad game getting a sequel? A lot of people bought it anyhow before everyone decided it was bad If Versus is an action RPG in the vein of Kingdom Hearts (with fps view and vehicles apparently) that already makes it a better video game than XIII. But I'd sooner wait until it is actually out

It was the N64 attempt at a Metal Gear Solid-type game also one of the first uses of 3rd person cover-based combat. More importantly it features versus multiplayer. Combat rolling for everyone!

Pretty much. It's not that I couldn't understand the systems in the game. It's that in the end I found myself asking why I was even bothering. It seemed more complicated than it was worth.. kinda like combat in Xenosaga ep.2

Somehow, it's a little jarring going from Sonic Colors to Metroid: Other M. Hmmm... and ALoY seems strangely quiet as of late... too quiet. I take it... everyone had a wonderful holiday, or is otherwise busy and happy? I'm happy ALoY is kinda quiet. It lets me keep up on conversations. Compare against some Phantasy Star forums I frequent where PSP2I discussion can grow by multiple pages between the time I go to bed to the time I get to work in the morning UPDATE: FFXIII-2? Man, either I hope this one will be a real RPG or it'll also mark the release of Resonance of Fate 2 and I'll buy the proper one right off the bat this time (hint: it's the one with only one 'F' in the title)

Spread the Falcom love! One of us! One of us!
err.. I mean hello and your experience with getting into Ys sounds very similar to mine, but flip flop when I played Napishtim & Complete and offset the whole experience by 2+ years. Napishtim came out while I was in college. I asked around and nobody could tell me if the game was really good or not. I couldn't even find anyone who had actually played it, just read reviews. A year or 2 out of college I finally played Ys I & II Complete in English and then immediately played Napishtim after finishing them on Nightmare. From there it's all been downhill uphill playing everything else and exploring Falcom titles outside of the Ys series

KitN is Knights in the Nightmare, right? I wanted to like that game. It had a lot of interesting ideas. It had too many interesting ideas. At once. The fact that it takes over an hour to get through all the tutorials should've been a warning
